- Reformed from 2004 to 2016 Led by ace guitarist Radimík, BLUE EFFECT were one of the main progressive bands in Czechoslovakia; were in their country what OMEGA was to Hungary, or SBB Poland. They started in 1968 with several early R&B-oriented albums. However, the Czech administration strongly disapproved of English names at the time, so the band switched to MODRÝ EFFECT and later to a simple M.EFFECT. After these two albums, their material veered towards jazz rock and in the early 80s, after sereval personnel changes, their music became a little less prog, more accessible. They released their last album in 1981, then quietly disappeared.
Especially interesting are the prog fans of three albums: "Modrý Effect & I Do Hladík" (1975) which contains an energetic mix of YES-like symphonic rock with some fusion;
the overall effect is likely to remind you of FINCH or CRUCIS. Emphasizing Hladik's brilliant solo, this was the album that established him as "Czech guitarist par excellence." However, it is "Svitanie" (1977) that is considered a real masterpiece of the band. With its tough bass lines and bold keyboard/guitar melodies, it is still heavily influenced by the DA, but it also has a certain Czech flavor that makes it unique. Finally, there is a bolder, more complex and not so DA-like album titled "St. Hledacu - The World of Seekers" (1979). this one is characterized by a lot of sudden pace and emphasizes the flow between space synthesizers and Coolik's biting guitars. In addition to this album, whose 5 official songs were sung, the band's répertoire is mostly instrumental.
It is primarily recommended for fusion lovers, but DA fans are also likely to find something to stick themselves in....... ladislav&zivanovic......
- Reformirana od 2004. do 2016. godine Predvođena ace gitaristom Radimíkom, BLUE EFFECT bili su jedan od glavnih progresivnih bendova u Čehoslovačkoj; bili su u svojoj zemlji ono što je OMEGA bila Mađarskoj, ili SBB Poljskoj. Započeli su 1968. godine s nekoliko ranih R&B-orijentiranih albuma. Međutim, češka uprava tada je snažno ne odobravala engleska imena, pa se sastav prebacio na MODRÝ EFEKT i kasnije na jednostavno M.EFEKT. Nakon ova dva albuma, njihov materijal skrenuo je prema jazz rocku i početkom 80-ih, nakon serevalnih kadrovskih promjena, njihova glazba postala je malo manje prog, pristupačnija. Posljednji album objavili su 1981. godine, a zatim su tiho nestali.

Sa svojim žilavim bas linijama i odvažnim melodijama klavijature/gitare, još uvijek je pod velikim utjecajem DA, ali ima i određeni češki okus koji ga čini jedinstvenim. Konačno, tu je hrabriji, složeniji i ne tako DA-sličan album pod nazivom "Svet Hledacu - Svijet tragača" (1979.). ovaj karakteriziraju mnogi nagli tempo i naglašava tok između svemirskih sintisajzera i Hladikovih zagriženih gitara. Osim ovog albuma, čijih je 5 službenih pjesama otpjevano, répertoire sastava uglavnom je instrumentalan.

Ils ont commencé en 1968 avec plusieurs des premiers albums orientés R&B. Cependant, l’administration tchèque désapprouvait fortement les noms anglais à l’époque, de sorte que le groupe est passé à MODRÝ EFFECT et plus tard à un simple M.EFFECT. Après ces deux albums, leur matériel s’est dirigé vers le jazz rock et au début des années 80, après des changements de personnel, leur musique est devenue un peu moins prog, plus accessible. Ils sortent leur dernier album en 1981, puis disparaissent tranquillement.
