@xxSilliestGooseI know I’m two years late, and maybe you’ve had time to repent and atone for this heinous act, but just in case, I’m here to tell you this is sacrilege.
Exactly what I was thinking... sometimes it seems like his fans didn't understand him at all in some of the things they obsess about...but this...this he would have loved!
@Radio Jerk I think it's because of Kurt's approval of the parody of 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' by Weird Al Yankovic. Gives the impression that Kurt did not take himself/ his music TOO seriously
@Radio Jerk Because he had a weird sense of humor. I don't even like Nirvana's music or know that much about them, but what little I do know about Cobain tells me he probably would have gotten a kick out of this.
@Radio Jerk Well, he had a good sense of humour, he gave permission to Weird Al to do a parody of a Nirvana song and of course lets not forget the infamous and genius Top of the Pops stunt they did after refusing to lip sync. It's not a huge leap to think that someone who had a good sense of humour about his band's music would have found this well-made parody amusing, is it?
Knowing the way he was, he actually probably would have tried to sue the channel. Kurt even b!#ched about Tool's "Sober" video being a copy of these two brothers film work, who's names elude me at the moment. Though Kurt stated that they should sue the hell out of Tool for making their video look similar to the films. Remember, Kurt was on heroin and/or other drugs just about all of the time, his actions were unpredictable. Though, maybe I'm wrong, maybe he would have love this. The world may never know. I'll ask my daughter to channel Kurt and we'll see what he says.
@Radio Jerk because Kurt had a really funny sense of humour and he embraced ridiculousness. Once his music was in the culture, he wasted no time being precious about it.
Really? I was just thinking: Now we know the reason for his suicide. (Disregarding the timeline of the suicide and when this video was released, of course. 😉 )
From what his life story tells, and the type of person he was, (halted an entire show in the middle of a song to get security on a guy groping a girl in the audience) he would have absolutely loved that somebody was able to do this
I can imagine someone who’s never heard this before being told it’s one of the greatest songs of all time, then playing this version full blast in their car thinking they’re cool lmfao
Honestly, I can't recall ever hearing the original but this version on it's own is pretty good.. just not my style lol now to listen to the original which is probably more my style
Thanks Spruce! I'll definitely keep in mind an album down the road. Having been in a few bands, I know it's getting harder and harder to make much money from those (and it also loses some of the humor without the video it's dubbed with) but something to try when I find some more time!
Aside from this being one of my favourite songs ever, this video came out on the day of my 30th birthday. It was meant to be. Keep up the great work. Kudos!
This is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen. Fav new channel / thank you. Very well done. I hope this gets you there - and let’s you showcase your musical talent.
Can we all appreciate the fact that There I Ruined It is actually a pretty good singer and his (or her) voice along the beat makes every single one of his (or her) clips 100% believable and enjoyable.
Oh dude, I also tried an Old Fashioned Swing once. Unforgettable experience. When I was just a young lad, my grandpa used to take me to the playground where I would play for hours on end all while he would meet up with his old friends from the Senior Center who would stop by the Park. There was a swing I always wanted to try at this park but I was scared because it was all rusty and creaky, seemed like it might break at any moment, well one day my grandpa's friend Vondrich spotted me looking tentatively at the swingset and he came over, put his arm on my shoulder and said "Strapping young lad like you should have no trouble. No trouble whatsoever." I sensed his good will and felt encouraged, I nodded my head and stepped forward but before I could take to the swing, Vondrich spoke "How old are ya, lad?" I turned around to answer him "26" I said proudly. "Oh that's just perfect" Vondrich replied, "Look kid. I got a real Old Wife. So how'd ya like to ditch this playground and come over to my place for an Old Fashioned Swing?". Skeptical of this turn of good fortune, I pinched myself and said "Race ya there!" Ciao.
You see, Music as a Universal Art must be shown by translation into different times, with different feelings with different genres to be proven truly Masterworks. You did not Ruin it - You found the missing piece to the puzzle.
Really though, if nothing had happened to Kurt, you could almost imagine Nirvana reuniting to do this on one of those PBS nostalgia shows 25 or 30 years from now - just like they do for big band and classic rock-'n'-roll today... that audience would be the former '90s teens. 😏
This video reminds me of those live shows on PBS / WTTW when they’d be showing clips of live performances that you could get by calling in and making a donation 😂
I worked at a radio station in Cadillac Michigan. We had a News Director who would always walk around the studio singing the pop hits like a big band swing. I miss those days.
You, good Texan, accomplished the impossible: You made a North Carolinian who absolutely despises everything, and I mean everything, about Nirvana, and made him despise Nirvana slightly less. You have made my day.
that "ZING!" at 0:53 made me laugh out loud very hard You've got a gun in me You've got a gun in me When being on the road looks rough ahead And you're miles and miles from your nice warm lead Juat remember what Smith & Wesson said Boy, you've got a gun in me
As much potential for greatness this whole entire scenario has built up, I still completely FAIL to understand, hear and/or see how this is possibly considered a "swing" music version of this song... Idk, but imo it sounds a little too slow to be considered "swing" to me, personally. But hey, I'm also no credited music critic for The Rolling Stone magazine either, so either way still laughing my ass off to every single video on this channel The people demand more ruining of these legendary songs gone wild! Please don't disappoint. @There I Ruined It
You shouldn't use the word rape like that. It's a very serious issue and something Kurt would have gotten in your face for doing. Ask your wife about it, she'll back me up if she's a real fan.
@JonasDash Humour is how we take power away from things that hurt us. Words can't hurt you, but the way we use them, and the context can.
I really appreciate you take rape seriously, but taking issue with using words like this trivialises the seriousness of the issue. It becomes about you and your experiences. It also gives ammunition top people who want to trivialise it. Save your energy where it counts.

Hey there! I'm a reporter on the WGN-TV Morning News in Chicago. I'm wondering if I can show a few clips of your videos in my "Trending News" segment and talk about what you're doing on the channel. The videos are hilarious!
You should hate yourself. This is one of the worst things I've ever listened to. Now I've shared it with all of my friends because it's unfair if they don't suffer as much as I did.
I like how you changed a band from being a favourite amongst teens and adults to now being a band that just plays for nursing homes hahaha.

0 likesEvery time I watch this, the zoot and then the applause kills me.
12 likesEvery time.
youve made my day this is so so so good
1 likeReally though, if nothing had happened to Kurt, you could almost imagine Nirvana reuniting to do this on one of those PBS nostalgia shows 25 or 30 years from now - just like they do for big band and classic rock-'n'-roll today... that audience would be the former '90s teens. 😏
1 likeThis is fantastic!!!
0 likesOf course Dave Grohl would go on to become a fabulous swing trombonist.
0 likesThe video is also amazing.. such insane editing..
3 likesI actually love this.
0 likesThe dancing grannies really brings it home.
0 likesIn the end Nirvana became what they were rebelling against. Well at least in an alternate universe.
1 likeThis is art.
1 like00:53 That was artful!!!
4 likesThis video reminds me of those live shows on PBS / WTTW when they’d be showing clips of live performances that you could get by calling in and making a donation 😂
0 likesI worked at a radio station in Cadillac Michigan. We had a News Director who would always walk around the studio singing the pop hits like a big band swing. I miss those days.
0 likesYou, good Texan, accomplished the impossible: You made a North Carolinian who absolutely despises everything, and I mean everything, about Nirvana, and made him despise Nirvana slightly less. You have made my day.
0 likesit was in how he sang the word "memory " I knew I would never see my sweet child again.
32 likesThis is soooo good.
0 likesI was expecting swing dancing
0 likesAnyway this is delightful

0 likesThis is what it sounds like when I sing Nirvana in the shower (minus the slide whistle)
0 likesReplies (1)
I once used the slide whistle in the shower but almost died, as it was an 'electric slide'.
1 likeNeed a full version ^^
0 likesIf the Weird 'Al' genre of satirical music had a meta, this would be it.
13 likesThe editing is spot on.
0 likesUnfortunately you can't ruin Nirvana. They're already at the bottom of the barrel.
2 likesThis is so funny. Cracking vocals 😂
0 likesI love that you included the guy clapping on 1 and 3, good shit!
2 likesReplies (1)
Thank you sir. He didn’t strike me as a 2 & 4 kind of clapper 😂
1 likethis is beautiful
1 likeThis almost reminds me of Pat Boone's metal album, and the craze he started of giving rock and metal songs the 'standards' treatment.
0 likesalright how do I get them to play this at my funeral
0 likesThis is amazing.
1 likeAmazing work! Any chance of a lounge music version of Slipknot - Duality?
0 likes👏 glad I found your channel. Love it 😅

0 likesThe best thing I’ve ever seen!!! 😂😂😂😂
3 likesPure genius. I would like to buy you a beer friend.
0 likesDo I thumbs down for how ruined this song is, or thumbs up because the creator did exactly what he said he would do?

0 likesSo in this timeline, in 30 years Nirvana would be playing the early bird matinee at the Lancaster Music Theatre (down the road from Amish World).
0 likesThat sounds like Randy Newman had a two day bender, then on a whim, decided to record a song while coming down. Great job.
0 likesReplies (1)
Strangely accurate.
0 likesIf you meant to ruin this you failed. I’m ready for Tom Waits to do the whole thing now

2 likesThis needs a muppet cover
2 likesHAHAHAHA!!!! OMG that was hysterical!!!
2 likesThis video has absolutely no business being in perfect sync with the song. How did you get Dave Grohl to hit the drums at the exact same rhythm?
1 likeAaaand now I can’t take original song serious any longer!
0 likesThat works way better than it has any right to
0 likesI think it is very nice! Thank you very much <3
0 likesThis is the type of stupid stuff I do by myself walking out in the middle of nowhere

This reminds me of another improvement over original Nirvana,
1 likethe Puddle of Mudd cover of Nirvana. It sounded better than Kurt C.
oof this was rough. hahaha nice job!!
0 likesWhy do I think I remember Hugh Laurie singing this in one of his House TV show delusions? XD
0 likesI'm not a musician so I'm confused. Is this just the original sped up? In any case, it is Interesting!

0 likesI kinda hope people will watch this in 10 years, enjoy it and think YouTube was always so cool back then.
0 likesIf he heard this today, he'd blow his own brains out.
0 likesThis formula would be more entertaining if you kept more of the original melody, otherwise it's just a completely different song with the same lyrics.
0 likesAnother fun video
0 likesThe aul ones dancing hahahaha love it
0 likeswell... sounds better than the original extremely overrated droop lol.
0 likesSounds like it’s straight out of the toy story soundtrack
0 likesBetter than the original!
0 likesAs much potential for greatness this whole entire scenario has built up, I still completely FAIL to understand, hear and/or see how this is possibly considered a "swing" music version of this song... Idk, but imo it sounds a little too slow to be considered "swing" to me, personally. But hey, I'm also no credited music critic for The Rolling Stone magazine either, so either way still laughing my ass off to every single video on this channel
0 likesThe people demand more ruining of these legendary songs gone wild! Please don't disappoint. @There I Ruined It
I hate this, and i love this.
82 likesMy wife is a life long Nirvana mega fan. Knows all about them and followed them religiously, she loves this!
3 likesI hope you can rape a lot more classic songs. Maybe some AC/DC carnival music or the Beatles polka?
Replies (2)
You shouldn't use the word rape like that. It's a very serious issue and something Kurt would have gotten in your face for doing. Ask your wife about it, she'll back me up if she's a real fan.
1 like@JonasDash Humour is how we take power away from things that hurt us. Words can't hurt you, but the way we use them, and the context can.
3 likesI really appreciate you take rape seriously, but taking issue with using words like this trivialises the seriousness of the issue. It becomes about you and your experiences. It also gives ammunition top people who want to trivialise it. Save your energy where it counts.
Sounds like Charlie in Always Sunny in Philadelphia 😂
1 likeIt’s actually not too bad. Still hurts my ears but I kind of like it. My brother on the other hand, not so much.
0 likesNice, this is actually enjoyable, compared to the original. I never liked Nirvana, they were just an annoying teen-angst whine-pop band. 😋
