I think that the ponies as you say might start a new tradition with Sunny, since Hearths Warming is all about gifting, I think they might start sending each other โLetโs be friendsโ gifts to other tribes through paper lanterns, just like Sunny did when Izzy found it and wanted to befriend other tribes herself

Probably. Because in the first generation unicorns, earth ponies and Pegasus hated each other which caused the winter ghost to come. And suddenly in the new generation the magic just disappeared, so maybe because since they disappeared the winter ghost donโt exist anymore. And since sunny knows about the main six, maybe her dad knows about hearts warming eve and heโll tell her about it then she will tell everyone else about it.
I wouldnโt be surprised if they still celebrate, it would make a lot of sense. My family celebrates Hanukkah and Christmas because itโs how I was raised. My dad was Jewish and my mom is Catholic. So they merged the two and celebrated both. We still celebrate both but Christmas is more about being together, not what the Christians/Catholicโs stole from the pegans. We celebrate it with Santa and dinner with family. Another generation is learning about Santa and knowing where he is.
If you're going to celebrate a winter holiday, make it about the one true God who sent Jesus because of His love for us. Don't lie to children about the pagan god Santa Claus.

I really love the idea of starswirl becoming a santa figure cause itโs not far off from the real history of santa clause, going from saint nicolas (a real historical figure becoming mythologized) to sinterklaas (said mythologized figure becoming central in a winter holiday) to santa clause (a satirical interpretation of sinterklaas made by americans, which eventually spawns its own mythology loosely based around existing winter traditions and other winter figures)

Iโve always had this question when watching the movie for the first time and I actually want to know what people think about it but, if pony genetics work that two earth ponies can give birth to a unicorn and a Pegasi how would it work when they separated and a unicorn gave birth to an earth pony or Pegasi, or any other mix.
@Sawtooth Waves what if the unfortunate fillies that were born as a pony from another tribe (for example, unicorns giving birth to pegasi ; earth ponies giving birth to unicorns etc.) were cast aside or kicked out because they were different. Just imagine, being hated by everyone just because you are different. How harsh it mustโve been! Itโs sad, but itโs a possibility.๐ฅ๐
@Rosella Thing is, the way ponies can have offspring of different types is by having relatives of that type and carrying those genes. It could've been a problem at the start of the separation, but likely didn't continue for long.
@Dragon_Fire_2468 Uh, I mean, no, but sort of yeah. Like, the cake twins are an unicorn and a pegasus because the cakes themselves have unicorn and pegasus relatives, and thus carry those genes. After a few generations, those genes would faze out and thus you wouldn't have ponies randomly having kids of different tribes. Like, if I have a grandma with blonde hair, then sure, my kid could have blonde hair, but if I only have a 12-times-great grandma with blonde hair, then that's just not going to happen.
@Chara Violet speaking of genetic, why when a unicorn and a Pegasus has kids, the foal would only get the mane and coat color fusion, but not horn and wings? What stop this from being happening?
@ืกืืื ืงืืืคืื Genetics are pretty complicated, but generally it's probably that hair/coat colors come from a wide range of different genes working together, causing the possibility for mixed colors rather than just either-or, but when it comes to the tribes it's more of a single set of genes determining the foal's type. So you don't really get the situation of being two tribes at once.

If she was a great aunt second cousin twice removed.... than she wouldn't be in the direct genealogy. Unless, it is an indication for a further common ancestor farther back who was a pegasus.
AS for the question on genetics and it expressing it's self. Well that could play out just like genetics in animals can. Whether a cow has horns or not depends on the genetic expression. If a cow and bull both have no horns but have the gene for it their calf will likely end up with horns. Then you also have dominant and recessive traits. Genetics can get really complicated.
I believe the tribes actually wared with one another and the founding of equestria was much more bloody as the three tribes would have fought a number of wars that probably erased the history of the wars to forget and hearth warming holiday was made more pony family friends to avoid the grim fact wars were fought.
I just want to say your videos are very interesting and well made. Theyโre good to watch while I crochet or do homework and revision. I tend to not be able to focus on one thing so itโs very nice to just watch your videos while also get things done so thank you for all the work you put into these!

Hey Sawtooth, I wanted to just put this out there (I doubt you'll see, but I don't mind), but I think you have contradicting theories when it comes to time travel within the G4-verse. The thing I'm most stuck on is how there possibly be multiple timelines because of Starlight's actions, even though Bootstrap theory somewhat disproves multiverse theory (unless it was a completely different type of time spell altogether). Here's my reasoning: when it comes to bootstrap theory (especially Twilight's in this case) you move backwards to a point in time where you still exist and Twilight ends up going forward in time back to her (somewhat) original point within that line. Because of this, we're led to believe that she couldn't have traveled to another universe because she is still likely in her own when she goes back, and still in her own when returns to the present. While Starlight messing with the timeline isn't exactly bootstrap, we should definitely consider her magic to be using the same rules as Twilight's shenanigans. To further my point, when Twilight ends up in the timeline where Chrysalis is taking over Equstria, Zecora points out that they, the ponies, ended up in this timeline by mistake, because this timeline is incorrect. While she could have easily meant Twilight was in the wrong universe, she specifically states "it is we who should not be." That's some odd choice of words if you're trying to tell a pony that they aren't from your universe, but if you're able to recognize that the timeline has been disrupted, then it'd make a lot more sense. Just my two cents though, if you read this, happy holidays to you, and I enjoy the content!
I largely agree. Many holidays have gone through a number of shifts and iterations over the years. One could even see that each still has their own version of Hearth's Warming and cautionary tales of how the others broke from the truth.

They brought back the โpillars teamโ team from a thousand years ago in G4. But could they do the same with G5 & how? An awakening from a magical hibernation? A continuation of an unfinished story/event after or before G4?

I have a idea now that the tribes have come together they might go on a hot air balloon and throw envelopes each envelope has a name on it kind of like secret Santa and at twelve they celebrate a new moon and give gifts anyway merry Christmas and sawtooth your video was amazing as usual
Im guessing that there will be an episode where sunny and her friends try to bring back the original hearths warming eve as Sunny knows it, as it was told to her by her dad.
So then they go to every tribe, trying to convince them to celebrate the old holiday, but also learning about how unicorns, pegasi, and earth ponies celebrate the holiday in the modern era.
And by the end of it Sunny fails, but something happens and she realizes that the entire time she was ignoring what hearths warming eve was truly about, and that it was about bringing ponies together.
So then the episode will probaly end on all three tribes traditions somehow combining into one big tradition, making a new hearths warming eve that represents the new generation.
since Argyle (I that's how you spell his name) knows about the mane 6, I think he would've know about every they've celebrated in the past, he probably told Sunny about Hearts Warming and just celebrated it at home. (knowing Sunny she and Argyle probably put up little decorations around Maretime Bay)
I think it would be cool if the series coming out in spring had an episode where we get to see a different version of hearts warming in each tribe and everyone arguing which one is best

How do they hold off the Windigos, though? Even in A Hearth's Warming Tail, Windigos still show up. It doesn't specifically mention tribal unity, but that was the original purpose of Hearth's Warming, right? And fighting between the tribes is what specifically brought them back in the MLP finale, so it's not just from the origin story. Fighting in general doesn't do it. The other species were at each others' throats when the Student Six went missing, but the Windigos didn't show up. Ponies have fought with yaks, changelings, etc. but it only seems to be pony infighting that's the problem.
@Mag -narwhal I did watch that one, but it still leaves one gap: while the tribes were separating, that would have been when the Windigos were most powerful. How did they escape the endless winter without freezing to death? We've seen how powerful it is in A Hearth's Warming Tail. Everything was consumed. There effectively was no future.
Also, I'm now imagining a holiday special where members of the three tribes get heated about which holiday is "correct," thus threatening the stability of the world in some way. Maybe their arguing starts to resurrect the Windigo, or causes the crystals to start shifting apart. They probably wouldn't go for the more real-world political thriller angle, so it would most like need some kind of magical threat. I think it'd be a fun, tense bit of writing, with plenty of jokes, though I'm not sure how far they'd be able to go. If I were to write it, the first draft would include jabs at companies like KFC, Coca-Cola, and Macy's, who used marketing to link their brands firmly to Christmas, and somepony getting biligerent toward Sunny for at some point saying something akin to "Happy Holidays."
I mean, they are selling this series as being about more modern social issues, so it would be kinda silly to not tackle big issues like this, but being a Hasbro property, they probably won't be able to rock the boat that hard, especially unsure at the jabs at capitalist practices, considering Hasbro is a toy company that makes large amounts of profit because of Christmas being marketed as the time to buy kids toys they beg their parents for.

Sawtooth: Why was Sunny the one to trigger the three relics to become an alicorn? Izzy went on the same journey and believed in friendship... but she couldn't bring the three together. Could the answer be in Sunny's name? Could she be related to a certain sun deity?
Something I think about often is pony genetics (stay with me here)
So you know how the cakes were earth ponies, and had a pair of twins?... A pegasus and a unicorn?... Yeah, since the ponies of old had relationships between the three races, wouldn't that mean there might still be some genetic connection between the three tribes? What if one day an earth pony gave birth to a pegasus out of nowhere just because both parents shared pegasus in their bloodline? What did they do with the baby and parents? Were they banished or something? Accused of being pegasai in disguise?
I'm pretty sure they still celebrated Hearth's Warming Eve, just in different ways because instead of writing everything in books like how Twilight did all the time, most of the other ponies probably chose to tell their stories of it orally, just like how humanity did during ancient time. As in the same way that eventually became known as mythology.
I love the context of the show like they literally brought a real world factual horse a mythologic stead. A fanatical magical horse and they put them all in a show where they have harmony which is really weird

I found something In the movie that may have some significance in the future. There is a filly In the move that is seen constantly, including at the end with the three little ponies. Its the filly and look at Sunny while walking away in brital woods, and he has a green coat with purple hair. Im wondering how he will be important in the future, since he was seen in so many scenes and has spoke more than every other background character
I agree. Though the holiday may have evolved over time just as Christmas has (which technically was commandeered by the Christian faith and has origins in Paganism as Saturnalia). Not only has it been adopted by another faith, but it evolved over time and became a secular holiday much different than even the Christian origins. In fact, Santa Claus is relatively new to the holiday.
So I'm sure that the holiday would've evolved into something significantly different than what we previously knew. But it would likely still be around.
A G5 Holiday Special is planned for next year, so that will answer your theory about Hearth's Warming. Personally, I agree with you and hope that the holiday is still around.

I like the idea that the tribes did away with the holiday entirely. Given they had rather deliberately erased the very notion that the tribes had ever worked together or mingled, it follows that they would suppress a holiday that might serve as a reminder of pony unity. If they replaced it with new winter celebrations, I suspect they invented some whole-cloth to suit their propaganda needs. After all, there were several times and places IRL where celebrating Christmas was banned through the centuries.
Maybe now Hearth's Warming is celebrated to mark the each pony tribes' victory over the other two tribes. So maybe, the ponies still read 'A Hearth's Warming tale' but modified with all characters from their own tribe and with a modified ending, in which instead of the windigos taking over after Snowfrost ends Hearth's Warming, the ponies from the other two tribes take over. But sure, after Sunny brings the three pony tribes together, 4:21 probably happens.
I think Flurry heart ;; IS CONNECTED TO THE FLAME HEART THINGY . So even if that flame goes out if Flurry heart still exist her presence will keep away the winter/ Windigos. Also may you please do a theory on Flurryheart and what you think her accomplishment in the stainglass window was..
There is going to be a new Christmas special next year so I think the new Hearth's Warming is about the 3 tribes reuniting again so the past ancient G4 Hearth's Warming was about the first reuniting of the tibes the G5 Hearth's Warming is about the second reuniting of the tribes. Also every country has it's own version of Hearth's Warming so maybe the 3 tribes created their own version of Hearth's Warming.
Lunas future in A Hearth's Warming Tale shows what happens when Hearth's Warming Eve is no more; a world of strife and eternal snow powered by the windigos. So, there must be holiday celebrations going on in the New Gen to keep the windigos at bay, within tribes at least.
Well, the Summer Sun Celebration was replaced by a holiday celebrating Celestia and Luna. So, who knows what could have changed during the timeskip holiday-wise?

I'm late to this but g5 never sat well with me. There was always mixed type relation ships. Though not very common ill admit but they are there. It was never seen as taboo in g4 so what happened? the cakes had twins of diffrent types. you cant just seprate families and stuff with out explanation

I was wondering about this question since season 9 of friendship is magic in The beginning of the end starswirl said "Who do you think was keeping the forest under control before it did" and starswirl was banished to limbo before discord planted the seeds. So what was in the Everfree forest? Of course there are many dangerous things in the forest but those things only attack when disturbed. and they are not as destructive then the plunger seeds.
It's definitely possible that there's other holidays. I personally never celebrated Christmas, but I celebrated Sinterklaas for a very long time, until my parents got a little sick of the holiday.
You know sence the show going to be coming soon I think next Christmas they might make a Christmas special and see what the ponys did for hearths warming/Christmas with Sunny's friends and might make it for all the tribes together now that would be a good episode to see right there
hey! i was kinda wondering if the book that closed at the end of mlp was actually the book that sunnyโs dad was researching and thatโs how the G5 came to be so doesnโt that mean sunnyโs dad was a really important part of G5?
I for sure think they still celebrate a form of hearts warming as mentioned here every culture celebrates around the winter months itโs just a norm in society how much you bet the unicorns have some crazy superstition for that too I am also curious how hearts warming (or whatever it may of turned into) will be with the reintroduction of magic in societies that have learned to live without it for so long
To be honest, I think it's more fitting for ponies to not celebrate Hearth's Warming..for all the reasons that you mentioned - there is simply no point for them to celebrate it anymore. As for Sunny uniting the tribes again, well no one saw the Windagos, so there is no incentive for them to revive the celebration.
Fun fact: One of the oldest winter celebrations date back to ancient Greece. It was named after Saturn (the god, not the planet) and celebrated by giving gifts, cooking feasts, playing games, and spending time with relatives. Criminals were even pardoned for the day so they could partake in the festivities. And now we have ch... Kr... Kri..crys... Chist... Mass? Ch... Kris... Christmas. Christmas. And now we have Christmas, and a whole bunch of other holidays. Incredible how everything changed. Other meanings and rituals were added to our holidays but we can all unite in the celebration of one thing: The coming of winter.

I mean we can already see parallels to what happened in G5 in our world today. Many people just celebrate Christmas as a time of taking a break and spending time with family. Most people forgot the true meaning of Christmas: The Birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It's possible that the ponies of G5 simply forgot the story of the 3 tribes founding Equestria and just focuses on spending time with family and giving gifts.
This is sort of parallel to real life, like in the old days Christmas was a religious holiday but in more modern times thereโs a different angle depending on the family

So idk if this has been covered yet but I had a thought and was hoping you could do some more background into this. 1) If Celestia has a nephew, does that mean there's another sibling, or did Luna have a kid? If so, who was the sibling or who did Luna mate with? 2) If Celestia and Luna are princesses instead of Queens, does that mean their mother is still out there somewhere, or just that they didn't want to share the throne as Queens? 3) in the new generation movie, there's no mention of other creatures. Did they assume the creatures had taken the magic the same way they blamed each other, or were ties broken long before that? What about Twilights school of Friendship? 4) Sunny became an Alicorn due to her princess act. Does that mean that she's a princess, or was that just temporary? 5) We never get to see Flurry heart grow up or get an explanation as to why she was born an Alicorn. If she was the first to be born an Alicorn, why didn't they give us more of an insight on her and who she grew up to be? 6) in the new movie, the ponies only have cutie mark on one side. Also, Sunny=Twilight, Pipp=Rarity, Izzy=Pinkie , Zipp=Rainbow Dash, Hitch=Fluttershy where is the representation of AppleJack? And behind Argyle in the beginning of the movie, he had sticky notes with all of the mane 6 cutie marks EXCEPT Applejack's. Why?? I wonder why there's no snow Alarcon. Cuz to me it kids match MLP from Nightmare moon and Elsa from frozen. And isn't ice/snow one of the most powerful elements out there? People says if ice/snow wasn't here other elements won't be here.
For the new generation, magic ended up diapering, so the unicorns donโt have magic anymore. But all of the ponies are scared of each other, but one earth pony helps the unicorns get their magic back. Now for the hearts warming thing, since every-pony celebrates it because unicorns, earth ponies, and pegases never liked each other but then these three ponies started to like each other and the winter ghost didnโt like that so they went away. Then thatโs when equestrian came, so since celesita and Luna retired and decided that twilight sparkle should be the new ruler Twilight ended up getting a new student. But Iโm wondering what happened to starlight glimmer, she was her student too, but maybe she stopped being her student and went her own ways? Anyway, since twilight has a new student I donโt think her new student is going to be the new ruler. Iโm thinking that something bad happened in the land and their magic disappeared then twilight sparkle and almost every-pony there got defeated. Then in the new generation they donโt have magic, because in the trailer of the film one unicorn said that they USED TO have magic but the donโt anymore, and maybe the earth ponies have heard rumours about the unicorns that theyโre evil and the bad stuff they do with magic so now theyโre against each other.
Iโm just guessing that the reason why the ponies donโt like each other is because of rumours. And some of the earth ponies have heard of twilight sparkle, rarity, rainbow dash, pinkie pie, applejack, and flutter shy. And they know the story of what happened to them, about them saving the world. And the main character that becomes the new alicorn likes unicorns and doesnโt think that theyโre evil. Iโm guessing sheโs going to be the new ruler of their world, and if they donโt celibate hearts warming eve, theyโre probably going to make a new story that โevery-pony hated each other, except for one earth pony. The unicorns lost their magic and this one earth pony helped them get it back.โ
Of course there could be reasons NOT to celebrate hearth's warming or anything at that time. If say the earth ponies looked at it as a pegasus and unicorn holiday they could eschew it. Unicorns could see it as too tied to the earth and to weather and also decide to avoid it. Pegasi could drop it because they wanted things more for the royals and not some earlier tradition that superceded them.
The pegasi and earth ponies would be the only one that still practice Heart's Warming, if you ask me, because of CAPITALISM. Just think about it, holiday deals end the sort
Hello ...I just realized something the 3 crystals look like a alicorn amulet if you look closely...and if you look at Izzy's cutiemark you will see a blue heart like cadance's cutiemark
There is no reason at all for Heart's Warming to be done away with, as the interracial friendships and relationships would have continued, as why wouldn't it with an entire school of friendship which would continue with its graduates continuing to spread friendship across Equestria and beyond, as Twilight sang in S9 E26 "The magic of friendship grows".
In "a new generation" we have a giant jump cut to a future that we wouldn't see that they have given no explanation for because even the "writers" of the film know that their plot has such giant plot holes that a Giraffe could cartwheel through them.
There is also no explanation for why the ponies are now half a blank flank, where all the magic went, why and how they are supposed to use smart phones with hooves or what they are how they are supposed to work or that they somehow know they exist where are the pony's references for them and the same with the televisions.
As I say whoever made this has no idea about how to put a cohesive and therefore believable plot together and they lead of with pro racism ideology and a Nazi theme instead of the antiracism of MLP:FIM which is one of so many reasons it is superior.
Also what about the weather, crops and the Night and Day cycle Equestria is supposed to be different so why are they changing so much of it so now it is a a horrendous clash between Equestria as we have known it for 9 years and the human world IRL, it was obviously made by those that don't care about MLP and know nothing about it, that and lets face it the art style is hideous and we didn't need the change or the CGI.

Christmas is waaaaaaaay younger than a couple thousand years old. And the way most people celebrate Christmas in the 21st century is pretty much brand new. Like, around 100 or so years new. It was actually banned in America until about then soooooooโฆ..way younger than a couple thousand years
When you came for MLP and instead got a christmas history lesson.... If they still celebrate Hearth's Warming Eve it might explain why we don't see windgos anymore,since the holiday was supposed to keep them away or I could be wrong!
Well, itโs possible it could still exist, just a bit different with the tribes. I think itโs a bit similar as Earth ponies and Pegasus have cities in thier tribe, while the unicorns have a forest.
And for whatever or not the Pillars of Equestria still exist in Gen 5, idk yet. Thereโs no proof in the series yet if Starswirl and the former pillars still are around in Gen 5. But I would think they still could, just elderly ponies now. They mightโve retired and live a life as normal.
In summary in the G5 universe - Earth - Decorations will be there but not as many or highly exciting than the ones in Zephyr Heights Pegasus - A lot more decorations together with the royalty coming around, and a concert by Pipp Unicorn - Without magic, they'll probably celebrate with fewer decorations and simpler holidays. Griffin's Blue Moon Festival-level is a possibility.
Fun Fact : When Izzy was young, I'm sure she & her family would do the Earth pony way. Today, she & Sunny would go to Zephyr Heights instead. Sunny of course, a lot more G4-time special with her father, after he passed away, Sunny kept the tradition alive so she'll spread it after she unified the tribes.

I was watching some last episodes of my little pony and when Chrysalis changes into a pony her voice does not change. But the other changeling voices change when they change shapes. I do not know why her voice dos not change.
Even in the human world, Christmas might of been created to celebrate the birth of jesus, but its gone far beyond that. Not everyone who celebrates Christmas believes in christianity, but rather use it as an excuse to spend time with friends and family. The same thing might of happened to heartswarming, ponies celebrating to spend time with eachother despite its origin being against what they believe.

I have a theory that sounds insane and has no proof but that cozy glow was created as a clone from each of the main six. That's why we never saw her parents. What if she was some sort of experiment gone wrong by one of the princesses. She is kind like fluttershy although she was faking it. She gets her cuteness from rarity. She gets her flying ability from rainbow dash. She gets her happiness from pinky pie. She gets her hard working skills from apple jack. And her intelligence comes from twilight. Now i know what you are thinking. She didn't know the elements of harmony well she was probably made as a baby so she would have to learn it over time. How could she be a clone. Remember when crysalis cloned the main six with a picture of them and a tiny bit of their DNA. What if celestia cloned them like that. Except instead of making individual ponies what if it made one pony making cozy glow. Here is my entire story of what happened. Celestia tried to creat copies of the main six. So that she could make more heros. But instead made a baby pony named Cozy Glow. Celestia could have tryed to teach her but she wasn't a unicorn. So she decided to send her to a new school. A school that had just opened. Like the school of friend ship. But as Cozy glow learned more and more about the villains they faced and facts about friendship she got new ideas about what she was learning. She thought she found a way to use friendship to take over Equestria. But she failed and failed again when she was turned into stone with tirek and crysalis. Celestia would keep it a secret and cozy and the main six never knew about it. Now im not saying this is true but i came up with it and i thought it might be something that you would be interesting and you would like it. Can you do a video about why the writers of the MLP FIM show decided not to give Spike the same kind of character development as the Mane_6 since he's the male protagonist of this show despite being a Dragon and not a pony? The only thing I don't understand is that why did Celestia give Spike to Twilight Sparkle instead of returning him to the Dragon Land after he hatched from his egg. I got a cute MLP: ANG Hearts Warming story: Everyone reunited with all pony kinds and after few months when its time of Hearts Warming, and everyone comes to Zephyr Heights for a big celebration. Mane five give each other hugs and then Pipp comes to Zipp and asks :" Have you wrote a letter for Santa Hooves?". Zipp dont wanna say with her friends that they dont believe in Santa Hooves. When everyone is sleeping (Mane five got a sleepover at castle) Pipp wakes up and goes down stairs, and then big magical snow vortex thru the window tries to kidnap Pipp, mane five tries save her, but they all got kidnapped. Then everyone realizes it was a magical reindeer Hariety. She was helping Santa Hooves put the presents under the trees. But her sleight is broken, so everypony fixes it, then reindeer ask Zipp and Hitch pull the sleight (couse they are strongest of them). Hariety turns them in to reindeers, Izzy, Sunny, Pipp and Hariety puts gifts under all christmas trees, and after all Hariety bring tgem to North Pole, gives back Santa Hooves sleight, Santa gives Mane five magical bells, that can turn them into reindeers for one night per moon and in the morning everyone is happy, celebrating.... All my story๐

Well I mean Christmas is a holiday which originated from Christianity, but there are atheists and people of other religious groups who also celebrate it. So just like how many people donโt celebrate Christmas because of its religious origin but instead for family and giving, the same could be with Hearths Warming with family and giving but not unity of the pony tribes.

1 likeProbably. Because in the first generation unicorns, earth ponies and Pegasus hated each other which caused the winter ghost to come. And suddenly in the new generation the magic just disappeared, so maybe because since they disappeared the winter ghost donโt exist anymore. And since sunny knows about the main six, maybe her dad knows about hearts warming eve and heโll tell her about it then she will tell everyone else about it.
0 likesI wouldnโt be surprised if they still celebrate, it would make a lot of sense. My family celebrates Hanukkah and Christmas because itโs how I was raised. My dad was Jewish and my mom is Catholic. So they merged the two and celebrated both. We still celebrate both but Christmas is more about being together, not what the Christians/Catholicโs stole from the pegans. We celebrate it with Santa and dinner with family. Another generation is learning about Santa and knowing where he is.

13 likesLike, the cake twins are an unicorn and a pegasus because the cakes themselves have unicorn and pegasus relatives, and thus carry those genes.
After a few generations, those genes would faze out and thus you wouldn't have ponies randomly having kids of different tribes.
Like, if I have a grandma with blonde hair, then sure, my kid could have blonde hair, but if I only have a 12-times-great grandma with blonde hair, then that's just not going to happen.
@Chara Violet speaking of genetic, why when a unicorn and a Pegasus has kids, the foal would only get the mane and coat color fusion, but not horn and wings? What stop this from being happening?
4 likes@ืกืืื ืงืืืคืื Genetics are pretty complicated, but generally it's probably that hair/coat colors come from a wide range of different genes working together, causing the possibility for mixed colors rather than just either-or, but when it comes to the tribes it's more of a single set of genes determining the foal's type. So you don't really get the situation of being two tribes at once.

1 likeAS for the question on genetics and it expressing it's self. Well that could play out just like genetics in animals can. Whether a cow has horns or not depends on the genetic expression. If a cow and bull both have no horns but have the gene for it their calf will likely end up with horns. Then you also have dominant and recessive traits. Genetics can get really complicated.

10 likesHey Sawtooth, I wanted to just put this out there (I doubt you'll see, but I don't mind), but I think you have contradicting theories when it comes to time travel within the G4-verse. The thing I'm most stuck on is how there possibly be multiple timelines because of Starlight's actions, even though Bootstrap theory somewhat disproves multiverse theory (unless it was a completely different type of time spell altogether). Here's my reasoning: when it comes to bootstrap theory (especially Twilight's in this case) you move backwards to a point in time where you still exist and Twilight ends up going forward in time back to her (somewhat) original point within that line. Because of this, we're led to believe that she couldn't have traveled to another universe because she is still likely in her own when she goes back, and still in her own when returns to the present. While Starlight messing with the timeline isn't exactly bootstrap, we should definitely consider her magic to be using the same rules as Twilight's shenanigans. To further my point, when Twilight ends up in the timeline where Chrysalis is taking over Equstria, Zecora points out that they, the ponies, ended up in this timeline by mistake, because this timeline is incorrect. While she could have easily meant Twilight was in the wrong universe, she specifically states "it is we who should not be." That's some odd choice of words if you're trying to tell a pony that they aren't from your universe, but if you're able to recognize that the timeline has been disrupted, then it'd make a lot more sense. Just my two cents though, if you read this, happy holidays to you, and I enjoy the content!

And by the end of it Sunny fails, but something happens and she realizes that the entire time she was ignoring what hearths warming eve was truly about, and that it was about bringing ponies together.
So then the episode will probaly end on all three tribes traditions somehow combining into one big tradition, making a new hearths warming eve that represents the new generation.
But that's just my guess.

And fighting between the tribes is what specifically brought them back in the MLP finale, so it's not just from the origin story. Fighting in general doesn't do it. The other species were at each others' throats when the Student Six went missing, but the Windigos didn't show up. Ponies have fought with yaks, changelings, etc. but it only seems to be pony infighting that's the problem.

How did they escape the endless winter without freezing to death? We've seen how powerful it is in A Hearth's Warming Tail. Everything was consumed. There effectively was no future.

0 likesAlso, I'm now imagining a holiday special where members of the three tribes get heated about which holiday is "correct," thus threatening the stability of the world in some way. Maybe their arguing starts to resurrect the Windigo, or causes the crystals to start shifting apart. They probably wouldn't go for the more real-world political thriller angle, so it would most like need some kind of magical threat. I think it'd be a fun, tense bit of writing, with plenty of jokes, though I'm not sure how far they'd be able to go. If I were to write it, the first draft would include jabs at companies like KFC, Coca-Cola, and Macy's, who used marketing to link their brands firmly to Christmas, and somepony getting biligerent toward Sunny for at some point saying something akin to "Happy Holidays."

3 likesI agree. Though the holiday may have evolved over time just as Christmas has (which technically was commandeered by the Christian faith and has origins in Paganism as Saturnalia). Not only has it been adopted by another faith, but it evolved over time and became a secular holiday much different than even the Christian origins. In fact, Santa Claus is relatively new to the holiday.

Given they had rather deliberately erased the very notion that the tribes had ever worked together or mingled, it follows that they would suppress a holiday that might serve as a reminder of pony unity. If they replaced it with new winter celebrations, I suspect they invented some whole-cloth to suit their propaganda needs. After all, there were several times and places IRL where celebrating Christmas was banned through the centuries.

Most people forgot the true meaning of Christmas: The Birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. So idk if this has been covered yet but I had a thought and was hoping you could do some more background into this. 1) If Celestia has a nephew, does that mean there's another sibling, or did Luna have a kid? If so, who was the sibling or who did Luna mate with? 2) If Celestia and Luna are princesses instead of Queens, does that mean their mother is still out there somewhere, or just that they didn't want to share the throne as Queens? 3) in the new generation movie, there's no mention of other creatures. Did they assume the creatures had taken the magic the same way they blamed each other, or were ties broken long before that? What about Twilights school of Friendship? 4) Sunny became an Alicorn due to her princess act. Does that mean that she's a princess, or was that just temporary? 5) We never get to see Flurry heart grow up or get an explanation as to why she was born an Alicorn. If she was the first to be born an Alicorn, why didn't they give us more of an insight on her and who she grew up to be? 6) in the new movie, the ponies only have cutie mark on one side. Also, Sunny=Twilight, Pipp=Rarity, Izzy=Pinkie , Zipp=Rainbow Dash, Hitch=Fluttershy where is the representation of AppleJack? And behind Argyle in the beginning of the movie, he had sticky notes with all of the mane 6 cutie marks EXCEPT Applejack's. Why?? But all of the ponies are scared of each other, but one earth pony helps the unicorns get their magic back. Now for the hearts warming thing, since every-pony celebrates it because unicorns, earth ponies, and pegases never liked each other but then these three ponies started to like each other and the winter ghost didnโt like that so they went away. Then thatโs when equestrian came, so since celesita and Luna retired and decided that twilight sparkle should be the new ruler Twilight ended up getting a new student. But Iโm wondering what happened to starlight glimmer, she was her student too, but maybe she stopped being her student and went her own ways? Anyway, since twilight has a new student I donโt think her new student is going to be the new ruler. Iโm thinking that something bad happened in the land and their magic disappeared then twilight sparkle and almost every-pony there got defeated. Then in the new generation they donโt have magic, because in the trailer of the film one unicorn said that they USED TO have magic but the donโt anymore, and maybe the earth ponies have heard rumours about the unicorns that theyโre evil and the bad stuff they do with magic so now theyโre against each other.

0 likesOf course there could be reasons NOT to celebrate hearth's warming or anything at that time. If say the earth ponies looked at it as a pegasus and unicorn holiday they could eschew it. Unicorns could see it as too tied to the earth and to weather and also decide to avoid it. Pegasi could drop it because they wanted things more for the royals and not some earlier tradition that superceded them.

0 likesThere is no reason at all for Heart's Warming to be done away with, as the interracial friendships and relationships would have continued, as why wouldn't it with an entire school of friendship which would continue with its graduates continuing to spread friendship across Equestria and beyond, as Twilight sang in S9 E26 "The magic of friendship grows".
0 likesIn "a new generation" we have a giant jump cut to a future that we wouldn't see that they have given no explanation for because even the "writers" of the film know that their plot has such giant plot holes that a Giraffe could cartwheel through them.
There is also no explanation for why the ponies are now half a blank flank, where all the magic went, why and how they are supposed to use smart phones with hooves or what they are how they are supposed to work or that they somehow know they exist where are the pony's references for them and the same with the televisions.
As I say whoever made this has no idea about how to put a cohesive and therefore believable plot together and they lead of with pro racism ideology and a Nazi theme instead of the antiracism of MLP:FIM which is one of so many reasons it is superior.
Also what about the weather, crops and the Night and Day cycle Equestria is supposed to be different so why are they changing so much of it so now it is a a horrendous clash between Equestria as we have known it for 9 years and the human world IRL, it was obviously made by those that don't care about MLP and know nothing about it, that and lets face it the art style is hideous and we didn't need the change or the CGI.

Fun Fact : When Izzy was young, I'm sure she & her family would do the Earth pony way. Today, she & Sunny would go to Zephyr Heights instead. Sunny of course, a lot more G4-time special with her father, after he passed away, Sunny kept the tradition alive so she'll spread it after she unified the tribes.

I have a theory that sounds insane and has no proof but that cozy glow was created as a clone from each of the main six. That's why we never saw her parents. What if she was some sort of experiment gone wrong by one of the princesses. She is kind like fluttershy although she was faking it. She gets her cuteness from rarity. She gets her flying ability from rainbow dash. She gets her happiness from pinky pie. She gets her hard working skills from apple jack. And her intelligence comes from twilight. Now i know what you are thinking. She didn't know the elements of harmony well she was probably made as a baby so she would have to learn it over time. How could she be a clone. Remember when crysalis cloned the main six with a picture of them and a tiny bit of their DNA. What if celestia cloned them like that. Except instead of making individual ponies what if it made one pony making cozy glow. Here is my entire story of what happened. Celestia tried to creat copies of the main six. So that she could make more heros. But instead made a baby pony named Cozy Glow. Celestia could have tryed to teach her but she wasn't a unicorn. So she decided to send her to a new school. A school that had just opened. Like the school of friend ship. But as Cozy glow learned more and more about the villains they faced and facts about friendship she got new ideas about what she was learning. She thought she found a way to use friendship to take over Equestria. But she failed and failed again when she was turned into stone with tirek and crysalis. Celestia would keep it a secret and cozy and the main six never knew about it. Now im not saying this is true but i came up with it and i thought it might be something that you would be interesting and you would like it. Could you please make a video on this if you like this theory.

Mane five give each other hugs and then Pipp comes to Zipp and asks :" Have you wrote a letter for Santa Hooves?". Zipp dont wanna say with her friends that they dont believe in Santa Hooves. When everyone is sleeping (Mane five got a sleepover at castle) Pipp wakes up and goes down stairs, and then big magical snow vortex thru the window tries to kidnap Pipp, mane five tries save her, but they all got kidnapped. Then everyone realizes it was a magical reindeer Hariety. She was helping Santa Hooves put the presents under the trees. But her sleight is broken, so everypony fixes it, then reindeer ask Zipp and Hitch pull the sleight (couse they are strongest of them). Hariety turns them in to reindeers, Izzy, Sunny, Pipp and Hariety puts gifts under all christmas trees, and after all Hariety bring tgem to North Pole, gives back Santa Hooves sleight, Santa gives Mane five magical bells, that can turn them into reindeers for one night per moon and in the morning everyone is happy, celebrating....
