This is not possible because windows defender is not installed while installing Windows. But you know what they can do? Just install defender in the installation menu!

the reason that they didn't give a shit about dark theme control panel is because they wanted to move everything into a "looks simple but hard to use" Settings app. That's maybe why they didn't even fixed it on the latest Insider build
I don't think so. Settings App is easier to use than Control Panel. Since I have Windows 10, I almost never open Control Panel, only in neccessary cases. But what about Properties dialog?
For #5 (the dark theme one), I am glad to know I am not the only one who feels this way. We shouldn’t have to use 3rd party programs just to get a consistent dark theme!
The UWP File Explorer was actually intended for, and used, in the Xbox One and Series S/X. It's not available to open now through the Apps menu, but it's now used in any scenario an app needs to load a user-chosen file, such as an Xbox gamerpic. Not sure how or why it was carried over to Windows, but, the more you know.
Microsoft Edge HTML rendering engine is used in many apps like Microsoft Store and the Edge Browser obviously. :) Sadly, that will not be removable because of backwards compatibility...
Both XP keys and 7 processing effect don't look that bad. Seriously, XP had a great design and 7 took it even further. MS's minimalist style isn't the best and it has its downsides, but also improves on some fields. IMO, they should've kept the best things from the previous Windows versions to match the new, better ones.

Because they mostly are connected to a Server and the Administrator set a group rule to hide Edge, they're still installed though, just hidden for students and teachers. Or the other way, they installed Enterprise version which doesn't even have Store, nor Edge, you know for business only stability and security updates are important, they don't need these annoying features which pro version offers and force on you.
But in PC you will need to make a script to activate SlidetoShutDown, which tablet needs to be held power button. (Tablet functions is similar to Windows Phone and Windows 10 Mobile, they're default)

For the resource demanding stuff to get rid of the proccess is really easy sometimes. I did this with Windows Update so it wouldn't be able to startup ever again. Just deleted a few files and BOOM, bb forced updates!.

Because Windows 98 PC were still using AT power supplies, not ATX ones like we know today. We had Windows 98 PCs in school, which were shut down exactly in this way. Later, they've got replaced by new computers with Windows XP and those had ATX power supplies, which will turn of the PC for you.

The proper way to use dark theme in Microsoft Windows (and the only way in versions below Windows 10) is to enable High Contrast to customize the colors, then reconfigure the colors to a dark theme. Can't believe Enderman missed this feature.

for the sethc and windows defender thing, i didn’t know how to even do it, so what i did was using process hacker to copy cmd.exe to the desktop, and then deleted magnifier, and replaced it with cmd and renamed it, so i could have nt authority/system on the log in screen and nothing happened, and it still works to this day

So the my explianation for the "..." Directory is well, I think it was intended. You see there're several hidden files in a Directory such as the "." and the ".." Directory (which refers to the previous Directory). it seems to be that the "..." string was reserved for the current Directory, but it might be deprecated now and was just left there in development.
The way the Explorereraddresbar works is that every time you open a folder it appends the folders name to the current string. It might be that the Explorer was never intended to be used with the "..." Directory which would then cause this issue.

That UWP File Explorer was supposed to be Windows 10's replacement File Explorer, but since the whole tablet interface and synergy between PC's, tablets, (Windows) phones, Xbox, etc. never happened, it got abandoned. It's used by default in Windows 10 Mobile and some early Xbox One's OS versions.
The sethc thing is a failsafe to prevent people from replacing it with cmd. There is a way to hack admin passwords on windows 7 and 8.1 doing this, But on windows 10 it blocks it and says it is infected.
At the wrong folder, something happened to me when using a program and putting his installation route in the documents folder in C:\, my computer cloned the C:\ drive in that folder and when I tried to remove the contents of the folder, it was deleting the contents of root. The buckle was still in there.
I performed the sethc.exe trick by doing it in the Windows Command Prompt recovery environment, with a few commands and then I was able to use CMD as SYSTEM on the lock screen! I could even open most apps. Firefox worked well, but the legacy Edge didn’t open, while new Edge would open. Explorer may or may not have worked, I can’t remember.
Thankfully one can still unplug edge and windows assistant from the system apps folder it might make the uwp application menu messy but atleast it is gone.

in windows 10 there is also still the dialer.exe program that allows you to make phone calls but its design has not changed from windows 9X, also the offline web pages folder in windows 10 has the windows 9X look.
The reason why dialer.exe is still and hasn't been updated is because dialer.exe also contains drivers for telephony services. That includes dial-up internet, which many people still use. As the UI is not very important it hasn't been updated or removed.

I miss windows 95 and XP, I wish I could go back, I’m on 8.1 and 11 atm ( at the end of her year my 8.1 laptops have to go to windows 10 I been upgrading the ram to 16GB on them both so it runs well on 10 year old qaud core laptops ) I was kinda surprised by 11 I didn’t want it but I ended up with it anyway and I’m actually surprised by how well it’s optimized for gaming like when I’m gaming whatever ram is left over go’s to the GPU to use say the game uses 6GB of ram to run then my GPU has its 12GB Dedicated VRam and 26GB of physical ram to work with as well and it pauses all background task while playing you can cap FPS per application so if you want some apps to only go 30fps then that it, you can also set that when you have a game up all background task you do like say watch a YouTube video it’s at a capped 60FPS if I didn’t my fps in YouTube would be insanity it’s crazy in games at 1080p high settings I get 500+ fps

1 likeThe UWP File Explorer was actually intended for, and used, in the Xbox One and Series S/X. It's not available to open now through the Apps menu, but it's now used in any scenario an app needs to load a user-chosen file, such as an Xbox gamerpic. Not sure how or why it was carried over to Windows, but, the more you know.

MS's minimalist style isn't the best and it has its downsides, but also improves on some fields. IMO, they should've kept the best things from the previous Windows versions to match the new, better ones.

I miss windows 95 that was my all time favorite so far, although I am kinda liking windows 11 even though I figured I would hate it I wish I could put XP on my gaming PC lol a 5900X with 32GB of ram and a 3080 Ti ( may be a 3090 or 3090 Ti SLI soon hoping to go Ti SLI I figured it should perform like a mid tier 4000 card ) would run the heck out of XP

1 likeBecause they mostly are connected to a Server and the Administrator set a group rule to hide Edge, they're still installed though, just hidden for students and teachers. Or the other way, they installed Enterprise version which doesn't even have Store, nor Edge, you know for business only stability and security updates are important, they don't need these annoying features which pro version offers and force on you.

But in PC you will need to make a script to activate SlidetoShutDown, which tablet needs to be held power button. (Tablet functions is similar to Windows Phone and Windows 10 Mobile, they're default)

The integrated Photos app has poorly support, and the old Windows Image Viewer, shows you instead of a moving working GIF Image, every moving Frame of it. The only way, to regain back proper GIF support, is to manually map the .GIF File Extension to a Webbrowser, or just reinstall IE

0 likesBecause Windows 98 PC were still using AT power supplies, not ATX ones like we know today. We had Windows 98 PCs in school, which were shut down exactly in this way. Later, they've got replaced by new computers with Windows XP and those had ATX power supplies, which will turn of the PC for you.

1 likefor the sethc and windows defender thing, i didn’t know how to even do it, so what i did was using process hacker to copy cmd.exe to the desktop, and then deleted magnifier, and replaced it with cmd and renamed it, so i could have nt authority/system on the log in screen and nothing happened, and it still works to this day

Yes It's working, Enable the don't turn off computer after a Windows System shutdown policy In Gpedit.msc and then try shutdown -s -t 00 in run box or cmd, after shutting down Windows, It will display a black screen with text in white saying "It's now safe to turn off your computer". On XP or Server 2003 it may also display the Microsoft Windows Logo

it seems to be that the "..." string was reserved for the current Directory, but it might be deprecated now and was just left there in development.
The way the Explorereraddresbar works is that every time you open a folder it appends the folders name to the current string.
It might be that the Explorer was never intended to be used with the "..." Directory which would then cause this issue.

Yes it works, however you need to install a hotfix for windows 7 for it to work

The reason why dialer.exe is still and hasn't been updated is because dialer.exe also contains drivers for telephony services. That includes dial-up internet, which many people still use. As the UI is not very important it hasn't been updated or removed.

0 likesI miss windows 95 and XP, I wish I could go back, I’m on 8.1 and 11 atm ( at the end of her year my 8.1 laptops have to go to windows 10 I been upgrading the ram to 16GB on them both so it runs well on 10 year old qaud core laptops ) I was kinda surprised by 11 I didn’t want it but I ended up with it anyway and I’m actually surprised by how well it’s optimized for gaming like when I’m gaming whatever ram is left over go’s to the GPU to use say the game uses 6GB of ram to run then my GPU has its 12GB Dedicated VRam and 26GB of physical ram to work with as well and it pauses all background task while playing you can cap FPS per application so if you want some apps to only go 30fps then that it, you can also set that when you have a game up all background task you do like say watch a YouTube video it’s at a capped 60FPS if I didn’t my fps in YouTube would be insanity it’s crazy in games at 1080p high settings I get 500+ fps
