Never seen Soul Eater, might check it out someday, but I don't need to know the subject matter to know this sounds pretty darn hyyype XP But also pretty darn emotion fueled~ I know someone else already mentioned it in the comments, but I also love how the song goes back and forth between the darker and lighter sides~ Gives the song a lot of character, and implies a lot more about the character you're writing about too >u< Sounds awesome dude :D
Thanks! Yeah I wanted to switch from a tight metal sound into something more spacey for the verses. It would add to the flashback vibe for the lyrics. I mixed the two for the choruses at the end, still not sure how I wanna lyricize those though. You should check out Soul Eater though, it's entertaining and fun.

Lyric writing is hard, I understand the pain XD But I could also totally see lyrics fitting to this song well too c: So if you find a vocalist and finish those lyric I'm sure it'll sound really great! I know I'd like to hear it :3

@Sindy Nope, but it sounds nice. It's been a while since I've heard a Diru song. I was actually channeling "Obscure" when I wrote the first version of this back in 2012.
@Sindy I actually don't know how to work all that out. I have this distributor who can get me on all the big places like Spotify and iTunes, but I can't ever get the artwork I use approved by them. It's never big enough, and stretching it out always makes them reject it on account of blurriness. In short, I'd need to commission an artist to make it a specific size, but I can't afford to pay right now. Still paying off my guitar and all this other music software.
I do! I just don't really have lyrics or a vocalist who can clean/ scream. I also want the vocalist to be female, since this song is supposed to be sung from the perspective of a teenage boy, and that just limits the pool of candidates even more. But really, the hardest part of songwriting for me, is writing the song lol. I can't do lyrics to save my life.

There's not a whole lot of "constructive" advice in your criticism man, so I feel like I must defend myself. There is no real synth line in this song to begin with, and it's lacking melody because it's missing the vocals which carry the melody. Also, where do you get off calling my music mediocre? I make every song to the best of my ability.
