Also, I tried hard to pay attention the first time I watched this episode but I broke almost as soon as the song started, I was balling as soon as Fluttershy started singing, that tone shift was like a stabb in the heart.

Tirek never actually had Discord's magic, he had his power. Think of it this way. When Tirek absorbs somepony's magic, he basically takes it as fuel to power his own magic. Note that at no point did the stuff he could do with his magic ever change in Twilight's Kingdom, no matter who he absorbed. The bell, on the other hand, bestows the actual magic. So their magic would have the chaotic properties of Discord's power

I didn't cry or get emotional during the ending. Not the emotional sort. But damn, I've been feeling it in the hours since I finished watching this. It's been such a short ride watching this with you, yet it still feels like a major part of my life is just gone now. But it was truly great while it lasted. I will keep a lookout for anything else you do and who knows, maybe we'll go through Gen 5 together as well and perhaps even beyond. The sun may have fallen on this, but there is always something more over the rainbow.

I've been watching the show since 2012 (I was 16 and am now 23) and I was a mess these whole three episodes but the instant Twilight started singing I just started sobbing. I feel like this show has been there forever. But I'm glad it got the send-off it deserves.

Great reaction! Also hats off to you for finishing the entire series in such a short amount of time. Regardless of my issues with it, MLP is my favorite American show of all time due to how much it inspires me to be a better person. The way they teach the lessons in all the awesome ways I will never forget. And don't worry about not being able to not cry while listening to The Magic of Friendship Grows. It took MANY listenings to it to finally stop crying during the final chorus lol That final curtain call always killed me X'D


Also, theres a very good chance that Luster Dawn is Starlight and Sunburst's daughter. One person working on the show denies this, but another confirms it so...it's whatever you wanna think about it. I wanna think she is :D She looks so much like them! She has Starlight's hair flip, her 2nd color streak in her mane, Starlight's eye style, Starlight's magic talent, Starlight's dad's eye color, Sunburst's fiery mane, wavy hair like Sunburst, and her cutie mark looks almost exactly like Sunbursts. Not to mention if you mix Sunburst's and Starlight's coat colors together, you get Luster's color exactly. Just a thought ;D


I know you'll be away for a while and won't be doing any reactions, but if you ever want to start a new show, Sofia the First is a Disney show in the same spirit as MLP. It has great songs, great story, character growth, and continuity! Like MLP, people underestimate it due to its target audience, but its a really great show.

I’ve crying for two hours now because of this, you’re not alone. I hate the new one, it shows how equestria changes (sorry for spoilers) this is, and will forever be the greatest version of my little pony.

In the time that G4 was running I graduated college, met my (now) wife, got married, and saw my twins born. When I say that the finale hit me hard, I mean it. Mrs. Crustacean and I sat down to watch it and ran out of tissues.

There were so many wonderful touches they incorporated. AJ and AB wearing Granny Smith and Golden Delicious's shawls are probably the ones that hurt the most, but every single one of them twisted that emotional knife. The last season, especially the finale, had a lot of bookending with season one (including the very literal book ending), and I absolutely love when series do stuff like that.

It was a wild ride that keeps going even though the show itself is finished. We still need DWK to finish up lol.

You and other reactors are far braver than I could ever be putting your genuine, raw emotions up for the world to see. I really don't understand people who dislike emotional reactions to fucking MLP of all things, it's like they missed the core message of the series.

The ending of mlp fim is literally my favorite ending of all time! I mean I cried through the whole episode, twilight and her friends truly made the impossible possible, they came from the most of humble of beginnings and they went out with a bang, this is why I will forever love mlp fim. 🥲

It has been a big adventure with tons of fun to watch you, the first reactor ever, to go from start to finish and react blindly. Even though you had the ability to consume the entirety of the show all at once, your reaction to the series finale was as raw and real as anyone who has been a fan for years. But dont worry! There is more content! EQG and fanworks alone will keep you busy for months to come and I cant wait!!

I love how far you've come with this show. I know some people would argue that you haven't "enough time with the show" for it to build on you yet, but I disagree. You feel a connection with the characters and whether you've watched it for a few months or a few years, you've still spent time with the Mane 6. You're still a fan.

Many others have talked about the reaction as a meta thing, so I'll say my piece about the episodes:

24 and 25, In Defense of Discord:
He clearly knew what was going on. But his plan obviously changed from when he first summoned them. His initial intention was to reform the four, that I'm certain of. However once Sombra went off on his own and the Princesses delayed their retirement (like they were always going to do), that was less certain.

Reformation became impossible, however, when they began plotting to betray Grogar using friendship, and retaining their evilness. With that, the Test strategem was devised. The cat was already out of the bag by that point, and Twilight and her Friends were always going to win, because Twilight has more friends, and better friends.

Ultimately, stone was the only correct punishment as they could not ever be reformed together. They already accepted the value of friendship and teamwork, and used it to achieve a collective goal. Genuinely. Reformation would. Not. Work.

I properly cried at the end of it. So many amazing Easter eggs like Derpy's muffin stand, Lyra and Bonbon's wedding, and the song was La Magnifique.

Hey, just wanted to say I really enjoyed this reaction series. More or less binged it over the past week or so. Had to stop to actually watch the movie and season 8 and 9, since I had previously dropped off the pony train (and was very glad to finally see them), and only actually saw the series finale for the first time yesterday.

To be honest, It is only 3 years since MLP G4 was cut, and I feels more nostalgic than the stuff I enjoyed or grew up with 12 years ago, such as Thomas and Friends and some kid cartoons that I stopped ages before I got into MLP.

This Final broke me, never cried more unless Telltales The Walking Dead, MLP got one of the hardest finales of all cartoons, can´t watch it without getting tears. If you see this, and if you ever do decide to react to another show, I think you'd find Steven Universe to be something special too. It's another show with positive messages about the power of love and the importance of self-care and whatnot, major character development, deep lore, epic battles, and amazing songs. I'll totally understand if you do stick with ponies, no complaints here. You should only commit to something new if it feels right for you, not because you feel pressure from us. I'm just psyched that you're back and catching up with DWK! I love the epilogue episode! This G4 finale conlculed the show in a very good way. Everything that transpired in this finale, from Twilight’s second coronation, seeing every creature in their older years to the new generations in Equestria, all of it was truly fantastic!

My myst favorite moment was the entire sequence of the last song. It really got me going with the feels, almost too much to handle. By the time we see the Mane 6 moving across the screen, with all the supporting characters in the background, I was moved to tears. And the way the episode ended with those instrumental note from the theme song and zooming out of the Mane Cast from the famous book that started it all, that was SO wonderful! I appreciate the writers for going down that path, what a way to close the FIM series!

I’m really glad that I got into this show, it has changed my life in the best ways possible, a true inspiration to me in more ways than one! I’m also glad you enjoyed watching this show as much as we did, PonyBro. And thanks for sharing your experience with us! We appreciate it!

I think Celestias anger towards Discord is at least a bit hypocritical considering she was the one who send Twilight to deal with King Sombra instead doing it herself. And if it wouldn't have been for Spike, that would have almost backfired as well resulting in the first bad timeline we saw in the Season 5 finale.
This is really the only reason people didn't get angry with her like they did (and some still are) with Discord:
Her plan didn't backfire.

At the start of this year, if anyone were to tell me that MLP would have a much more satisfying and badass ending than GOT, I would have said they were crazy. But look where we are now. I loved this ending so much.

During the flashback to Twilight's castle, she finds an old copy of Power Ponies. Did you note the cover of it and the one she moved into another box? The one moved between boxes was an issue of Power Ponies, with the Mane-iac... hopefully NOT one of the magic enhanced ones. The one Twilight found in her search depicts a pony holding up an old style cart. If you look closely and then look up Action Comics #1, you'll get it. I believe the pony on the cover was Ultramare, with an upright horseshoe shaped insignia on her chest as she holds up the cart.

On to a few things you might have missed while watching all three episodes in one sitting:
When Twilight was talking to Spike, she was paging through a copy of the Ponyville Gazette. Inside were articles about several things... like the following: The defeat of the Evil Trio. An article about Cranky Doodle, probably announcing the opening of his Wig and Toupee shop. Another article about Lyra and Bon Bon's wedding ( in the Season Nine, Episode 23, there was a background of Bon Bon offering Lyra a proposal ring, only to have Lyra whip out her own ring to propose to Bon Bon). And finally, our beloved Derpy Hooves has an article as well, probably announcing the opening of her Muffin Shop.

Later, during the song at the end of episode 26, we see the Mane Six prancing across the screen, revealing every background character in the show... including Tempest Shadow (aka: Fizzlepop Berrytwist) and Sunset Shimmer as a pony (behind Twilight's head), as well as many others (note that Dr. Whooves is right next to Roseluck, as per usual).

You noted that Applejack was wearing Granny Smiths's shawl... you failed to note that at the School of Friendship, that all three of the Crusaders are now grown up, and that Apple Bloom is wearing Goldie Delirious' shawl... I guess making Apple Bloom the new Apple Family Historian.

Another few things... Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich are a couple and have a young colt. AJ and Rainbow Dash are a couple, cemented by the final scene, showing RD hovering beside and above AJ, with a hoof upon her head. Discord and Fluttershy are a thing, and seem to live partially in Equestria and Discord's Chaos Realm. Then there is Yona and Sandbar, who are running Rarity's old shop on Ponyville. I think that Ocellus and Smolder are a couple as well... Since the Changeling would not 'judge' Smolder on her liking for 'girly' things.

In the throne room as Twilight is starting her story for Luster Dawn (possibly the foal of Starlight Glimmer and Sunburst. I say this because of her Cutie Mark and that her coat and hair colors are a mixture of SG and S's colors).

there is a lot more I could point out, like Twilight's Pinkie and the Brain reference... but I'll let you find 'em for yourself. :)

Good news! There will be a MLP season 10! But it is in comic form. it will be released next year. Then there will be generation 5

My Thoughts on “The Ending of the End”:

I freakin love this two-parter! Seriously, I was never engaged in a two-parter finale than I was with this particular one.

For starters, I was not prepared for the big reveal that Grogar was Discord in disguise. I was left gawking at my screen when that plot twist came along. I was both surprised and slightly disappointed, for I was expecting Grogar to have a prominent role here. But, that was water under the bridge, as it gave the Terrible Trio the chance to shine in the biggest way possible, and I appreciated this direction. Still, Discord totally messed up with his confidence boosting plan for the Mane 6, probably his biggest flaw in the show.

Aside from all that, I really enjoyed seeing our Equestrian heroes battling against the villains, especially Starlight and Chrysalis’ bout (I’ve been waiting to see them go at it and it was a great battle) and the final confrontation in the second part.

That final battle is truly amazing, an incredible experience that I’ll never forget. From where I stood, all I could think of with that entire sequence was Avengers (even though Jim Miller said that this two-parter was made before Endgame). Then there was the movie character cameos. I lost it when I saw Tempest in the crowd, my mind was blown and I literally screamed with excitement!

As for the stone containment fate of the Terrible Trio, I found it to be quite satisfying in my opinion. I originally thought they’d turn over a new leaf by accepting friendship, but I wasn’t bothered by this direction the writers took.

All in all, “The Ending of the End” is my #1 favorite two-parter finale of FIM. Plus, I dubbed S9 as my favorite season of the show.

The ending (episode 26) just seems perfect to me.
I'm glad the show ended this way and not with Magical Mystery Cure.
I'm ready to look back at this show with fondness while looking forward to Gen. 5.

I'm suprised so many people are, well, suprised about Discord coming up with a stupid plan which could (and did) easily backfire.

By the end of the show, there was only one villain who appeared in several episodes and was never defeated until the end. This is Lightning Dust who was forgotten after episode 20 of season 8.

The journey of the mane 6 and their friends truly reminds me of Sir Francis Drake’s motto “Sic Parvis Magna” (yes I also love uncharted) which translates to “Thus greatness comes from small things”

This season is in my top 3 with seasons 5 and 7 are the other 2, with the rest being really good too. This was my favorite finale(and 3rd best 2 part episode, the top 2 are season 5 premiere and season 9 premiere and all 3 are top 10 episodes). The fighting scenes were amazing, I liked the discord twist, and the endgame battle is really something else.
The epilogue is really emotional, I loved it sooo much. Although I ship appledash, I am not sure I can take it canonically. The song makes me cry anew everytime I watch it.

You should react to whatever you want, just enjoy it.

I was really happy they basically confirmed AppleDash as a cannon ship in the final episode as well as Lyra and Bon Bon. I bawled like a baby the first time I watched the final episode. It was an amazing ending to an incredible journey and I can't wait to see what they bring with gen 5 when it comes out.

I’m actually mad at Hasbro for ending this series. I was in tears watching the finale and the outro was so casual like a normal episode. I want G4 back, but they’ll never bring it back, G5 fucking sucks. It’s so shit and G4 needs to come back before they lose their viewers.

I am sure Discord was telling the truth about his intentions but I bet he also had another motive that he didn’t want to admit. Revenge on Tirek he must have been enjoying tossing them around in disguise and wanted to deceive and betray him. I think it was a creative twist but I much would have preferred if real Grogar had been fighting Discord in a stalemate while everything else went down. Then at the end when all the other villains were turned to stone Celestia realizes Cozy Glow is missing. While hiding behind a rock she says “Being small has its advantages. This was certainly a set back but there will always be a new generation of villains”. Then just when it looks like she is going to get away the CMC capture her and say “and there will always be a new generation of heroes to stop them”.
