Adaware in REALITY: “wait, people are abusing OUR cdn to store malware?? Thanks for letting us know to make our cdn more isolated! We didn’t know random people stored stuff as a counter for antivirus!”
I don’t think Adaware is storing malware on their CDN, it has to be random hackers abusing the way their CDN was built
oh, so those sites i found that were faking my computer having a virus weren't actually trying to steal my license information, they were just trying to get me to buy that mcafee antivirus thing...
My brother tried to install "hacks" today and ended up with some 'PC App Store' bullcrap, which gave him a 'protect your pc' ad that he couldnt close, and he also had some browser hijacker which would redirect him to Ask or Yahoo. Don't be like my brother and install random crap from the internet.
I don't worry about that crap !! I know where everything i install comes from and i know it in malware spyware and virus free !! That is what you get when you run on linux !!
also, avast free antivirus when, it says: Your location/ip is avaible to anyone, BE AWARE AND BUY OUR FUCCIN PRODUCT TO 1 SEC PROTECTION FOR 9999.9999$, also he JUST FRICK'N SAY OUR FRICKIN IP/LOCATION BRO
Adaware are not only spreading malwares, but they are also lying in the contact us page saying they are the first free antimalware created in 1999... lol
I stop using antivirus for ages now, somewhere in '08-'09. After that, i dont trust them anymore because of i know theyre the one creating a virus. Thats the reason i became my own antivirus, i stop being stupid and always watch my traffic and processes whenever i get new things from the internet.
Enderman is quoting truth! Nortons programmers walked away. McAfee died in 2010. It reminds me of a 1992 early version of a good spyware, which was too local in USA. An old lady then talked to same company and offered a full spread of distribution thru her company, not yet too well known. He agreed sent her 5K disks. She became known as the wicked witch of the west, Colorado. She had put HER own malware in the exceptions list of his appy. So in essence he aided her spying appy through out the USA.. She was caught a year later. Life goes on.
Believe it or not but Brazilian internet installers (people and enterprise) forces to install damn McAfee on your router and I'm so tired of getting disk shredding Trojans out of nowhere...last time was a real nightmare, i just fkn hate brazillian ignorance
Can you do a video on any changes made to YouTube and Google for Russian users. Basically the Russian government is going after Google for not censoring somethings.
I mean if you're hard drive is nothing but viruses do you even have anything to lose or do they. They aren't going to get any of my data all the viruses can do is attack each other.
It's utterly baffling to think we've reached a point where not even antivirus companies can be trusted anymore. Is this really final form capitalism? An era where all industries in all sectors are completely untrustworthy scumbags, all vying to screw over consumers the most? And at a period where Linux is at its worst no less? How'd we get here???
Installcore is a legitimate installer framework, However malware developers fork it for malicious purpose... Also Antivirus companies spreading malware is more common than you might think. I have seen Norton and McAfee develop scareware that downloads a bunch of viruses and gets you to pay to remove them (Pretty much a ransomware)
There's also fake "Download this program to remove this threat" websites that still come up when looking up how to remove viruses, masquerading as instructions when they just want to download their program.
I hate Avast antivirus because the company is desperate for money and you can tell that because it gives you at least 1 notification per 1 - 3 days saying something like your location is exposed and when you click it, it says buy the full version just to get that protection so it really tries just to scare you into thinking you have may have malware on your computer or your location is exposed to the public just to get you to buy their software. I know it's a good way to roll in money and it is used by a lot of companies, but for me, avast does it too much and I honestly think its a stupid solution for quick cash.
Lavasoft is just another shady company trying to clean up their dirty past like TotalAV. Meanwhile, as a fun fact, they were also hit by the infamous Komodia SDK that nearly nuked Lenovo back in 2015. Just put them on the personal blacklist.
They literally named their antivirus "Adaware"... It really sounds like it will defend my PC by adding enough viruses for the PC to get unusable so it can no longer be infected

@@markusTegelane That is a really bad mindset about things in general because it locks you into mediocracy. You should always look for things that could be better. I don't mean that you should complain about anything at hand but you should always be able to be open minded about things that could be better. When you have access to two very similar products you shouldn't choose one from another just because the company behind the inferior copycat product is "at least allowing you to install extensions from the superior product's web store". The superior product already does it all so why are you even bothering with the inferior product.

6 likes@@ilker2445 Because it simply isn’t the same as the new Edge. New Edge is based on Chromium, the old one was using Microsoft’s own technologies. Basically, the new Edge is a better Chrome than Chrome (tough it isn't perfect of course).
17 likesEdit: I changed my opinion about the "better Chrome than Chrome" part, it’s more like a "Microsoftified Chrome", which isn’t neccesarily a good thing. I tried it for a month, before I ended up switching to Firefox instead, cuz Microsoft popups got in my way too much and it was really annoying. 5 likes@@genuinescorruption Because without viruses, anti-virus won't exists, and they need to sell their product, but you won't need the necesity if there's not a threat, i had one met a dude, that literally worked for a company computer making viruses, why? he said, spreading viruses, makes people wanting to find a solution, so that's how things works, you can't sell a solution without a problem.
6 likes@@parkouremaster Yes; but for what purpose? Malware development is still software development; it's time consuming work. Plus there could be a financial cost to spreading it. So what would have been the point if it couldn't translate into some kind of profit? Before the data era, I can't imagine why you'd spend time writing software that causes computers to malfunction if your intention wasn't to sell a remedy. I'd be interested in other theories though.
2 likes@@genuinescorruption Not necessary, they could just make small viruses with only the function of slowing your pc, or giving you some crashes

0 likes@@BadWolfBlueForReal I wouldn't recommend anyone who has no idea of how computers to get something better since like half of antiviruses are bullshit so such person might install some Avast that spams them with ads or other shit. And really, back when I used windows I had SecureAPlus which has a base of engines in cloud built-in. Defender had as good detection rates as other engines, and many bullshit engines either didn't detect real dangers or detected lots of false positives. As I said for a home user Defender is enough. Keep in mind those advanced features and stats mean nothing to someone who isn't a tech fan.
2 likesIf you're running a company or some government office, it's different. I'd recommend a good antivirus that is known for doing its work great.
@@toslaw9615 It's ok. It has lower detection rates than other AVs but still detects some things. It also has very basic PC health reports and lacks additional features. 1 likeHere’s a funny story. Actually, I almost caught inferior scareware on chrome, i was casually going to an url/mp3 converter like the idiot i was, and i got redirected to a sketchy place saying i had like 500 inferior viruses, i clicked the “X” on the window to get out, and it turns out a rather fake looking warning was at the bottom corner of my pc, i knew i had scareware so i did everything I could, and I eventually removed it, and no, i did NOT download mcafee, and i see that as a wise decision.

@keithsze001 I've set Gentoo up. It's pretty brittle. Emerging world can take considerably longer than 2 hours with anything besides the most bare of installs.
0 likesI can personally recommend Debian Linux. I've been running it for years and I've never had any virus. It's free to use too. Very nice. Although getting it to burn a CD can be a bit of a challenge. i use third party software to do that myself and getting it to run is not an easy thing to do. Plus poor Jorg is dead today. :( So I don't know how much longer his software will even work.

0 likesa antivirus free trial that creates a virus then deletes it with one scan would be very scummy but amazing marketing
0 likesWho ever came up with Anti Virus Programs that actually install Malware, clearly has no Soul
0 likesEnderman is quoting truth!

0 likesI think antiviruses are scam. They are all useless
0 likesIt's utterly baffling to think we've reached a point where not even antivirus companies can be trusted anymore. Is this really final form capitalism? An era where all industries in all sectors are completely untrustworthy scumbags, all vying to screw over consumers the most? And at a period where Linux is at its worst no less? How'd we get here???
0 likesInstallcore is a legitimate installer framework, However malware developers fork it for malicious purpose... Also Antivirus companies spreading malware is more common than you might think. I have seen Norton and McAfee develop scareware that downloads a bunch of viruses and gets you to pay to remove them (Pretty much a ransomware)
0 likesThere's also fake "Download this program to remove this threat" websites that still come up when looking up how to remove viruses, masquerading as instructions when they just want to download their program.
0 likesI hate Avast antivirus because the company is desperate for money and you can tell that because it gives you at least 1 notification per 1 - 3 days saying something like your location is exposed and when you click it, it says buy the full version just to get that protection so it really tries just to scare you into thinking you have may have malware on your computer or your location is exposed to the public just to get you to buy their software. I know it's a good way to roll in money and it is used by a lot of companies, but for me, avast does it too much and I honestly think its a stupid solution for quick cash.
1 likeStupid persons buy mcafee and norton
