I like how these episodes balance the Earth and Amphibia aspects, from the museum and the Thai culture to the mystery of that Amphibian text. Good episode’s though.
I really enjoyed your reaction. It's fun re-watching these episodes with you. There are quite a few things I have forgotten about season 3. It was around this time back then that I noticed a shift in tone with the way the episodes were written. Apparently Disney was not happy with the ending of season 2 (They delayed the episode and wanted Matt Braly to include a warning at the start and a season 3 preview at the end) and there was some influence from Disney in these first season 3 episodes to make them lighter. However, the stakes will go higher than ever before in the future.
What I do love about these early season 3 episodes is that we get to see Anne act in a human environment and her interactions with her parents are among my favorite things in this show.
On a sidenote, The Owl House finale (55 minutes) will air this Saturday. I'm both looking forward to it and dreading it. Yet another show I didn't want to end. (Thanks Disney)
Thank you for your wonderful reactions. I hope you're doing well in El Paso. Take care!
Dr Jan's voice actress (Anika Noni Rose) also played the main protagonist Tiana in 'the Princess the the Frog'...which makes this the second time she's in a Disney animation with talking frogs in it...which also has a villain played by Keith David.
Season 2 episode 6: “duh we’re not anarchists Anne!”
6 likesSeason 3 episode 4: “EAT THE RICH”
Now that’s what I call character progression😅😂

To be honest, the king literally tried to kill him and his family in between these two lines.

1 likeThe thing about Dr. Jan. Looks like her voice actor still has a penchant for being around frogs since 2009.
