I was at the show last night with the heckler that annoyed Dodie and I will add most people in the audience were also pissed off. Especially me as I HATE hecklers. I was very close to the front and could see Dodie’s shock very clearly she played it off well luckily. I’m very sorry for all the heckling at the show. I hope it gets better.

I must say the excessive screaming from people at your shows, while coming from a place of love and admiration, did put a downer on the experience for me when I watched you last year because I came to hear you perform and all I could hear was the girls next to me screaming over everything you said and sung. As a singer myself I can only imagine what that amount of crowd noise can do to your concentration so I don’t do it myself unless at acceptable times for applause or when it is well timed. I wish other people would do the same, mostly out of respect for you as a musician :)

As someone who has worked with touring bands a lot over the years- remember to give yourself some 'me' time every day- even if its just 10 minutes for a sandwich and coffee sat in the balcony of the venue. Living under each others feet for weeks, even with the best people and the best of intentions, can get you down. Enjoying watching these little vlogs! Tour memories = best memories.

On her story dodie talked about a girl who shouted “can you take a selfie with my phone” and everyone just kind of awkwardly laughed because we didn’t know what to do. And the other girl trying to talk to orla was trying to talk to everyone on stage and just trying to get attention, and no one was having it. of course the night was saved by your angelic voice and it was ultimately an amazing night. This is not at all excusing the hecklers but remember dodie that when you're up there, you are in control of that stage (in a good way). Public speaking and controlling a crowd like that is always difficult, very difficult, but the audience is looking to you and a quick shhh or finger to your lips may help a lot.

Again, not excusing those people but hopefully a bit of practical advice for when they're doing it anyway from someone who struggled getting used to being in that position.

Going off on what she said about the audience shouting: I'm someone that is used to physically rough crowds, that are also loud, and even shows where I have been injured in. Yet, I understand and realize that depending on the artist and their genre of music/how they play live, that it is a totally normal place for that behavior. But when I see videos of shows for Dodie's performance, I want to pay attention to her and the band play, not the shouting coming from the crowd that offset the performing. Now I know that it is with all good intent and passionate fans, and I'm sure they're wonderful people. However I couldn't justify seeing a show where I can't hear the artist. Know that I say this with no ill will:)

I went to dan and phil's interactive introverts tour, i was very close to the front and this girl behind me kept shouting out random things, some of which were almost rude in order to get attention from dnp and it didn't work. I imagine it's the same for you, people shouting so you'll either look at them or acknowledge what they shouted at you. I agree, I feel it comes from a good place however it can be very distracting for the performer and just very annoying when they keep at it. I'm sorry thats happened enough that you've felt the need to acknowledge it. Hopefully people will see this and respect the fact you don't like it.
