That time, I had forgotten to eject my SCSI dock and just switched the drives before turning my computer on a day later. It acted like it still had the previous HDD connected and attempted to load different data. Resulted in a BSOD and I had to ``chkdsk /F`` on that disk. Fortunately I didn't lose any files, but it seemed like I had.
this may be possible by creating two hard drives, corrupting one, booting back into the uncorrupted hard-drive, suspending the VM, renaming the uncorrupted hard drive to something random while renaming the corrupted one to what the uncorrupted one was named as, and then restarting the suspended VM

that would only happen if an advanced virus would be installed on the vm, destroying/corrupting VM's does not affect your main computer or its hardware
I tried making a program that would redirect disk accesses in Win95 to RAM. Apparently there were bugs with it, the system became unstable.
Also interesting was when I had the disk writes do nothing, but report success to the OS. That actually didn't crash, but files you created would disappear later.

I think you can just disconnect the internet adapter thingy in VM's config, so your VM won't have access to internet or your local network. I would also recommend to physically disconnect Ethernet cable from your PC and disable file transfer between your host machine and VM, just in case if some stuff goes wrong.
just try it on your mobile hotspot and it should only spread to the host of that mobile, giving an error when it runs since the code of desktop malware is different than the code of mobile malware. however im not sure so just test another virus that doesnt replicate itself when it is ran OR remove the line of code that makes WannaCry spread through your wifi

Enderman, there is a bug in my vista. If you can, please send me steps on my email how to fix it. The bug is that if I turn my vista on on normal mode after 20-30 seconds it gives me a bsod. Have you tried to get checkdisk to run? It might be due to corrupted files (i doubt it though if you can boot into safe mode but normal mode BSODs). Do a checkdisk for good measure if you can and if that's not possible try to download anything important on there onto something like google drive through safe mode and just buy a new device or smth

But if I boot it up on safe mode it is acting normal.

1 likeHave you tried to get checkdisk to run? It might be due to corrupted files (i doubt it though if you can boot into safe mode but normal mode BSODs). Do a checkdisk for good measure if you can and if that's not possible try to download anything important on there onto something like google drive through safe mode and just buy a new device or smth
