@@eloskowy4954 Yes but if you install windows it will create the partitions, windows can create partitions in a mac because there are people that uses macs with windows I think.
I once swapped a HDD (with Windows installed) with an SSD. In theory it should've been easy (just copy the partitions bit by bit), except the SSD was smaller so I only copied one partition. Windows also had a drive letter assigned to the new one already which might have been a problem. Either way, I spent a couple hours editing the registry so that Windows knows where to boot from, but it worked in the end.
Why not just reinstall Windows on that drive? It would have been easier and would have given you a clean slate. Sure, it's kind of a hassle to set everything up again, but it also means any crust or weirdness from the old installation ("Windows rot") doesn't carry over.
I recently had something happen to me in Windows 7 like this, with my boot drive letter being changed from C:/ to D:/ (I eventually figured out). Had identical problems with trying to boot and it hanging. This happened a few months ago and happened while I was doing AMD Radeon complete removal so I could install an older version. After the removal I rebooted to this headache. Instead of working on it longer I just bought an SSD and did a manual transfer of files, along with a fresh Win7 OS install.
This is a common problem when moving Windows installs to another partition while keeping the original one intact. The solution is to mount the SYSTEM registry hive offline (such as in WinPE) and then navigate to the MountedDevices key under it. This is in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices on a live system but the SYSTEM name will vary depending on how you mount it. You can either just delete all of the values under that key (they'll be recreated on boot) or if you know what drive letters were incorrect, you can fix them manually by renaming the relevant \DosDevices values.
Fun fact about B:, B: is not your "usual" floppy drive, but the older type 5.25" floppy drive, that used absolutely HUGE floppy disks that had even less space than floppy disks :D
fun fact: im a linux user and actually know that /dev/sda1 is the ~500mb FAT partition. /dev/sda2 is the "main" partition where all user-created things are stored(and which gets full faster then [insert VERY fast thing in here]. )
2:25 - Cannot divide by zero 2:31 - Calculator freezes because it divided by zero Calculator lasted only 11 seconds in this video.. (Actually it lasted 35 seconds after the C: drive letter was removed.)
C:\ Windows/system32/delete copy that and paste it in command prompt on windows then click enter and then y and then enter and that is how u delete system32 pls don’t try this on a real computer just do it on a Windows virtual machine ok?
We can also use diskpart. 1. sel disk 0 2. list vol 3. sel vol (your windows volume) 4. remove all diskmount (but this is unmounting your selected volume
So, what happens if you create a drive for every letter of the alphabet, and then connect an additional flash drive or something? Will it just be invisible?
so, question; provided you had some form of installation image or something for recovery, could you potentially mess with something like diskpart and/or wmic to un-hide the drive and resetting the letter back to C, or is the system completely bricked?
I think it gets stuck on the startup screen because the bootloader uses UNC paths but when it tries to load other things and it switches to using drive letters it just is stuck waiting for a response but it can't access the file.
Windows XP does this sometimes when you have another partition. It gets really annoying because when you try to install certain programs that require CDs, those programs don’t like it because it isn’t being installed to C:\
What if you have 2 installed Windows copies mounted as C and D, unmount BOTH and mount D as C? Would it read data from the other copy? What if C is a Win10 copy and D is a Win 7 copy? And viceversa? How would Windows react?
What windows should do to run Safe Mode would be creating a external partition with VITAL drivers and services and then run them to make the PC functional even if things like THAT happen
It's like throwing someone under water for 5 minutes, tempDamage may occur; but after getting it out the water they're still alive and then big breath for Windows aswell.
Yes. Protean is an already existing Pokémon ability that can be had by Kecleon and Greninja. It turns the user into the type of the move they last used. C:\ drive
If you somehow reboot by accident or close the program, here's what you have to do.
Step 1: get the hard drive file of the VM and use it as a different drive, if it is a real computer you will need to take out the hard drive out and plug it in to a another computer
When Calculator stopped responding around 2:33, I thought of something that I've never found answers about: When a window stops responding, the close button glows a bit brighter, and the restore down button is disabled. Wonder why that's the case.
i didn't know you can actually name drivers with unicodes! although it breaked windows 7 system but at least calculator still knows devide by zero is impossible.
I can imagine a kid deleting their C drive without knowing it's important. Like a YouTube video said "how to get free money" and it had the same steps as this video.
Hey bro, you told removing C: in Windows 10 is not interesting. Wouldn't Windows 10 show up the errors as same as Windows 7? What did you mean by the sentence?
once i tried to put windows on a: partition (i dont have any floppy drives). i couldn't, i was hit by errors. so i made a partition and tried to assign it on a: but i couldn't, because "it was too big". then i made it about 2gb and it worked, but the read / write was so slow, and felt like windows tried to "emulate" floppy behavior on that drive. b: worked without any issues, tho.
important question, tho: what happens if you consume all of the 32 partition letters? how does windows behave in that case?

How does Windows know what to put in error popups, or even when it should put up popups at all if the drive is inaccessible? Is all of that in the RAM?
But if the C: drive was hid, wasn't Windows supposed to crash? Cuz without the drive, Windows doesn't have any drives where to exist. Or are some vital files stored on the RAM, like Solitaire?
what if you make the drive letter 'con' yes its 3 letters but should still be possible. if now what about making the driver letter some symbol like . or \ with some trickery
I did computer shopping on Dells website last may and almost all computer now comes with dual drives. Like my desktop I got last may came with a SSD that the windows is on and you can save stuff to it. They also give you the normal data HDD which is what I usually save my data too.
Enderman: I have removed a virus Me: I have also removed a virus Enderman: viruses have you removed? I have removed like 100 Me: I have removed One (ye eight years old me learned that the hard way)
in the beginning back in the ms-dos days, computers would only have floppy disk drives (A:/) and since there were two common sizes of floppy and both programs and the OS were run off of floppy, some computers had two (A:/ and B:/). when hard drives came along since A:/ and B:/ were already floppy disks "by law" so to speak and not all computers even had hard drives, hard drives were assigned to C:/ by default instead, even in computers with a single floppy drive and HDD, just for consistency between systems. and for completeness, the same thing happened with optical disk drives when they came along, since A:/ B:/ and C:/ were already 'spoken for' by default, they were assigned to D:/ by default. and all of those default drive letters were carried over all the way from ms-dos to modern windows
you can still plug a (usb) floppy drive into windows 10/11 and it will be recognized and assigned to drive A:/ - so those defaults are still kinda in use. so that's why your hard drive is C and not something that makes more sense
Enderman, this is a suggestion for your website, if you can do this, try to get Linux or macOS Operating Systems. Could be useful for some people and for your videos.
@@ThatRandomToast i did this a year ago, but still i remember some details:
i ran this command in windows 7 on a laptop that i got for reinstalling the OS and i thought, yeah, if i'm gonna replace the os in this, why not to mess up a little?
so i started playing with cmd and this mountvol thing and i found that /D switch can remove mount points, so:
mountvol C: /D with a few programs open, and them started to fail, then i rebooted and i got that message and the 'automatic repair' thing, sure it's got repaired but it took a long time to windows to figure the C: drive was not assigned
(sorry if i had any errors, english is not my language)
@@tflsh what they're asking is it possible to perform the BCPE (Bootscreen-Command-Prompt-Exploit) on Windows XP and make it launchable as a kind of MS-DOS mode.
Got a suggestion! Delete HKEY Local machine\Microsoft\Windows! Do it on a unactivated Windows 7 OS (preferably vrbox) Regedit will hang up, just close it. It will say when you open basically anything a message box saying Illegal action on a key marked for deletion. Startup repair can’t repair it

Great you destroyed windows explorer and fucked up your computer and there’s no saving it, other than buying and installing a new hard drive and copy of Windows
drive C:\ without the C isnt actually drive C. which means if you delete the C then the drive is not drive C anymore which means drive C just disappeared into nothingness(i mean, physically)(which can mean your entire hard drive just physically disappeared) and you have an unnamed drive on your computer.
Think about that no seriously, just think about that for a while
the endless boot screen is windows loading CLASSPNP.SYS then getting far enough into the boot process for the animation to have loaded, but the partition hide to take effect.

in the beginning back in the ms-dos days, computers would only have floppy disk drives (A:/) and since there were two common sizes of floppy and both programs and the OS were run off of floppy, some computers had two (A:/ and B:/). when hard drives came along since A:/ and B:/ were already floppy disks "by law" so to speak and not all computers even had hard drives, hard drives were assigned to C:/ by default instead, even in computers with a single floppy drive and HDD, just for consistency between systems. and for completeness, the same thing happened with optical disk drives when they came along, since A:/ B:/ and C:/ were already 'spoken for' by default, they were assigned to D:/ by default. and all of those default drive letters were carried over all the way from ms-dos to modern windows
0 likesyou can still plug a (usb) floppy drive into windows 10/11 and it will be recognized and assigned to drive A:/ - so those defaults are still kinda in use. so that's why your hard drive is C and not something that makes more sense

I am not sure, Enderman could all find ways to do this, NT Kernel Epoch starts at 1/1/1601, i think you could set the year to 1601 tho.

@@ThatRandomToast i did this a year ago, but still i remember some details:
0 likesi ran this command in windows 7 on a laptop that i got for reinstalling the OS and i thought, yeah, if i'm gonna replace the os in this, why not to mess up a little?
so i started playing with cmd and this mountvol thing and i found that /D switch can remove mount points, so:
mountvol C: /D with a few programs open, and them started to fail, then i rebooted and i got that message and the 'automatic repair' thing, sure it's got repaired but it took a long time to windows to figure the C: drive was not assigned
(sorry if i had any errors, english is not my language)

drive C:\ without the C isnt actually drive C. which means if you delete the C then the drive is not drive C anymore which means drive C just disappeared into nothingness(i mean, physically)(which can mean your entire hard drive just physically disappeared) and you have an unnamed drive on your computer.
