I wouldn’t dismiss the fact that the Great Seedling is an existing creature. After all, there’s been a few Equestrian legends that have been proven to be real (The Mare in the Moon/Nightmare Moon, the Pony of Shadows, even Grogar).
Of course it's real. I even have an OC, it's the opposite of The Great Seedling, a dark evil version. Kills trees, all plants go dead when it come near. It might have to do something with the Apple Parents deaths...I have an entire headcannon with lore. The Great Death Seed has some relation with Timberwolves, which could be the cause of Bright Mac and Pear Butters death .
It's always nice to see some AJ and AB sisterly bonding. One of my favorite sibling dynamics in the show. I feel kinda sorry for Big Mac though. He really got the short end of the stick in all of this. Poor guy must feel like a trainwreck after so much unrest.
This may be one of my favorite Apple-focused episodes of the entire series. It's great to see their parents again, even if only for an all-too-brief moment, and I'm so glad they finally acknowledged the carrots that we'd been seeing in the background of Sweet Apple Acres for years!
When Apple boom says I don’t believe it that’s actually a reference to a British sitcom called 1 foot in the grave that ran from 1990 to 2000 on the BBC
I’m glad we got to see Bright Mac and Buttercup with their children in that flashback. That’s another thing I wanted to see in S9.

I had completely forgotten about that. I’m really happy they included it in this episode.

8 likesBecause the writers wanted to remind us of that random joke from Slice of Life.
We will never know the true appearance of the Great Seedling...
11 likesThough Applebloom’s obsession over seeing it is definitely how Linus is with the Great Pumpkin.

1 likeI found this to a boring episode. The character shifts are rather jarring. Big Mac gets way too much abuse. The ending is kind of dumb.
