Sprout is a side character that is never seen. We need to see more of him.

In my opinion it's unfair to turn Sprout from a childhood friend of TWO main characters AND the main antagonist of the movie into the background character we barely see. Most of people after seeing movie thought he will have a redemption arc and join main cast but now we have new characters like Sparky and Misty who will more likely take place in the new main 5. It's really sad that even other background ponies have more screen time than him.. heck even his mom. Sprout has potential of being a good character and i really hope to see it in later episodes.

Hi can you help me with the question I have I just got done finishing season 8 and 1 episode was really bothering me And this episode we saw silver streams brother who had to choose which homie want to live in And in this episode it was on because we didn't see queen nova at all you could just say she was off working or something which is highly possible cause she is a queen of ancient What is odd because well her daughter came I think a little close with me 6 even though so close that she wasn't fighting over there so yeah So isn't it odd that if she even heard them coming around she would even talk to them just to catch up on her old life Now it's possible she was also busy but still they busy visit visiting both rounds and we didn't even hear anything about them and yeah they're her niece are nephew but even when they went missing it wasn't the queen who came it was the person who represented the queen what I found quite odds what happened where did the queen go and so why didn't we hear it any news of what made of happen there's nothing This is quite odd for me what's happening Please make please help me or respond to this because I really don't know

Really nice Sprout video analysis here! I guess from what I discerned in the movie, I'm not entirely sure if the Earth Ponies as a whole can include blaming themselves for the destruction of the lighthouse. They scrammed away from Emperor Sprout's orders of a direct attack to the other races, and it was only then that Sprout chased off the Mane 5 by himself, without anypony else involved, towards the incident of accidentally destroying Sunny's home.
But they can blame themselves indirectly for allowing Sprout to gain more power that led to all this. So, it is still plausible for them to voluntarily help (probably in both universes?) to reconstruct the lighthouse again.

I just love Sprout ! It was one of my big let down to not see him more. But I still enjoyed a lot the show.
I do believe he run away. Sprout is a bit naïve on the side and clearly unbalanced. But all he did was to please his mom. The thing everyone did followed him. But in his eyes he never did anything wrong. He basically doesn't realize how bad things went.
He gets his mom wasn't happy at the end but not exactly why. So no he wouldn't change his view. Even later in community work with the magic he now have, he doesn't seem to like anything about it.
Anyway, the point is that everyone turn on him, while they walk by his side. He doesn't understand it. He fled because all he can understand is that everyone turned on him.

I do not believe he returned on his own. With all that had happened, I can easily believe it took a while before they even realize that he was missing. Otherwise they would have catch him before he left.
But with the three tribe together, he would have been found and brought back.
He got community work but were Hitch and him used to be friends, when they meet again there is not even the basic greetings. Sprout clearly do not see Hitch as a friend anymore. He stay and work because leaving is pointless. The other tribes proved he can't run.

Maybe he can have a redemption ark later on but I kinda want to see him join with Opaline.

I've been thinking of a similar but much more evil villain to Sprout, and here's what i've got:

Klaus Hammerhoof, the earth pony Premier of a communist nation of Trotemkin. His outfit is similar to that of Sprout when he self-proclaims as the Emperor of Maretime Bay, only it's all-black and he wears a mask to hide his disfigured face. He's still being gripped by the same fear & prejudice as the pre-unification ponies, but with a dark secret. When Sunny & co. meet him, they were surprised that he was still being racist towards unicorns & pegasi. Later on, they find out that he actually kidnapped those unicorns & pegasi then forcibly turned them into earth ponies by removing their horn & wings then infuse them with earth pony magic. Oh, not to mention he also pilots a machine just like Sprout, but more advanced & heavily weaponized nicknamed "Centurion Dominatus".

Also long live this: the whole you forgot flurry had art thing and this: you got the princess of the sun,moon,love,friendship, and, MERCHANDISE HUY OUR TOOOOOYS

I just discovered(after looking through my subscriptions and when I subscribed to them) that your channel was the first one I ever subscribed to when I made my account back in 2015! It's so crazy and awesome that through my expanding interests over the years, I've never once stopped watching and enjoying your content!!

I can understand Phyllis (or how ever you spell her name) getting community service, but Sprout? Electric Chair (granted I don't know much about law but at least give him time in prison)

Here's another major point about the alternate universe: Sunny doesn't have alicorn magic.

If you look at Sunny in any of the footage from the alternate universe, she doesn't have have the rainbow streak in her mane that she got absorbing the magic from all three tribes. We know that all three crystals were brought back together since the Brighthouse exists and that earth ponies have their magic back, but it seems like Sunny wasn't affected by the crystals uniting like they did in the main timeline. We still don't know why Sunny got alicorn magic to begin with, but we do know that it had a major role in showing the unity between the tribes.

This might actually explain how Sprout got back into power and why the Earth ponies were less prone to change: they didn't have a literal walking representation of unity living in town.

This was interesting; I haven't played the game, so I didn't know it told a different version of the Maretime Bay Day story. Honestly, though, I'm amazed you haven't made any theories about Opaline and Misty yet. We have some info to work with now, including an explanation for where all of the other creatures of Equestria are (outside the dome). And confirming that a pony can reach adulthood without getting a cutie mark? There's so much to talk about here!

Wasn’t the Maretime festival more than just one day? In TYT they also had a Maretime bay festival episode. So probably Sprout shenanigans happened in second day, meanwhile Posey was in the first.

Also what about Sprout being master of Posey, he teacher her his hate towards unicorns to Posey, she attempted but failed and learned in the first day. And sprout tried it himself the next day?

It sounds like the reason Sprout ran away could maybe be due to his mother's initial indirect rejection to him at the end of the movie. He may have returned because Hitch and Sunny were his only friends, and maybe stuck in a stockholm syndrome-like situation with his mother. The opening of the movie did subtlely show that Sprout does like his friends when he was younger, accepting those unicorn cupcakes and hanging out of the "town herectic's" daughter.

I have a theory to this...
Sawtooth mentioned that the earth ponies got their magic before their celebration. And after the celebration in Posies world. However, what if the Earth Ponies decided to have a duover the next day? The Earth Ponies would still have their powers and it would be new to them. Sprout could've given up after he ran away in seperating them. It doesn't mention Sprout in the first celebration because he was coming back. He probably saw what Posie did and decided that he could still convince ponies to turn on each other. After him and Sunny made up, then he turned himself in. Now, this theory doesn't explain why Sprout was a deputy and why Philis' glasses were on the Canterlogic building. I assume, Hitch wanted to gove Sprout a second chance on being deputy. And as for the Glasses, Sprout must have gathered pegasi to put the glasses up before he turned on them. Hitch probably demoted Sprout from his power. Then, Sprout turned himself in like I mentioned before. Please let me know what you guys think about this theory!

For example, you could make a video about Misty’s possible origins. How did Opaline found her? Why she doesn’t have a cutie? Is she related to one of the characters in My little pony friendship is magic? Seriously if you’re going to talk about characters like Sprout then Misty should be a character to talk about as well. Tbh, it feels like Sprout is the descendant of Big Mac or maybe Apple bloom or Applejack.
It's more likely on Big Mac because the colour scheme seems to match. The body colour is red while the mane is orange. Plus, his mother Phyllis called him sugarcube just like how Applejack calls Apple bloom.
Even Sprout's cutie mark is plant based but that one is kind of a stretch. He could be related to Babs Seed. They may not be the same even the cutie mark, but it could be the name. Babs "Seed", a few generations later and you get "Sprout".
Speaking of cutie marks, don't they magically appear when ponies get their talents. How does the new generation or even the previous generations get theirs after magic was gone?

Could you look into the possibility that Tirek, Cozy Glow, and Chrysalis fused somehow after they escaped their statue and became Alicorn Opaline? I mean, there is a LOT in common there.

Another fine theory vid, Sawtooth. Especially one focusing on Sprout and his actions as well as his future. Though, I do have some notes and rebuttals regarding some of the points you've brought up here.

For starters, regarding Maretime Bay's seeming lack of a high authority or democracy of sorts, I'd like to think that Phyllis is technically Maretime Bay's mayor of sorts. Perhaps Canterlogic is a family-owned company that not only built all of its anti-unicorn/pegasi technology and propaganda, but also built and founded the city itself. Though, the future regarding Canterlogic, and whether or not Phyllis or someone else is in power remains to be seen.

Posey also technically wasn't anti-unicorn or pegasi, she was just against magic, born out of jealousy and frustration at the inconvenience of ponies using magic. Once she and the others unlocked their newly upgraded magic, she had a change of heart and made amends.

Also, let's throw that whole multiverse thing out the window for a bit and let's pretend that either the Maretime Bay Day in MYM is the exact same day as MTBDA, or they're on separate occasions. I'd say that as possibly part of Sprout's community service, he was temporarily given a trial as being just added security for the event. (I do find it kinda ridiculous that Hitch considers a friggin trio of seagulls and a pet crab his new deputies.) Sounds simple right? Of course, Sprout would again abuse that power and still feeling bitter and reluctant to accept all the new changes, especially since he likely believes that the new ponies in town are the cause of all his misfortune, being discharged as deputy, his mother is now terribly embarrassed of him, and to top it off, the return of magic, especially the upgraded earth pony magic is taking a toll on his sanity, he tries to stir up some mistrust and confusion. So, after being found out and reconciling with the Mane 5, Sprout is given a short-lived opportunity to loosen up and enjoy himself, before continuing his community service on a shorter scale which admittedly, he should've started there before. But again, that's just my own theory on how Sprout's community service is going.

I don't know what's going to happen in the 2nd universe/timeline's future? But the video is awesome cause, Sprout is my 2nd fav. :3

Y’know we have a friend who is a huge my little pony fan and recently she said something that got us thinking. Due to the fact that they are all different species and have all different lifespans, would the young six really be fit for taking on the magic of the elements of harmony? Just a thought.

I'm glad that there is a possible explanation for where A Maretime Bay Adventure fits into the timeline, or rather, an alternate timeline. Make Your Mark Chapter 1 and A Maretime Bay Adventure were released around the same time, after all.
With that in mind, I wanna mention two things: 1. The split, in real life, is likely by a split between interpretations of the three necessary post-Movie introductions: Maretime Bay Day, Earth pony magic becomes a thing, and there being an Earth pony antagonist to rile up the Earth ponies against the newly moved-in races of unicorns and pegasi. 2. If this is indeed an alternate timeline, or an alternate universe for that matter, that could explain the inconsistencies among the media. The comics, for instance, imply that everything since The Last Problem has been for naught, thanks to a pre-Alicorn Opaline, and Discord steals the Crystals in order to prevent her uprising...or at least, that's his intention. This, however, says one of two things. One, that this is an alternate timeline where Misty was beat to the punch by Discord, and thus the downfall of Equestria was much worse than it could have been in the show canon. Also that Discord and Canterlot are still around, and yet our protagonists ignore it to focus on slice of life stories. At least with Misty, they weren't aware of her wrongdoings at first. Or two, this is just one of many oversights on the writing teams being not let on each other's work. The comics had a tendency to stray away from show canon in the G4 comics, after all, so why not here? I am hoping it is the former, and it is confirmed to be the former, because as it is, G5's story is a muddled mess.

I've wrapped my mind around all this as well. You're idea is just as good to ponder over but, if I may suggest, Sprout could still be a sheriff deupty and throwing his idea together that he's still right based on the old customs. There is even a possibly that Phyllis was dismantling her glasses off the building and trying to get her son to come to his senses and face his crimes as she does still care for him. Honestly, the answer is pretty straightforward and simple lol. AMBA's development started way earlier, before ANG was even fully finished. Therefore, what you see in the game could very well be in relation to the earlier plans for the story. Further down the line, changes made to ANG just weren't and probably couldn't make it into the game as the models and such might have been done, and would be a waste of time and money to make changes so they just carried on. Furthermore, according to DJThed himself who worked on the game's 3D components, their schedule was really tight will very little people in the crew working on the game. So yeah it was quite a mess.

1.Sunny doesn't have the streak in her mane, even when the event in the game is clearly after the movie
2. The Brighthouse is in the game, which means the story does involve the lighthouse getting destroyed since the beginning of planning
3. Since Sprout is still deputy, perhaps he wasn't given the role of destruction initially as well in the movie

But I get the whole purpose of this channel is to make speculations and stuff lol, so ofc you'd take every chance you get for a video. This is just for those who wanted to know some actual facts. Have a nice day everyone.

It was a game that was already in development for a while now. By the time the show runners got around to doing MyM chapter 1, they decided to replace Sprout with Posey. There could be a lot of reasons for this but the reason why some people think Sprout was replaced by Posey was because of the international VA credits at the end of MyM Chapter 1. There were VAs assigned to voice Sprout but he never appeared in Chapter 1. This is why I can't get behind G5. Their setting requires so much continuity from G4 yet they can't even give their own continuity any respect.

I hope this reaches to Sawtooth Waves, I have a small theory that me and my friend thought about and it includes Prince Blueblood, Celestia, and Luna. It's about how Blueblood is Celestia's nephew, but Luna didnt birth him, so we were thinking Celestia may have a secret sibling that gave birth to Prince Blueblood, and this sibling lives in Silver Shoals, where Celestia and Luna go back to when they retire. This is just a theory me and my friend thought up of randomly, and we haven't given much thought to it, so I'm probably leaving some details out about Blueblood being Celestia's nephew. But that's the theory me and my friend have. Hope Sawtooth sees this, it could be a video idea :')

I think a much more likely explanation is that because Maretime Bay Day was interrupted by what happened, the ponies simply decided to have another one a month or two later.
It is possible that they would’ve kept him as a deputy up until the events of the game, where he would be demoted.

Maybe the one in the game was the original story for chapter 1 but they most likely said (nah will save that for the video game and just use this idea for MYM chapter 1) but that’s just me and not saying it like I didn’t like chapter 1 or anything.

The story in the video game probably was just an alternate timeline and that's probably the same with the Tell Your Tale timeline. As in, all three of them are just different universes.

It’s highly possible that the game and Make your mark’s maretime bay days could still theoretically happen in the same timeline. Perhaps after the disaster that occurred with Posey’s maretime bay day, they decided to extend it to the next day.

What about Sparky? Sparky is probably being dragonsat off camera, and iirc, at one point in MYM Ch. 2, he is dragonsat by one of Hitch’s critters/deputies. This would explain why he seems to give up being a deputy and performs community service (perhaps he tries to escape during some of those services, leading to the wanted poster we see in TYT).

I can't say much on the Sprout's Maritime Bay Day since I didn't play the game, but I can agree with the ending of that statement. His name could be an indicator of his future or his talent with his Earth Pony magic. Think about it this way, we have yet to see how the G5 ponies gotten their cutie marks with or without the current magic they have. And don't cutie marks have their own magic in a way? So how would Sprout's cutie mark mean growing something new if he did have magic as a colt but instead means new growth. I'm just spitballing here. But it would be interesting.

Posy comes off as more of a grouchy nag, which has some degree of understanding. Sprout intentionally framed pony and insisted a mood with that, that is deliberate it's as bad as what he did in the movie. Ok, so i wanna ask you someting. I've noticed that the color magic of the unicorns/alicorns is the same as their cutie mark color, like twilight who has a pink star, has pink magic; rarity who has blue diamonds has blue magic but i've noticed that some ponies like Sweetie Belle, Princess Luna or Sunset Shimer don t have the same color as their cutie marks and i really wanna know the reasons.

I think G5 has split itself into FOUR Different realities... and sometimes aren't consistent even within themselves.

Exhibit 1: Brick and Wooden Lighthouse is now destroyed, together with the pedestal for the Unity Crystals. IDW starts us off and the inside has said, destroyed, pedestal intact, as well as looking like the Brick and Wooden Lighthouse.

Exhibit 2: MYM Chapter 1 takes place during Maretime Bay Day, during which Earth Ponies get their magic and Izzy gives Sunny a "uni-cycled" Lantern. TYT Ep 13 we see Izzy going through the trouble of putting together the Lantern for Maretime Bay Day, so this should take place before MYM1. However, she is driving this vehicle, which she uni-cycled in MYM Ch 2 Ep 1, which should take place After Maretime Bay Day because Earth Pony Magic is growing oversized produce. Cross-Media Paradox!

Exhibit 3: At the end of MYM1, Zipp declares herself a Detective. Yes, she's been a detective throughout, but it isn't until the end she announces it to her mother and in front of her friends. Moments later she is getting "dressed" and saying what she wants to do with her life. Behind her, tho, we see her Special Visor that Izzy made for her in TYT12. In that episode Izzy gives Zipp the Visor saying a good detective has fancy gadgets. She can't have known in MYM1, and when she did, had the time to measure Zipp's head, build the thing, and then Zipp accusing everypony of stealing sunnies, and... well... You probably know how all that can't have fit between the end of Maretime Bay Day and Zipp talking about her new "career". Self-Media Paradox!

Exhibit 4: By some chronological sense, TYT11 should be straight after MYM1 and TYT28 comes after MYM2. Where's Sparky in all that time? Hitch didn't just abandon that dragon for over a dozen episodes, did he?

But... There is still a chance there is a connection between these current medias. In MYM2.6, they tell the tale of how the Unity Crystals were created and separated. It is close enough to the tale Discord told in the IDW comics. Things might line up once that arc is concluded, but may still be too early to tell if reading the comics are necessary enough to follow along with MYM and TYT.

I don't see Sprout as arrogant, quite the opposite, he is super duper self concious and his braging is the way to cope. He was never tought to deal with his emotions and problems, Phyliss did not fix anything for him, she ignored them and showered him with praises to just stop worrying. He had this mindset of "never beeing enough". He tried to be like Hitch, but he wasn't good enough Sheriff for the town folks they told him to his face "we want the REAL sheriff" and workung under narcissist like Hitch (i mean who hands sexy callendars of THEMSELVES in the office?!) he was toughed that "why try doing anything anyway if youre never gonna be good enough. When he worked himself off chasing sunny around the town, Hitch ignored him and later basically told him to his face that he thinks he's useless on his way out. When he felt the panic he went the other extreme - did what his mother always does - turned fear into weapon. But again, want suuuper overboard, to prove that he is not useless, that he is not worthless, that he too can be the big, great, admirable stalion like Hitch. I was hoping that we would get an episode on Hitch / Sprout relationship. It could be a good lesson for kids to show how you can be a bad influence on someone even not beeing a bad person, and not doing anything particularly wrong. But nah, Opaline, the Princess of Karens is our focus now. Sprout is not even allowed to be a background pony in any scene. The showrunners don't know what to do with him and just throw him on the poster or in community servise, to see what sticks. I feel they just don't like him as a character and would like to get rid of him from the show if they could. That's why they invented Posey, to do just that. Which is sad as he is my favourite G5 pony.

Ik you're most likely done with g4 mlp theories but what if discord was made to be a ruler of all tribes, this theory could maybe easily proved wrong but, think about it, 3 different pony types put together to make rulers for the 3 tribes, but then there's more known tribes and the rulers being only combination of all three ponies would cause maybe wars and even more dislike of each other, but then discord comes to be, a combination of nearly, if not more than, every thing in the whole world to show that all the tribes being together they can be chaotic, but very strong :))

The only Reason to add the Mane 6 in G5 was just so Fans buy a Bubscription at Netflix to see something new from the known Eqestria and the Mane 6.
Just, exept of the Fantasy with the Mane 6, the Stuff Argyle has made for Sunny, a Window with Twilights Cutiemark and a strangely well preserved Wonderbolt Poster who should not look that fres anymore, theres nothing in the Movie or the Specials or the Show that are G4 releated (except Twilights Warning Holo Message, who are well ignored after the Episode).
No known Town or City, no Canterlot, no Ponyville, no Sweet Apple Acres (if the Tree Sunny and Izzy has found are not Part of the old Farmland) and the Tree of Harmony is not the Tree of Harmony, because it is made of Crystals and not an real Tree.

hi sawtooth I have a great theory based offf one of ur videos I hope u do a video on it bc it's kinda cannon
so basically based off of what mlp works on (harmony) what if the purpose of the elements was to be combined in to one element and the student six could be the holders, sense we clearly see that the student six are not only one element themselves but may represent all the elements so when the tree house was built the element were combined as one helping create the tree house just like how the lock worked when it created twilight's castle. all the elements needed to be combined to make twilight castle. If you look back in the first episode you can see that it is possible for the elements to be fixed as long as the spirits of the elements were there. I think the student six may have done something similar. Like I said, I think the student six may have combined the elements into one instead of just fixing them. harmony only works when you're working together or as one and the student six worked together to make the tree house. The definition of harmony is literally, the combination of musical notes to produce chords and chord progressions having a pleasing effect or in our case the musical notes are the elements and the student six are the chords. together they create something magical. I think this theory is really great. I hope you use it in one of your videos. THANK YOU FOR READING
