It's so weird how Derpy gets the most epic theme in the entire game

I've got to admit, I never expected to get a song like this. Even if I didn't, it still kinda fits her in some way. Great song! My head bobs to the beat each time I hear it.

This makes me feel like I'm playing an old SNES side-scroller with Derpy as the action heroine, blasting fools Mega Man-style. Good work.

I think it's appropriate. It has a mystery beyond mystery kind of element that I find fits a character that makes their fans itch to know them better. And the repetition reminds me of her struggling effort that is strongly apparent by the fanbase.

I am not a brony but this is one of the best fighting themes i ever heard.

The others might disagree, but I think that it actually fits Derpy pretty well. The two bass lines almost seem to 'stumble' over one another at some points, which totally fits the 'clumsy' part of her personality. And even if it doesn't fit perfectly, it's still a great song.

I always imagined Derpy's theme being the "Inside Dexter" theme from Ape Escape for some reason. This fits just as well, if not better, though.

Good music, suitable for a fighting game, although I'd say a true Derpy theme would need some derps in the musical style, and listening to it should induce vertigo.

Yeah, I was like 4 or something when it first came out. Three years isn't that big a difference now but it definitely was back then! I actually had never even heard of it until some of my older friends told me about it a few years ago, at which point I went out and immediately bought all 3 (not counting 2003) on steam. As far as the last bit, I'm occasionally, but not usually morbid but like I said I'm very cynical. I would have gone into more detail but I hit the comment length cap (again).

Would be awesome for Derpy Stage in Fighting is Magic, unfortunately the chances of them developing Derpy as a playable character are a long way off in the future.

The name of the track, Derpinator, says a lot to explain the sound of it. It's like Derpy is trying REALLY hard to be a serious fighter. Perhaps a little too hard. It is a little frenzied, and trying to be faster than it "should" be, which describes Derpy fairly well (lord knows she DOES try really hard). Couple all this with her undoubtedly silly voice clips, and this may work for her theme. It'll work better if the other ponies have a similar contrast between personalities and fight music.

I think this is just Derpy's theme when she really gets intense and needs to kick some serious flank. Regardless, this is still a great piece. Keep up the good work!

I was too young to play it as a kid, as I am just headed off to college, but it has become one of my favorite series as well (and very fun to mod!). Best of all its so old I can install Steam and play it on any computer I want!

The only bit that sounds appropriate for Derpy for me is 2:07 because it's a more unpredictable, 'clumsy' rhythm than the rest of the song, which, as he said, sounds more focused than would be appropriate for Derpy. Despite the lack of 'derpiness', the song still is really good though!

Knowing her, she'd think she's aiming at us but accidentally aim at the enemy team, and then knock the targeting system a little off and aim at everything. Nobody would know what went wrong.

So i'm guessing this is how the fight would go: She starts of the fight by firing muffins at you. If you dodge them sucsesfully, you can use them to heal yourself. You can also hit them muffins back, but they won't do anything. She then starts flying and starts to shoot you with lighting bolts. But 70% of the time she will get herself, and she will be stunned.

I think Derpy's fighting style would be kinda like Dampierre's from the Soul Calibur series. ^^

I'd imagine Derpy would be the Dan Hibiki of Fighting is Magic. I'd invision her having similar moveset to Rainbow Dash, except her attack would more...well...Derpy.

I think the best way is to have all her "attacks" look like accidents, ie she clutzes her way to victory and her win poses she nearly oblivious or suprised/concerned by the knocked out pony next to her.

I just think this would sound so awesome crossed with the Comic Bakery theme.

I really love this remix, though it sounds more like Dk2 Diddy's Quest from the Disco Train level, but still love the mix.

Unless I see "Derpy Hooves" printed on a piece of officially licensed MLP merch then I'm gonna assume it's fair game. They did edit it out of the episode (with the exception of the DVD release). And I'm not selling it here on Youtube, it's on bandcamp where there is no image or name that could be crossing lines. All the brony musicians that sell do this anyway. We love the show and it gives us an audience.

How about the "Bran Muffin Shotgun"? Ditzy trips, making her spin into an accidental flurry of attacks. Then she flaps her wings to recover herself, taking the higher and higher, then dropping the opponent to the ground. She then lands next to him/her and eats a bran muffin, then sneezes, spraying the opponent with a final blow.

This isn't what I had in mind for Derpy, but it certainly isn't bad.

Why does the term 'The Derpinator' make me think of her breaking through a brick wall and saying "Come with me if you want to live." in perfect Schwarzenegger voice.

Ditzy doo was the Original name for derpy, just as a background character. After the animation error that caused her askew eyes, the fans labelled her with the name derpy hooves. The name derpy was made official as a shout out to the fanbase, but due to the 'offensive' nature of derpy they had the shout out removed. Her name is still thought of as derpy hooves to the fans, but officially her name is ditzy doo, in order to stop people from taking offense where IMO no offense is due.

Lauren did not intend the grey pegasus we all know and love to be named Ditzy. Ditzy was going to be a character who would act similar to Derpy, but not Derpy. Ditzy wasn't used though, because of the existence of Derpy.

Actually, a thought just occurred to me, imagine if they put Derpy into the upcoming Equestria girls episodes. It would be weird seeing her as a derpy human.

I like this track, but I don't think it quite fits as a theme for Derpy, and I will explain why. Derpy is kind of a clumsy character, and this music isn't really clumsy. Being electronic music, this track has very repetitive beats and rhythms. This gives it a very driving, focused sound. It sounds to me more like the theme that would accompany a character that is very serious, focused, and clear-headed. I think if the rhythm were more erratic and whimsical, then it would be more "Derpy".

Derpy and Ditsy are seperate characters. It's the same principle on favorite characters in your case.

Mmm, Derpy Hooves -does- sound a bit...Internet-ish for a show like My Little Pony which is (supposed to be) like an 18th century English town-type of place, but Derpy seems to have it's own special kind of feeling to it. Though I do dislike how many fan named ponies have "Hooves" or "Hoof" as their last name, like Dr. Whooves. :v I like both, I suppose. I -do- like what Turnabout Storm did with Derpy. I have a new theory on the 'derpy is getting removed' thing. what if they just said they were so people calm down, and they keep putting her in the background as usual, as since they said they removed her, people who protested it wouldn't be looking.

More then that, she has, in many people's eyes, 'become' the community representative on the show....the emblem - what happens to her, happens to the community...which is perhaps a bit extreme and why so many people (in many ways, correctly) freaked out over her censorship. I can see why she's so popular though - she's everybody's baby :P

It's funky, but it still doesn't fit "Derpy" per se. Maybe General Derpy, or Derpy and Dr. Whooves, but not Derpy as we know her. Pretty much anything with a clear beat that you can dance to doesn't fit Derpy in the least. Unless you do something to completely throw off the rhythm constantly throughout the song, it's not going to sound "Derpy." For one thing, if you want to use vibrato, you'd have to use a mix of high amplitude and quick changes of tempo.
