I made a forum thread for calculating the chance. It is one in 4221. This is because of the amount of seeds that can be randomly generated (2 to the power of 48) divided by the estimated amount of worlds ever generated with random seeds (66 billion). From my forum thread: So my final answer is that only one 4.221th of all seeds have been generated. This means that if you generate 4221 worlds, you have a very high chance that another player has generated the same world. Or if you generate a world, you have a one in 4221 chance that another player has generated the same world as you. Or, there is a one in 4221 chance that a player has generated the seed 0. Or a one in 4221 chance that somebody generated the seed for pack.png (except mojang).
@Andreas L that's a naive way to do it. This seed doesn't work on modern versions of minecraft. Actually, it only works in some versions of the beta. At the time, much, much less people played the game so the total number of randomly generated worlds that were created in the versions where this seed could be created is really thin
@Resonance Hub bruh thats cause they redid the biome gen in b1.8, they went from simplex noise to layered fractal noise, which is still used in todays mc version (modified ofc but still using layered "fractals")

I applaud you all for finding the seed to this. There is something so special about actually walking around in the world that we've seen on the main screen for so long.

From what I can gather they got the exact coordinates in the world of the player, then after some dead ends they used the coloration of the tall grass to get important information necessary to narrow down the search for the seed.
Perhaps. But that will probably require blocks from different chunks.
So I'm going to make a rough estimation: (only terrain blocks, no trees/grass/flowers in this estimation) There are 281 474 976 710 656 seeds in the beta/alpha. Say surface blocks can be between 50-90 blocks (ignore water at <63) That means 16x16x40 different possible heights. But here can be overhang so lets also x10, and you perhaps know some blocks under, lets say x4 for that one. 16x16x40x10x4 = 409 600 blocks / data points. You cant properly map all seeds with that little data. Even if this is a very rough estimation, and ignoring seed overlap and such... 400k is still a lot less than 281 trillion. That said, you will probably need blocks from multiple chunks.
I know the seed may be of a 1.7 patch, but heck it. Now i want to test this within this new 1.16 myself. I feel the nether panorama may be from here too.

year 2269: remember pack.png and panorama? -yeah, I do. That was probably the most common discovery in MC History, rn, they found the aquatic title screen from 1.13 and it was insanely hard it took 2 years
ManosSef this one alone took months to find so it would take another year to find all of them and only for them to be on less iconic Minecraft versions.
Look at the hexadecimal representation of the seeds: 1DDD170FE3E50DE9 704C170FE3E50DE9 Obviously they're using the seed for a 48-bit RNG and there are 65536 equivalent seeds. Now, Java's built-in RNG happens to be a Linear congruential generator of 48 bits.

Of course not! Bedrock Edition seeds only have 10 digits and a COMPLETELY different world generation system. It doesn't even work in modern Java Edition because the world generation has changed!

Of course not! Bedrock Edition seeds only have 10 digits and a COMPLETELY different world generation system. It doesn't even work in modern Java Edition because the world generation has changed!
