Left Dodie's song (If it's not with you) is about a drugs addiction. She starts with messy hair, cause she can't beat the addiction. In the end she gets her hair straight (implying she is getting better).
In the original this song references a friend many times who is also addicted to drugs.

When it rains is about losing someone to suicide and at the end of the loop right Dodie pulls hair her down. I believe cause she's just so broken of the loss of her friend.
So even though Dodie became better, her friend did not

hearing paramore so soft like this hits different.

when i was 19 i backpacked across New Zealand so i could find a truly far away and alone place. it took 28 hours of travel time. i hitched rides and took buses and hiked across the lanscape down to the very bottom of the country. after 2 months i found myself on a treck, i was alone, 12 hours away from civilization. starring over a lake inbetween some mountains. this song reminds me of being there and having the feeling of needing to go all the way back home....very touching.

This feels like a song that plays in the background as the protagonist goes through a montage while writing a letter to the love interest in a LGBT+ Coming-of-age movie.

But for real, I really needed to hear this right now. I just got betrayed by some people who I thought were friends (and it wouldn't be the first time). They basically kicked me out of the group without explanation, and when they finally gave me one, the reasoning behind it was very unfair to me. It really hurts and I feel like everything that happened is my fault, even though I know it technically isn't.
This song somehow explains exactly what I feel. It seems to calm the storm raging in my heart. It makes me feel like everything's gonna be okay and that I'll be able to move on to a fresh start.

Dodie knows how to play the cute card for sure. I know that many here will disagree, but my first reaction to the vid was a very mixed feeling. Felt sort of manipulated, as she's pushing the buttons (that always work) so hard here: deliberatly, I'm quite sure, looking somehow small, and so vulnerable and a little miserable, and very very cute.
