MLP G5 is in for a lot of trouble. Because of G4, people will go into it with some kind of expectations it will never match. G4 exploded not because it was good, it was because it surpassed the extremely low expectations set upon it. It came out at the absolute perfect time where internet culture and viral meme culture was getting to be a thing. People thought it would suck royally and it didn’t. G5 now has expectations to live up to. That is what is going to ruin it at the end of the day.
To me Friendship Is Magic was a one time deal. Lightning in a bottle. There will never again be a Brony phenomena or anything like G4 ever again. Which is why I most likely won’t even bother with Pony from here on.
Instead, Filly Funtasia is my new hype. No seriously, it’s good.
