@ZeusCybersec I usually use tails but if someone was trying to hack you... Couldn't they just try the windows method just out of guessing... Resulting in the minimized window being useless or is it just designed to make them take a little longer at hacking you... I mean it's a 50/50 at what OS your running most times lol
@0m3nok boomer that's a good point.Well I am a learner and no expert in cybersecurity but The general concept of having minimised browser is so that everyone visiting the site could appear as same(having same resolution)so that visitors cannot be narrowed down as Android or Windows or any other os.If this gives hackers one less attack vector, there is no harm in keeping this feature. Also the reason one must not run tor as root user is because if someone is able to compromise your system, they can directly get access as root user.
Actually this was changed recently. Tor now sets your screen size to a very odd number so that everyone's screen size looks the same. Feel free to use full screen however get used to the big gap at the bottom ;)
Hello crypto I have a question How did you set up the WiFi abapter on Linux, every time when I plug in my WiFi adapter the macchine is not recognizing it does it need some configuration What should I do?
How can you configure your pc network to run on tor. I mean not only in tor browser but any software/mirror/browser should go through tor network. For linux manjaro.
Imagine if the internet wasn’t in anyway restricted, monitored or censored by government and other agencies. The dark web is exactly that. Trust me if you don’t know what your doing, please don’t go looking. Comparing normal websites to dark websites is like comparing the present with the Wild West. Be careful and have fun.
Coz the point of tor is to keep you anonymous if everyone's viewing in full screen and you are the only one viewing in regular size window you stand out, similarly vice versa ,I kid you not they can tell who you are and uniquely identify you even on the basis of that shit ! That's how the FBI cracked on and something else went down a few years back
@AOG I ain't messing around bruh you can check out how the FBI cracked down the silk road and many other sites on the dark side of the internet (not using obvious keywords coz I don't want YouTube to flag me xD )

Malicious sites that run with JavaScript, can get your screen resolution and even the OS info that you're using

If you open a malicious website running javascript, the attacker can get your screen resolution and it helps in finding what OS is you are using.

1 like@0m3n well windows is very vulnerable in fact the safest way to surf tor is in Linux as a non root user
