This episode portrays how actual fanbases work so accurately. Both this show's fanbase, and in general. I just don't typically imagine producers understanding such things.
18:34 Quibble: "These two have unicorns fighting bears." Kind of sounds like what happened in Boast Busters, with Trixie and Twilight taking their shots at that ursa minor.
My favorite daring do episode in the show, it had everything daring do needs: a ridiculous adventure, some artifacts and bondage. The outtro is the best, and the moral is very solid.
The message was indeed one that more people in the fandom could take to heart. Again, there's been some recent developments that you'll learn about in due course, that have caused a bit of that kind of tension again. Everybody just needs to chill and remember the lessons of the show, I think, sometimes. Anyway, great reaction, as usual PonyBro, and I can't wait to see more!
21:58 Quibble: "Friends?" Rainbow Dash: "Definitely friends!" PonyBro: "Yeah, you can enjoy something, in a lot of different parts of it." Those two could certainly enjoy a lot of different parts of each other. ;)
I remember when I was introduced to Quibble Pants for the first time, I didn’t like him at first. But after a couple of rewatches, I started to warm up to his character. He’s an enjoyable MLP guest star and I like Patton Oswalt’s performance he gave him. As for this Daring Do episode, it’s my second favorite of the bunch. Even though Ahuizotl isn’t involved in the plot, Caballeron and his henchponies carried the story along just fine and there was plenty of action scenes, with some fun moments as well.
Seeing that Rainbow attended a convention got me thinking back of my recent visit to a convention. It has been a while since I’ve been to one and it was quite the experience too.
Narrator007 Yup. Over the years, I’ve made friends among fellow volunteers and met celebs on occasion like accommodating them on whatever it is they need before they go onstage to speak. Last one was Tara Strong.
Yep, good old Patton Oswalt, aka Remy the Rat from "Ratatouille" among others, did a great job channeling his geekiness toward making Quibble Pants a fun (if slightly annoying character). Oswalt watched the show with his daughter, and he is known as a celebrity fan. As annoying as he can be, I find Quibble to be a lot of fun. I'm a fanfiction writer myself (I actually spoke on a panel at Bronycon 2019, though it was a small one), so the self-deprecating humor about fandom arguments is right up my alley.
00:45 Walking on a falling bridge seems to be less daring when you have wings. It's weird though that she seems to forget about having them so often :q 03:07 Patton Oswalt :) Another big fan of this show ;) 03:55 :D 04:06 This pony is so dying inside :J 05:38 Well, there are analysts, and there are ANALysts :q The former comment on references, symbolism, meanings, and look for interesting theories, dig deeper than the surface level to enjoy the episodes even more. The latter are just being an ass and nitpicking episodes to ruin the fun for others because they didn't enjoy it. 05:55 Hold that remark for the correct episode ;) 06:02 That neckbeard though ;J 08:50 Yup, the Ranma one Fluttershy made during Nightmare Night ;) 09:11 That was Derpy, of course :D 12:16 And none of those idiots staid there to guard them :q 13:52 How do you like DAT ass? :J 15:25 Again, wait for the correct episode ;> 19:34 This is a reënactment of the boat chase scene from "Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade" movie ;)
18:42 To be fair, the apparent simple answer could have been a trap to catch anyone who saw it as the obvious answer, while the real door could've been indicated by a much more subtle difference. They were pretty lucky it was actually the correct door.
Also, I distinctly remember this episode because it has aired during Galacon which I was attending and me and few friends watched it at the hotel room. Watching an episode about con while attending con was all sorts of bonkers. :D
19:36 - I keep reminding myself that you're pretty young, but I was still hoping you'd get that reference to "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade." Ah, well. :P
What I find really funny is how Quibble Pants' complaint was that Daring Do changed genres...and that's not a quibble. That's a genuine complaint that would definitely affect somepony's enjoyment of the series, and not without cause.
If you go into something expecting one genre and you get another (and you care enough) you probably won't enjoy it.
@@skittybug6937 his "Remy" voice is normal voice, when he voice Max in "The Secret Life Of Pets 2" (replace Louis C.K.) he use his "Remy" voice and he doesn't try to sound like Louis C.K.
I consider this episode to be "fandom critique" done right, especially since it treads the line between roasting and celebrating bronies pretty well. I think the message of "it's okay to have different opinions on the same thing" is far more positive than the one we get in a later episode...
