One of the many fantastical, fuzzy European progressive bands that will be unearthed and made available to prog-buying audiences is ASIA MINOR, which released only two very small albums in the late 1970s. This band took a more unusual turn in the genre popularized by CAMEL, with mostly instrumental rock (what are the lyrics, sung in unusually accentuated English), with folk and ethnic influences, with lots of flutes, guitars and keyboards.
The two albums are "Crossing The Line" and "Between Flesh and Divine", and the latter is absolutely essential. While the similarly dreamy French progressive PULSAR relied on PINK FLOYD and KING CRIMSON influences. Excellent and original, indispensable for all fans of Progressive Rock.............. Ladislav&Zivanovic.......When they appeared in the early 1980s, Asia looked like it was being held back from the '70s, when supergroups and self-important progressive rockers reigned supreme. With members of such seminal artistic rock bands as King Crimson (John Wetton), Emerson, Lake & Palmer (Carl Palmer) and Yes (Steve Howe), as well as Geoff Downes of the Buggles, Asia had shares of indulgent instruments on its records. However, they could also be a surprising poppy, and that's what brought them to the top of the charts with their debut album, Asia and hit single, "Heat of the Moment." L’un des nombreux groupes progressifs européens fantastiques et flous qui seront déterrés et mis à la disposition du public d’achat prog est ASIA MINOR, qui n’a sorti que deux très petits albums à la fin des années 1970. Ce groupe a pris une tournure plus inhabituelle dans le genre popularisé par CAMEL, avec principalement du rock instrumental (quelles sont les paroles, chantées dans un anglais inhabituellement accentué), avec des influences folkloriques et ethniques, avec beaucoup de flûtes, de guitares et de claviers.
