For those wondering:
CON=CONsole which is keyboard and monitor
AUX=AUXiliary an Alias for COM1
PRN=PRiNter an Alias for LPT1:
COM(x)=COMmunications Port (x), serial port
LPT(x)=Line PrinTer (x), Parallel Port

Note, that while these are the defaults, they can be changed, especially on MS-DOS systems. This was possible to allow people to use serial printers with applications that only interfaced with LPT(x) or PRN. It is also possible to copy between devices as well as devices and files.

There is a way to delete con if you moved a file inside:
1:
Type mountvol on the command line
2:
Copy c:\ drive volume unc path.
3:
Type start uncpathofthedrive (paste the unc path)
4:
Go to the directory that con folder is in
5:
Right click-delete
6:
Empty recycle bin
This actualy works, i tested this on my host pc

Hi! You said that if we put a file in the con folder the folder will be undeletable. I discovered a way to get around this. If you run del C:\[Directory]\con\[File] the file in the con folder will be deleted and then you can proceed to run rd \\.\C:\Directory\con and it will work.

Hi Enderman i found that i can rename like word documents,powerpoint,excel documents into con,aux and more.....But if you save it at Onedrive it says the file can't be saved in Onedrive. Can you tell me it is the same as the unusable file named con or other else? Like exp:I go to Onedrive.com and create a new word document....And than I named it as aux....And than i saved a copy into onedrive ......It started working! But after that it say the file'aux.docs' can't be upload to onedrive' Can you try it?
