it will run on 512 megs becuz i had a real machine which had a x64 bit cpu (athlon xp), and 512 mb of ram. it booted up just fine. but the windows 8 that i had was the x86 version.
In order to start windows 10 in a virtual box or actual computer, you would at least need at least 800 megabytes to get it started. However, it is extremely slow to use, and will not have the full arangement of colors in your windows experience. I may be no expert, but from my study's and endermechs studys, it had proven that you can only run it on at least 800 megabytes of RAM. I also would like to mention, if you did try logging in, it would either BSOD and say a driver needs to be replaced, or it will BSOD then start up. If you are lucky, you will be able to get in. Exactly like what happened at 256 megabytes of RAM here in this video.
