It is funny how most PUP developers at least try to make it look like their software does something useful while Microsoft didn't even bother making it remotely believable. The only "PC healt" part is to tell you that your PC is unhealty because it doesn't support Windows 11. I started using Windows 11 because my laptop came with it and I like it but the way Microsoft advertises it is pure garbage.
By the way you are making some really great videos in these days and thank you for bringing up this Microsoft PUP, someone really needed to talk about it.
One of my favorite YouTubers upgraded to Windows 11, realized it was dog shit, downgraded to Windows 10 again, and then realized he lost all of his saves in a game which totaled around 400 videos worth of work and thousands of hours. Thank you, Microsoft.
It's dogcrap because of BLOATWARE. Windows 10 has BLOATWARE, but not that much. “Visual rejuvenation” where “every detail matters” just not met. From the moment you boot 11, you see already a very blatant leftover from 10 for no reason
Non updated WinPE and WinRE, the latter with such a meaningless and lazy update being the change of icons, but the remaining of the interface being the exact same like 8, where editing that interface takes seconds as it’s all DirectUI so super customizable
File explorer being a joke: the new right click menus aren’t touch friendly, they could have implemented a much more elegant method for “Show more options”, the dark mode in file explorer is just a joke, search is just as slow as before, the dialogs are still from 95 and non updated
Non coherence between win32 designs, and UWP apps and between uwp apps too. They all have different titlebar designs with different heights, different left menus, different settings designs, like, decide one and stick to it rather than creating a million different designs?
Pointless and slow updates. The “updated apps” which rolled out to 11 should have been here since day one, yet some even after one year.
The over usage of “web technologies”, which do run slower than native ones and do look worse.
Overall unfinished state throughout the whole os. 8 loading circle in login screen, 10 flyouts in oobe, the oobe changes a bit the style at some point, many changes are just overlays on top of the old ones rather than real changes, all the control panel applets are still not updated, some settings are still directly from 10 (storage sense > more details), there are still the dialogs from 8 (open settings app > rename your pc), it’s the first version of windows where you can load the explorer from the previous version without any tweak or external file, lack of coherence and focus due to poor management
Lack of meaningful touch focused ui. You can’t call a desktop mode with more padding “touch focused”. It’s ridicolous. You don’t have gestures to go back between menus, you have to click the little arrows. You don’t have smooth file management with touch like iOS with animations, gestures and such. You don’t have even a gesture to close apps like 8 and 10 had. You essentially have a desktop mode with more padding, and call this touch focused?! Then the other real touch oriented ones what are, ultra hyper touch sayans?
So, overall, main points are: lack of a real and throughout visual rejuvenation, lack of coherence and focus, lack of a real touch focused experience. Don’t remember anything broken else.
@@MaxSpec I agree with you. The "show more options" when you right click a file in Windows Explorer is the most annoying thing in W11, which is really really unnecessary. I know it can be returned to old style context menu by editing the registry, but most people don't want to mess up with the registry editor because a single wrong registry change could potentially brick the system

@@erikkonstas Ah yes, I forgot this statement. They should make an official lite version of Win10/11 without all the bloatware and unnecessary features instead of pushing more bloatware in each major update and keep taking down the Windows debloater scripts and unofficial Win10/11 lite edition from the fanbase for DMCA and security reasons
In order to make it usable, they should include system repair tools such as "repair/replace broken registry" and "scan for and restore/recreate missing system files" (helpful for those who debloated Windows and accidentally removed some important Windows features). Those features are only available in paid third party system repair tools so far

@@Ze_eT Unfortunately, i do not defend Microsoft, and i don't like their Practices as well. In Addition to that, Microsoft is also slowly Imitating Nintendo at this Point, in which, the Introduction of Windows 11 was like Nintendo is going to Announce the Discontinuation of Nintendo Switch Immediately with a Replacement Console. Microsoft's Anti-Consumer Practice on Forcing People on Windows 11 to use Edge instead of chrome is Like Nintendo is Forcing their Consumers to buy a Another Switch for a Another Island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. However, Microsoft is far more worse than that, but they are slowly Imitating Nintendo's Anti-Consumer Practices.
The Only Difference is, Nintendo is a Japanese Company, so that's why they're Like that, but for Microsoft, it's a Different Story, and not to mention, they are a American Company, so they are Taking Advantage of Capitalism and their Freedoms for their Anti-Consumer Practices, at least Microsoft didn't even sued a Computer Store for allowing their Customers rent a Rentable Version of Windows 3.1 or MS-DOS, unlike what Nintendo sued Blockbusters because they are not just Copying their Instruction Manual, but also Renting their Games that even Nintendo doesn't wanted to do so. In the end, Both of them is Anti-Consumer, but Microsoft wins than Nintendo does.
@@marcfatimania Wait, can you clarify? The main Youtubers I know which tell others to use Linux are far from forcing Linux, at worst telling others how terrible Microsoft is. And there is no way you believe calling out Anti-Consumer practices is an Anti-Consumer practice in itself. And Windows does do what you are essentially claiming to be "unlike what [this] Compan[y] does". I have heard many horror stories of people waking up to their computers having W11 installed. Some say it is just them not carefully looking at what they click; I say that Microsoft designed it that way, considering the "Install W11" OOBE you occasionally get highlights the installation button and makes the alternative options almost hidden, with the most you can do being delaying the OOBE by 3 days. Microsoft is most certainly tricking people, and thus essentially forcing people, into installing W11. Youtubers, at most, can make you fear Microsoft/Windows and tell you to use Linux. Windows can fearmonger, shove PUPs into your face, use the fear of change to their advantage, prevent you from using any other OS due to work, school, or other reasons, and trick you into installing W11. Microsoft has also done worse; remember when they added code to Windows 3.1 explicitly to prevent people from using a competing DOS, completely ending it, while not actually improving on what the competing DOS was beating them at (AARD Code)? In short: Microsoft is Largely Anti-Consumer, unlike what these Youtubers do. (Plus, Anti-consumer assumes you are actually the one responsible for the product; Youtubers do not own Linux, that's ridiculous to say, but Microsoft owns Windows.) E: Also found in another discussion on this comment section, a rather neat documents about Microsoft's thoughts in regards to Linux. https://web.archive.org/web/20051225052023/http://www.catb.org/~esr/halloween/index.html They have been acknowledged and verified by Microsoft themselves, and show that Microsoft's anti-consumer practices are known to Microsoft themselves, to the point they explicitly have a strategy to spread fear, uncertainty and doubt (FUD). I don't care how much you are willing to defend Microsoft, at the very least you have to admit Microsoft does use anti-consumer practices in an attempt to eliminate competition. No Youtuber has that power.
@@marcfatimania No, they aren't forcing you to use Linux, but they show how anti-consumer M$ sometimes is. At least Enderman doesn't force you to use Linux, few others might try to. If you want to keep using Windows or any other OS, sure, you can do it.

My experience with PC Health Check: Opened it, saw everything was either pushing me to get Windows 11 and to turn my local account into a Microsoft account. Clicked the button to check whether I'm eligible for Windows 11, I am but I don't want it so I go to my BIOS and disable the TPM, run its check again, I'm no longer eligible, good. Then I closed the app and haven't touched it since. I do think I'll eventually upgrade to Windows 11, but I want to wait 1-2 years for them to work out the bugs and add something more compelling than round corners and a start button that's harder to blind click because it isn't in the corner. Or I might backup, upgrade sooner and then restore 10 if they announce an end to the free upgrade period, just to lock in my upgrade key. Same deal as I did when 10 came out and I was using 8.1.
As for "The processor has 2 or more cores? YES! Processor cores: 1", I think it isn't actually checking that. I think the way it works is it has a list of processors it considers compatible, and i7-12700K is on the list so it says it's good to go even though you have it in a VM that only has 1 core allocated to it. Maybe they didn't think of that, or maybe they figured that if you find it to be too slow with 1 core you can pretty easily allocate a second core to your VM.
This plus windows update not asking before removing important components or applying registry tweaks that need fixing after is why I disable windows update via the group policy settings, now if I did not game and hence get tied to direct X and signature checking engines I would be using Linux(Debian like my laptop) but instead I have to keep repairing/correcting the os I use even if credit where due the build of explorer for Windows 7 is nice to use but other then some user friendly stuff, it is not self maintaining and requires documentation of bugs and weird behaviours due to its black box "use and burn" mentality.
I agree. The only reason I don't use Linux on my daily driver is because I have too many programs that are unsupported. I am also staying on Windows 10 until it is no longer supported, but maybe by that time devs will realize that porting programs to Linux may actually be worth it.
Tbh, I don't know if I'd want many of them to. The most compatible packaging format like flatpak is too privacy and user control focused for them to allow, and the fact Chrome just says lol just download and install the .deb file proves most will give as little support as possible if they do port.

Some random user might think this is a scam, yes. Windows 11 is just macOS and windows 10 combining gone wrong. The windows 11 being the ugly duckling and windows 10 is like the windows 7 and windows 8/8.1 thing all over again after the windows xp and windows vista thing. They tried making Microsoft edge popular after internet explorer lost a lot of people from other browsers like google chrome but they did good because some people use it but, less than google chrome.
try and create too many partitions on the windows xp setup. if you do too many (run out of drive letters) it wont format and fail to boot next time. trying to run the installation again gives a keyboard error, basically bricking the vm. if you do it right you can have windows on any drive letter you want AND not have a C: drive letter at all! this persists thru upgrades (at least to 7). i had windows xp install itself to the Z: drive, system partition as the D: drive, leaving C: free for use! although it doesnt do anything interesting (that i know of) its still weird seeing windows without a C: drive. i wonder how 10 or 11 would react to it. ive had this happen to me on accident, when for the lulz i dual booted 10 and xp on my laptop, and the XP setup recognized the 10 partition as C: and installed itself to the D: partition! this actually confuses some software that expects windows to just be on C:

Yes, microsoft edge is a good brower, no I don't want to use it, chrome is faster and it's what I'm used to. windows 11 is a good OS and if you purchace StartAllBack, it becomes a very good OS, but microsoft has no reason to preinstall a rogue on your system, or even in the windows 10 days blanking your screen and force updating hoping the user just ignored the warning that it was going to update you. shame on you microsoft. you're capable of making good software. 11 likes“Visual rejuvenation” where “every detail matters” just not met.
1 likeAnd Windows does do what you are essentially claiming to be "unlike what [this] Compan[y] does".
(Plus, Anti-consumer assumes you are actually the one responsible for the product; Youtubers do not own Linux, that's ridiculous to say, but Microsoft owns Windows.)
E: Also found in another discussion on this comment section, a rather neat documents about Microsoft's thoughts in regards to Linux. https://web.archive.org/web/20051225052023/http://www.catb.org/~esr/halloween/index.html
They have been acknowledged and verified by Microsoft themselves, and show that Microsoft's anti-consumer practices are known to Microsoft themselves, to the point they explicitly have a strategy to spread fear, uncertainty and doubt (FUD). I don't care how much you are willing to defend Microsoft, at the very least you have to admit Microsoft does use anti-consumer practices in an attempt to eliminate competition. No Youtuber has that power.

If you want to keep using Windows or any other OS, sure, you can do it.
I had a Large Question, Are those "YouTubers" forcing everyone to use Linux by making those kind of Videos? I'm wondering about it, since if it was, it is Largely Anti-consumer unlike what does Companies does.

Clicked the button to check whether I'm eligible for Windows 11, I am but I don't want it so I go to my BIOS and disable the TPM, run its check again, I'm no longer eligible, good. Then I closed the app and haven't touched it since.
2 likesI do think I'll eventually upgrade to Windows 11, but I want to wait 1-2 years for them to work out the bugs and add something more compelling than round corners and a start button that's harder to blind click because it isn't in the corner.

Every single person that uses Linux has learnt it after Windows or Mac OS (not o.s.).
"which i literally barely understand how it works, as i also tried to use it?" - You stated that you used Windows for YEARS, how many hours did you try Linux for? On top of that you could not possibly be lost, there is an app store. Do not tell me that your phone (that uses modded Linux) is hard for you too.
"the change i want is microsoft actually respecting user's privacy and respect the past stuff that made them so big" - Microsoft doesn't change like that. They do not and never will care about you. Just leave them behind.

You stated that you dislike what is done to Windows. What is done to Windows is what Windows is, not anything else.

But if you were following the Windows 11 news at the time then you knew exactly what this was, Microsoft even made announcements about the software itself. You'd have to be completely ignorant about technology to not have known what this software was.

1 liketry and create too many partitions on the windows xp setup. if you do too many (run out of drive letters) it wont format and fail to boot next time. trying to run the installation again gives a keyboard error, basically bricking the vm.
0 likesif you do it right you can have windows on any drive letter you want AND not have a C: drive letter at all! this persists thru upgrades (at least to 7). i had windows xp install itself to the Z: drive, system partition as the D: drive, leaving C: free for use! although it doesnt do anything interesting (that i know of) its still weird seeing windows without a C: drive. i wonder how 10 or 11 would react to it.
ive had this happen to me on accident, when for the lulz i dual booted 10 and xp on my laptop, and the XP setup recognized the 10 partition as C: and installed itself to the D: partition! this actually confuses some software that expects windows to just be on C:

Yes, microsoft edge is a good brower, no I don't want to use it, chrome is faster and it's what I'm used to.
windows 11 is a good OS and if you purchace StartAllBack, it becomes a very good OS, but microsoft has no reason to preinstall a rogue on your system, or even in the windows 10 days blanking your screen and force updating hoping the user just ignored the warning that it was going to update you.
