Kolibrijev drugi album puno je hrabrije i zanimljivije djelo od njihovog prvijenca, iako manje melodičnog. Prije svega nema vokala, to je sve instrumentalna ploča u kojoj ima više originalnosti i, da, progresivnija je. I glavni solisti Ingo Höricht (gitara, violina) i Hans Kumfert (bas, klasična gitara, poprečna flauta) i novi član Torsten Ribbe (poprečna flauta) mnogo su kreativniji, a najvažniji novi element u njihovom glazbenom potu je jazzier zvuk (čak su na ovaj LP uključili i klasičnu pjesmu Davea Brubecka Take Five). Ovdje je sve potpuno akustično osim dijelova basa. Postoji vrlo malo udaraljki koje će malo začiniti neke dijelove nekoliko pjesama.
Najbolja melodija je posljednja, Yedigün, klasičnije orijentirana i melodična, a još uvijek vrlo originalna, s nekoliko promjena tempa i raspoloženja. Ništa za pisati kući o tome, naravno, ali to je valjana izjava i ugodno slušanje cijelo vrijeme. Šteta što nisu još malo istražili svoje očite talente. Le deuxième album de .Colibri est une œuvre beaucoup plus audacieuse et intéressante que leur premier, bien que moins mélodique. Tout d'abord il n'y a pas de vocal, c'est tout un disque instrumental dans lequel il y a plus d'originalité et, oui, c'est plus progressif. Les solistes principaux Ingo Höricht (guitare, violon) et Hans Kumfert (basse, guitare classique, flûte traversière) et le nouveau membre Torsten Ribbe (flûte traversière) sont beaucoup plus créatifs, et le nouvel élément le plus important dans leur pot musical est un son plus jazz. ce LP comprenait également la chanson classique de Dave Brubeck Take Five). Tout ici est complètement acoustique à l'exception de certaines parties de la basse. Il y a très peu d'instruments de percussion qui viendront pimenter un peu certaines parties de quelques chansons.
Le meilleur morceau est le dernier, Yedigün, plus classique et mélodique, et toujours très original, avec quelques changements de tempo et d'ambiance. Rien d'extraordinaire, bien sûr, mais c'est une déclaration valable et une écoute agréable tout le temps. Dommage qu'ils n'aient pas exploré un peu plus leurs talents évidents. Avec une instrumentation plus large, ils auraient probablement un impact plus important sur la scène prog (comme certains claviers et sections rythmiques, mais je suppose). Hummingbird's second album is a much bolder and more interesting work than their debut, albeit a less melodic one. First of all there is no vocal, it is all an instrumental record in which there is more originality and, yes, it is more progressive. Both lead soloists Ingo Höricht (guitar, violin) and Hans Kumfert (bass, classical guitar, transverse flute) and new member Torsten Ribbe (transverse flute) are much more creative, and the most important new element in their musical pot is jazzier sound. this LP also included Dave Brubeck’s classic song Take Five). Everything here is completely acoustic except for parts of the bass. There are very few percussion instruments that will spice up some parts of a few songs a bit.
The best tune is the last one, Yedigün, more classically oriented and melodic, and still very original, with a few changes of tempo and mood. Nothing to write home about, of course, but it’s a valid statement and enjoyable listening all the time. Too bad they haven’t explored their obvious talents a bit more. With wider instrumentation they would probably have a bigger impact on the prog scene (such as some keyboards and rhythm sections, but I’m just guessing). Anyway, an interesting and well made album that should satisfy anyone who enjoys good instrumental prog folk.
