I also don't know how I missed this. The guy said "Silver something. Shouls? Seas? Surfer?" I can't believe I missed a silver surfer reference that obvious.
Twilight Sparkle: "I'm the Princess of Friendship. Everywhere I go, ponies recognize me." A citizen of the most influential city in Equestria: "NO SALESPONIES!"
3:21 A clever detail I wouldn't have noticed if others hadn't pointed it out: since this scene takes place in the past, the magic aura is the same generic color the animators used in season 1 before the decision to give each unicorn's magic its own color was made.
RabidBunnyMan Nah, since they go the rest of season 1 like that (and the colors aren’t exactly the same, just very similar), unless it’s a very delayed reaction. If anything, it would seem to have something to do with Discord, since the season 2 premiere is the last time magical auras are like that (due to that premiere being produced as part of season 1’s production run)
For a while, I just thought of it as a typical Slice of Life episode with Twilight over reacting. But the ending actually made me think of it differently. This is Twilight, a known book horse. This episode is recognising the librarian that helped her shape who she became and likely was a long-time friend from before Twilight even appreciated friendship.
Also, Dusty Pages is the 2nd sweetest old mare in the show imo. 1st is Mistmane.
G.M. Berrow, the writer for this episode, was a guest at this year's GalaCon. She actually showed us the first draft of her script for the episode and read out a few scenes to show how the episode evolved over time. It was a really cool experience.
Another piece of Twilight’s past revealed to us. I love it when certain episodes focus on the events that happened before or during episode one of the show, like “Amending Fences.” It makes for some good ground to cover with Twilight. It was cool that Moondancer made another appearance again. Also, Dusty Pages is another elder pony favorite of mine, next to Granny Smith. A fun Twilight episode all in all.
7:23 The library found Twilight's overdue book, "Perfection: The Impossible Pursuit", under 189.05. In the Dewey Decimal system, the 100 group is philosophy, and 189 is Medieval Western philosophy. Rather appropriate for a philosophical tome found in a library in a place called Canterlot.
The fee on my university's library do not cap, and you can't have dept there to graduate. There was one guy who forgot a few books for years, the fee was a few hundred dollars, it was more expensive than the books. He negotiated and they took the value down by a lot.
5:27 - I do...I love the smell of old books, from libraries or old/used/out of print bookstores. The smell of pulp pages really takes me back...makes me happy.
Looks like Hasbro blocked your reaction to S9 premiere :q Any BitChute link maybe?... 01:19 Oh, silly Spike, how could she then abuse y... I mean, make you feel that you're useful for something anyway? ;) 02:22 Hah... your inner psychic pretty much predicted the entire resolution of this episode :q 04:02 This moment seems to be some sort of spacetime crossroads that is important for multiple future events :q 05:00 The level of Spike's sarcasm in this episode is over 9000 ;) and I love it ;> Looks like it is directly proportional to the miserableness of the situation Twilight's in, and her level of freakout ;) 05:35 The Princess of late fees maybe? :q 08:46 You wish... ;> 09:00 Sorry, Spike, they can smell a slave from a mile :q And the fact how easily you always go with it doesn't help your case either ;) 12:30 Well then, the name "Silver Shores" finally became clear: it's named after the silver mines located there :) 19:59 Now that's a lesson Twilight needed to learn long time ago :q 20:43 That blush was adorable :3
There's an easy way to have them leave you alone forever ;) Just sign in to their sect for a month, then sign out. They will exile you forever, and your house will be marked with a huge red "X" on their map so that they will know to never talk to you again ;) That's their rules. No contacts whatsoever with former members who quitted ;) Or, you can use a door knock like this one: http://www.americas-best.com/graphics/pics_door-knocker.jpg :D
I know you probably dont care, but I too run a MLP channel that contains reactions and was wondering if you could give me pointers and basic coaching on what to do. I'm not asking for a shout-out or even a subscription, just for help on what to do to improve my channel and to make it as good as I can with the tools I have. Thx for your time
@Daffy Derp Unfortunately, thumbnail images could be spoilery enough :q As for your question: Just be yourself. The reason I watch reactions is because every reacter is unique, and has their own perspective on the episodes they watch. If you try to be like someone else (regarding the "coaching" thing), then I'd rather watch the original ;) So be yourself, enjoy the ride, and make sure you watch the episodes as blind as possible, because then your reactions will be more genuine and exciting ;) Make sure your voice can be heard over the video you're reacting to, and if you want to share some longer remakrs/ideas, it's better to pause the video (many reacters seem to forget that the pause button exists :q ) than talk over it and miss on the important dialogues. Oh, and a special piece of advice from me: DON'T SPOIL IN THUMBNAILS. Unfortunately, not many people seem to care about that, and either accidentally or deliberately ruin the fun to others (thumbnail spoilers cannot be easily avoided). Despite the fact that the show is finished already, there's still people who haven't seen it yet (you're one of them right now), so please make sure you won't ruin the surprises to other people who will come after you. Having said that, I'll take a look at your reactions later, when I'll have some more time (unless I already did).
Mate i just checked your channel & you are at season 2. So i hope you aren't watching these videos since they give spoilers for a bunch of episodes in season 3 - 9.
I once visited someone who asked me if I was very religious and, worrying that they were anti-religous, I told them that I was but I would never try to force it on anyone. Turns out they were Mormons
I still love how all Twilight has to go off of is that Dusty moved to "Silver... somewhere," and she ends up asking Silverstream.

10 likesWhat do you think that means lore-wise? Did unicorns gain unique magic colors as a result of the elements being reunited?

This is a good episode. The conflict is good enough. Twilight is entertaining enough. Dusty Pages is a good character.
