We have an intel i5 4gb ram and a gt710 as school pc and as laptop we have a MacBook knockoff named terra with an i5 8gb ram and 250 gb m.2 that is as fast as an old hdd and that shit costs around 700€. The schoolserver1 is rocking an i5 with 8gb ram and windows server 2012 r2 installed on it it is serving as the domain controler. The schoolserver2 is running an i3 with 4gb of ram and windows server 2008 installed on it. Very shitty IT and it always fails and then you can't log on on your laptop

Video suggestion: Make a VM that shares the C: drive (or even more things) with the host. I know that it might be pretty difficult, because most VM software have protection for this, but I don’t think it’s impossible.
1:37 A lot of computers support XP and 10 at the same time. From the 4 computers I have at home, 3 support both. They are a bit old, but I think they would support booting a windows 10 VM.
My main PC also does it has Xeon E3 1230V2 on an H61 MB. It also has a GTX 750ti which I believe has drivers for Windows XP. My other older C2D laptop also supports XP and 10 and I currently have Windows 10 running on it.
My main PC supports all versions starting with XP, from the motherboard to the cpu, I don't think my GPU is supported thought because the GPU is a lot newer than my motherboard and while it's still compatible, the GPU Drivers are gonna be a problem.
15$ is a big meal. We got 4 family members, they all dislike Win10, and under the current financial issues that we have, it really isn't that good to just go out now to buy a key for an outdated OS.

i still remember i used to run windows 7 in a VM running on Windows XP on the family computer because my dad wouldn't let me insta windows 7 directly onto the PC.
I think he meant Sandy Bridge, however I think Haswell was the last generation CPU to support Windows XP. I think ideally for a computer thats able to run both Windows XP and Windows 10 natively, you would want a PC from between 2007 to about 2012. Though not one inside the other, I do have a Dell Precision m6400 laptop from around early 2009 that I was able to set up as a dual boot of Windows 10 and Windows Vista.
Hey @Enderman, the Core i3-2350M which you said it was a Haswell-based CPU is not true, it is actually a Sandy Bridge-based CPU. Sandy Bridge architecture has native support for Windows XP while Haswell architecture does not.

it is all fun and games when you run a xp on a machine that by itself can support windows 10 try something without sse3 instruction set as a host and you hit stairs hard unless emulating faster cpu on a slower one is an option

I once dualbooted Windows 10 and XP on a N270 netbook. Both OS’s worked though Windows 10 performance was terrible at best so I downgraded Windows 10 to Windows 7 (long live Win 7)
@@johncate9541 Yeah, did that myself once in order to use some software that's only supported on Windows. (Wouldn't work trough Wine since it uses a ton of Windows kernel stuff) I wouldn't say it 'requires' much RAM tho, most Windows 10 VMs could be set up with 4 GBs of RAM and they'd work fine

I am plenty surprised by the performance because on one of my old backup laptops which has a 5th gen i7 forgot the number and also has a r5 m330 paired with it and 16gb ram any VM's graphics performance would be like hell draging windows will make it drag in a million pieces and closing and opening animations literally sometimes crash the VM. I don't know what to do.

And eah . no you do not run a dedicated 64 bit VM . It is a 64 bit program and wont run in a 32 bit OS . But you do not need that . 32 bit VM can easy emulate 64 bit .
Edit - dedicated 64 bit hardware and in bios enable Hardware virtualization . You can use WmWare and VirtualBox and Qemu . They are all capable of doing the 64 bit emulating of a processor in a 32 bit Os . STILL YOU NEED 64 Bit capable hardware AND being able to do hardware virtualization . Last year when I tried on a 64 Bit system with 32 bit Os ( win xP ) I couldn't , Because my CPU Wasn't capable of doing hardware VM . Lucky me that when my old motherboard died here 6 month ago I got a replacement and the seller also send me the best CPU in that series . Both CPU and motherboard is with hardware VM . GTX980 can be used in windows Xp Even Titan can. Yes I know I know Drivers to XP stopped with GTX 960 But in fact they was made / and is compatible for 980 and 1080 . All you have to do is edit the ini files in the last drivers for the GTX 960 and you have fully working 980 . ( Just as XP can easy use more tan 4 Gb of memory too ) Well The server and datacenter versions at that time was Just Xp but with all files present to support multi CPU and memory up to 256 Gb .
Im using 8 GB of memory in XP and soon upgrade to 16 as this is the max of my motherboard ( I have hear rumors that by manipulate bios it can do 32 Gb ) I use paired dual channel memory there is a little hard to find . ( for that generation )
I use it as A music studio and my software require XP . I can NOT run it in a WM or use windows in XP mode ect ect . By emulating you create Latency and latency get too high and some software wont even run too . So I use Original XP on hardware that allow me the smallest amont of latency as possible . For example , today we have USB 3 but I still use firewire 800 for my sound cards . Simply because the Firewire talk directly to the CPU and thus have much less latency than any USB version can provide . Yes it is only 800 megabyte /s compare to USB 3 there is in GB range ... But I dont care . Latency is most important to me . When I use my Electric guitar with software synths / effects there is less latency that a 10 meter guitar cable on a stage . You simply can not feel it when you play .
Thats why Im still use XP today . I simply need it . ( so many people they keep bashing me for that and keep say it is outdated and newer is bettter and all this blah blah ... well for them and their Games BUT NOT for me ) Remind there is still people who use original Amiga and such in their studios and they do not want change too .
So to get your XP to support more memory then you need to take those fles from the datacenter version and add / overwrite them in your Xp - halacpi,dll halapic,dll halmacpi,dll halmps,dll halaacpi,dll hidparse,sys usb8023,sys usb8023x,sys usbccgp,sys usbd,sys usbehci,sys usbhub,sys usbintel,sys usbohci,sys usbport,sys usbscan,sys usbstor,sys usbuhci,sys usbvideo,sys All those because the Usb will cause trouble if not changed . then you need - format,com ( no changes to that file just replace it ) Then you need recompiled version of those - ntkrnlpa,exe and ntkrpamp,exe from the datacenter version . Yes this is working and I have 8 GB memory on my XP working just fine . What it does is that it allow block of 2 GB section to be allocated each to win programs . But if your program use more than 2 GB it will simly just continue in next allocation . That way a program can use many GB of memory . Databases on server versions tyically take up many GB and loading such one require lots of Ram too so how did they doi It ? Yes this way . Remember with XP you paid a licence to use up to 4 GB memory and ONE CPU . But XP was capable of much more . It was what microsoft released to private people . As a corporation / company you could buy the bigger versions ( server / datacenter ) Win XP home - 4 GB and ONE CPU Win XP Pro - 4 GB and two CPU . Win Xp Server - 4 GB and two CPU . win server standard - 4 GB and two CPU . Win server enterprice - 64 GB and 8 CPU . win server datacenter - 128 to 256 GB and up to 128 CPU . Win cluster server - all from 256 plus GB memory and all from 256 CPU and up . ( bear in mind that compuscale computer clusters could have thousands and thousands of CPU and enormous amount of memory ) And ... yes they are technically all based on the same system as XP ...... Just all the , hm interesting stuff is removed and of course XP being filled with user stuff to ' normal ' home users need or business need no matter whaa they claim . You pay for access to use more memory and more CPUs .
I have used VirtualBox before (now I use VMware thank god) and nesting vm's in VirtualBox is very bad. Idk maybe because my computer wasn't all that good at the time but yeah it worked not so well.

4 likesI think he meant Sandy Bridge, however I think Haswell was the last generation CPU to support Windows XP. I think ideally for a computer thats able to run both Windows XP and Windows 10 natively, you would want a PC from between 2007 to about 2012. Though not one inside the other, I do have a Dell Precision m6400 laptop from around early 2009 that I was able to set up as a dual boot of Windows 10 and Windows Vista.

And eah . no you do not run a dedicated 64 bit VM .
It is a 64 bit program and wont run in a 32 bit OS .

Yes I know I know Drivers to XP stopped with GTX 960 But in fact they was made / and is compatible for 980 and 1080 .
All you have to do is edit the ini files in the
last drivers for the GTX 960 and you have fully working 980 .
( Just as XP can easy use more tan 4 Gb of memory too )
Well The server and datacenter versions at that time was Just Xp but with all files present to support multi CPU and memory up to 256 Gb .
Im using 8 GB of memory in XP and soon upgrade to 16 as this is the max of my
motherboard ( I have hear rumors that by manipulate bios it can do 32 Gb )
I use paired dual channel memory there is a little hard to find .
( for that generation )
I use it as A music studio and my software require XP .
I can NOT run it in a WM or use windows in XP mode ect ect .
By emulating you create Latency and latency get too high and some
software wont even run too .
So I use Original XP on hardware that allow me the smallest amont of latency
as possible .
For example , today we have USB 3 but I still use firewire 800 for my sound cards .
Simply because the Firewire talk directly to the CPU and thus have much less latency
than any USB version can provide .
Yes it is only 800 megabyte /s compare to USB 3 there is in GB range ...
But I dont care . Latency is most important to me .
When I use my Electric guitar with software synths / effects there is less latency
that a 10 meter guitar cable on a stage .
You simply can not feel it when you play .
Thats why Im still use XP today . I simply need it .

Yes this is working and I have 8 GB memory on my XP working just fine .
What it does is that it allow block of 2 GB section to be allocated each to win programs .
But if your program use more than 2 GB it will simly just continue in next allocation .
That way a program can use many GB of memory .
Databases on server versions tyically take up many GB and loading such one
require lots of Ram too so how did they doi It ?

Remember with XP you paid a licence to use up to 4 GB memory and ONE CPU .
But XP was capable of much more .
It was what microsoft released to private people .
As a corporation / company you could buy the bigger versions ( server / datacenter )
Win XP home - 4 GB and ONE CPU
Win XP Pro - 4 GB and two CPU .
Win Xp Server - 4 GB and two CPU .
win server standard - 4 GB and two CPU .
Win server enterprice - 64 GB and 8 CPU .
win server datacenter - 128 to 256 GB and up to 128 CPU .
Win cluster server - all from 256 plus GB memory and all from 256 CPU and up .
( bear in mind that compuscale computer clusters could have thousands and thousands of CPU and enormous amount of memory )
And ... yes they are technically all based on the same system as XP ......
Just all the , hm interesting stuff is removed and of course XP being filled with user
stuff to ' normal ' home users need or business need no matter whaa they claim .
You pay for access to use more memory and more CPUs .

4. press in Extracti In, select "C:/ProgramFiles/Steam" and Accept
5. Open the steam and log in normaly
6. install CS:GO
7. Press play, after that will apear an error who say that 1 libray is missing (dbghelp.dll)
8. download the library and put it in "C:/Windows/System32" ( https://es.dll-files.com/download/bce2721ce55ed38d3ec41014c46a1f69/dbghelp.dll.html?c=SDNJSVBuUDh4Qm80VkZrYWhUWTJyZz09 )
9. Start CS:GO and it will work
