Fun Fact #1: "Somnambula" was the name of a villain from G1 of MLP, a human enchantress who used her magic to put all the ponies under a sleeping spell.
Fun Fact#2: The name is a combination of the Latin words "Somnus" meaning "Sleep", and "Ambulo" meaning "To Walk". Literally translated, it would mean "Sleep Walker".
Also, I think a lot of the people who are saying that 'Hope doesn't mean what they think it means' . . . are misunderstanding the story. They seem to think that they're saying hope is the same as faith, but that's not what they were saying. Somnambula had the courage to take her leap of faith, because of the hope she held in her heart for a brighter future for herself and her people.
Little bit of trivia, Somnambula's name is a combination of somnolence and ambulo, which translate to "sleep" and "wander", referenced by the way she walked across a bridge blindfolded, like one walking in their sleep.
0:38 "You look like an old man who was also a baby and sounds like an adult." And he looks like the product of a one-night stand between Daring Do and Featherweight (the editor of the school paper).
Ah Somnambula. Definitely my favorite of the legends, but not because of anything she does in the show. It's the comics Somnambula that I think is great.
@Ocean Solstice I don't remember exactly why I commented this, but I think it was because Ponybro said Season 7 was the season of Waifus and I disagreed and said it was Season 6...I don't think I agree with that position anymore. I think it is indeed Season 7 now.
In my opinion, I consider this Daring Do episode to be the weakest. Unlike the previous entry’s we’ve had, this one is lacking in the action and excitement department. Basically, this story strayed away from the original Daring Do formula that the others have. Plus, it was painfully obvious that the identity of Caballeron was too easy to pinpoint and would have been better if it wasn’t that obvious (to keep us in suspense, basically). The only highlight of this episode for me was the legend of Somnambula and the Sphinx. Somnambula is my favorite pony of these legends that were brought up, another character that caught my attention and my second favorite tale after Mistmane’s.
Agreed! Aside from mistmane who is also my favorite legend, somnambula cones second as she is very interesting, especially considering that in G1 somnambula then was an evil sorceress who tried to sap life force from the ponies using her pet bird.... And she's not even a pony!
4:53 "Get your hoof off of Rainbow's... tits. Oh, sorry, they're not there." You should have seen plenty of art by now that shows where they are supposed to be. ;)

@True Edge I remember it was also a g1 thing. I actually watched a lot of g1 out of curiosity.
1 likeClose, but not quite. It's actually a reference to a G1 villain, who was a human sorceress who put all the ponies under a "Sleepwalking" spell.

The sphinx is more adorable than threatening imo kinda like nightmare moon.
17 likesThis is my absolute favourite Daring Do episode. It's high up there in the season, too.
5 likesI think a better name for "Daring Done?" would be "Daring Doo and the Dual Waifus."

This is good episode. Though the villagers come off as kind of stupid. The legend is pretty cool. The concept is also interesting.
