no, it can't perform perpetuum motion, because the ball would have to go to the start position after it traveled up the slide and fell through the hole. but when rolling towards the start position it will be slown down and even stopped by the magnetic field (which is stronger towards the hole) before reaching the start-position, so you have to MAKE it roll back to the start-position and therefore it is no perpetuum mobile.

Uh the perpetual motion thing is wrong since no magnet will last forever without any energy applied to it. All magnets will slowly lose their magnetism.

Your dead wrong about the physics here Mike. The magnet doesn't have over positive energy, and the kinetic energy of the ball is neutral because it's stuck in the field. Perpetual motion machines are a fantasy, they ignore the first law of thermodynamics, which is a law as universal as gravity.
