Predvođen švicarskim multiinstrumentalistom (gitara, hurdy-gurdy, klavijature itd.) Jean-Mauriceom Rosselom (zvanim Momo Rossel), Nimal je nastavio tamo gdje je stao kada se Débile Menthol raspao 1985. godine. Na prvom samozvanom albumu nastupili su američki violončelist Tom Cora (Skeleton Crew, Curlew, Roof itd.) i američki bubnjar Pippin Barnett (Curlew, Orthotonics itd.). Drugi album Voix de Surface dokumentira kvintet sa Slovenskim Bratkom Bibičem (Begnagrad) koji je presudno dodao harmoniku miksu i Jean-Vin Huguenin (Débile Menthol) na bas električnoj gitari, gitari i klavijaturama, što rezultira orkestralnijim zvukom punog benda i povremenim agresivnim rock rubom. Dok je Nimalova glazba uvijek bila pedantno, mukotrpno skladana i uvježbana, ova verzija grupe omogućila je prostor legendarnom improvizacijskom talentu Core. Treći i posljednji Nimal album Dis Tanz bio je ogoljeni, svijetli, kompaktni, odskočni zvuk trojca Rossela, Bibiča i Barnetta. The first self-titled album featured American cellist Tom Cora (Skeleton Crew, Curlew, Roof, etc.) and American drummer Pippin Barnett (Curlew, Orthotonics, etc.). The second album Voix de Surface documents the quintet with Slovenia's Bratko Bibič (Begnagrad), which crucially added to the accordion mix and Jean-Vin Huguenin (Débile Menthol) on bass electric guitar, guitar and keyboards, resulting in a more orchestral sound of a full band and the occasional aggressive rock edge. While Not all music has always been meticulously, painstakingly composed and rehearsed, this version of the group has provided space for the legendary improvisational talent Core. Dis Tanz's third and final Nimal album was the stripped-down, bright, compact, bouncy sound of a trio of Rossel, Bibič and Barnett. Not all music is generally seen as the culmination of a certain post-rock scene that begins in the late 1970s and that mixed various European folk music with an avant-garde rock aesthetic, often considered part of the generalized, expanded concept of the Rock in Opposition scene.
