6:55 fun fact: This episode was actually leaked early BEFORE crusaders of the lost mark, if it had not been for the costumes the CMC are wearing it would’ve spoiled that they got there cutie marks.
Flufux ducktails and I guess now MLP. Why do shows do this were the time there aired can be out of sync with the order it was originally intended to come out?
Actually, it was supposed to be aired by the time it was leaked...and if they had not been covered up, the CMCs would have still have inexplicably been blank flanks again for no reason.
The only reason it aired later, and right after a Christmas episode at that, was to have it air on Halloween.
Love the moment where Fluttershy is trying the first time to scare her friends with «Unexpected guests» who is a reference to many anime heroes of other mangas and animes
Fluttershy's fake(?) fangs disappear when her hoof passes in front of her face pushing the fake ears off, and there's no indication of what she did to color her eyes. Enchantments on the ears and gown, perhaps? Or remnants of Flutterbat that we know from the fade out shot of 'Bats!' lingered after the incident, being brought out by circumstance?
This is one episode of S5 that not many people like, particularly because of the way Fluttershy is written. I can understand why many have issues with her in this story. But for me it doesn’t bother me as much as it used to. This episode is decent in my opinion, all things considered. If could change one thing from this episode, I would add Luna in this episode, to make it more interesting. And perhaps have her help Fluttershy with her Nightmare Night problem.
Huh, I've never really seen people dislike this one. Can't think of anything wrong with Fluttershy in it either. To me it's always been just an episode like many other less-exciting-than-the-standout-exceptional-episodes episodes, with pretty scenery and fun moments. Like "Made in Manehattan" for example. Though that one was duller than this IMO.
This is a great episode. Fluttershy is pretty good. The haunted maze is pretty cool. Also even as a costume it's great to see the return of Flutterbat.

I kind of wish fluttershy would have asked discore for some help, in scaring the others because it would have made one hell of a nightmare night then. Lol.
I love this episode, but I still don't understand why Fluttershy was scared of the fake spiders in the window considering she had just interacted with her actual spider friend Fuzzylegs.
Believe it or not, this episode is THE reason why I ultimately became a brony! Back in late September of 2015, a video of 11:50 - 15:05 (presumably from the leak) randomly popped up on my YouTube homepage, titled “Fluttershy’s Spooky Tea Party” or something of that nature. Out of sheer curiosity, my 13-year-old self decided to click on it…and the rest is history!
Hey, PonyBro. I should say that I felt this episode was flawed. The reason I say that is because this episode should have been about talking about why she is so afraid of Nightmare Night, and her conquering her fears of it, realizing that it's really nothing to be afraid of, and celebrating it and having fun. This episode should have been about that, and not about Fluttershy scaring her friends and deciding to not be part of it. Like I mention, she never talks about why so has an absolute fear of it throughout this episode, so we don't really know, and probably never know. Although, I do have a theory as to why she is afraid of Nightmare Night. My theory is that Fluttershy is possibly afraid of people (or ponies in this case) in costume. And it's first indicated in the season 2 episode, Luna Eclipsed, when she said "Go away! No candy here! Visitors not welcome on Nightmare Night!", and her fear went away when she found out it was Twilight. And how she sees and becomes fearful of all the other ponies in costume. All this indicates that Fluttershy has a costumed character phobia. And I can spot it because of how I used to have that same phobia myself, until I joined the brony fandom, and cured me of it. What are your thoughts on this?
BTW You are right. Apple Bloom was dress like a Platypus. A native Australian animal.
@@ponybroiguess384 Speaking as someone who has never celebrated Halloween because it's not part of my culture & tradition, and yet so many people try to mimic this foreign holiday and force it upon me – I second that. Especially if there already are some other, cool holidays and traditions in my country that people have long forgotten and don't celebrate anymore.
Raptormon OneThreeTwo I would have rather liked to see her deal with overcoming her fear and transitioning into some form of participation in nightmare night. I still think it’s a good lesson that not everybody likes the same things and people shouldn’t feel forced to participate in things that don’t appeal to them. At least that’s the lesson I drew. But yeah, might have been a better episode if it dealt with her learning how to cope with her fears along with her friends and coming out at the end of the episode more confident. But hey, I enjoyed it either way.
To be honest, if Angel was my pet, I'd probably be having fried rabbit around the Put Your Hoof Down episodes. 9:57 Also, I'm kind of with Fluttershy on this one, despite no monster. I'm just aquaphobic (hate putting my head underwater). And Spike was just trying to make himself a double body (like a rare twin birth defect). 17:34 also reminds me of 1960 Psycho, where Lila discover's Mrs. Bate's skeleton.
