I'm planning on reacting to the rest of the episodes this season, all the way to the finale tonight. Now that i'm settled in, I can really binge these things lol. Stay tuned!
Hell yea, honestly, I like some others, just want you to get to season 6 ASAP so you can start watching the Totally Legit Recaps by DWK. I'm sure they'd be right up your alley.
PonyBro I Guess bit of an interesting fact about this episode: The two shooting stars that are shown arcing through the sky twice represent Apple jacks parents. It was the closest thing for a long time they would ever get to acknowledging that her parents are dead.
@@ponybroiguess384 I already sent you a timeline, but i forgot to add 2 things and I didn't know there was going to be a new EQG special, I will send you an updated full timeline with those after it comes out.
13:15 Apple Sauce: "A lady never reveals the age of her teeth!" PonyBro: "I didn't know about that rule." Well, vets and ranchers usually discern a horse's age by examining its teeth...
@DumFukkJuice I'll believe when I'll see the body. Without it, every pony might as well just believe that they're dead from whatever reason & being mistaken.
"How long is a Moon?" No one knows. Not even the writers. When asked, they very non-specifically stated that it has no equivalent in our world, which is, I suppose, a fancy way of saying "However long with want it to be".
And, seeing as a lot of people are just blurting it out, instead of helping you come to the conclusion yourself, yes. According to the show staff, including Lauren Faust, Aj and her siblings are orphans. However, due to Discovery Family's extremely tight content control, which apparently forbids even the mention of death, they were unable to explain how they passed.
Fun fact about Granny Smiths age: She was there for the founding of Ponyville. Ponyville is hundreds(plural) of years old according to Twilight in Winter Wrap Up. Granny Smith is canonically at least 200 years old.
Technically she could still be a normal age. Its possible while the area has had a town there for centuries, Granny Smith was the one that put it on the map much after its existence.
2:39 Granny Smith: "I still can't believe it's been almost 100 moons since our last family reunion." Ponybro: "How long is a moon?" There are several theories in the fandom regarding this. The two most popular theories are that a moon is A) a full moon, or lunar cycle (about 28 days), or B) a day, as in one moon = one night.
If you believe that the family reunion we saw in the pilot episode counted (that was what AJ called it in the 4th episode, Applebuck Season, when explaining why the rest of the Apple family Twilight saw couldn't help with the harvest), then theory B makes more sense. However, 100 months sounds like a more reasonable period to be surprised has passed between reunions than 100 days.
@@Matias-ub4iu I think you are correct with that logic. Btw, I think you meant "Summer Sun Celebration". Summer Sun Setback was an episode title in season 9.
In Season 4 Episode 1 "Princess Twilight Sparkle Part 1" the Summer Sun Celebration occurs, as in the first episode of the series "Friendship is Magic", so by this point a year has already passed. So I think that 100 months is too much and 100 days is too little, I think that for this episode 11 months passed since the apple family reunion of the first episode. Of course it is not known if that was the last reunion prior to this episode. A moon would occur every half week.
I really appreciate that you are doing everything possible to keep the picture and sound in the video. I can't imagine how much longer I would have watched your reactions if I had to turn on the series at the same time
I can't wait to watch more of your MLP reaction videos; I absolutely enjoy them. Also, I really liked this episode. It was nice to see the rest of the Apple family. I can't wait to finish the rest of the season and the series.
@@clearmelody6252 She also said that Pegasi poop helium-soaked doodles that can fly ;) My point is, she said many things that later turned out to be different in the show, so I don't think it's a valid argument. Especially since she left the show after season 2 and didn't have much to say in its later production. Heck, even the new writers often changed their minds about what they said before. So for me, the only thing that's canon is what actually happened in the show, not what any creators of the show say.
That address mistake reminds me of classic New Year Soviet movie, that in English called, I believe, "The Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath!" ("Ирония судьбы, или С лёгким паром!" in Russian), where protagonist ends up in stranger's house of the exact same address, but in Leningrad (Saint Petersburg now) instead of Moscow. So, basically the other state too. Somethin'-Somethin', roughly Washington DC to Detroit in terms of distance.
A-A-ANYWAY, back to ponies.
2:46 Exactly one "plot year". 3:24 Well... 4:42 So, Discord distracted you, eh? 8:58 CGDCT. Or, I Guess, CPDCT. 10:17 Ponybro is a Tsundere: Confirmed. 10:44 Couldn't make it. 00:01 Yayyy! Good to see you in one piece :) 00:38 I don't get it... :| So was it the same exact address, or a different one? Anyway, what are the odds?... :q 04:27 Granny Smith becoming hot for a moment :J 06:09 That Ametican Gothic painting parody in the background :D 07:30 Well, if moons work the same way as in Human World, then one full Moon cycle is approximately one month. So 100 moons is 8 years and 4 months. 09:50 First Sweetie Belle, now Applejack? So many golden ponies :) 14:56 Yeah... Buckle up for much more, because this sound effect seems to be the animators' favourite :q and they put it in at the most ridiculous moments :q 20:25 That would be the least to do ;) 20:40 Hahah yeah, many people misheard it as that, and there's even a remake of this song with those actual lyrics :D 22:00 So much blood in this episode :J
I also used to put them into lists like that, but unfortunately Youtube has recently been preventing me from posting comments with multiple time stamps. I either get the error message "Comment failed to post", or it seems to go through but never appears, even for the uploader (and it doesn't go to spam either; it just doesn't exist).
That's why I've had to separate my comments into individual time stamped moments lately.
@@shadowwolf7726 If by "structure" you mean timestamps used to refer to particular moments in the video, then I was doing that long before I've seen others doing that, because... well... it's a good way to refer to particular moments in the video? Because it's a feature that is simply possible on YouTube? I didn't know it's "copyrighted" ;)
This episode was okay for the most part, but Raise This Barn and that part with baby Applejack were pretty memorable for me. And of course, it was held together with a really good message. Applejack episodes seem to have more family-based morals than the others.
On another note, the thing about Applejack is that she's always been doing just what she loved ever since she got her cutie mark. Completely satisfied with who she is, and no defined life goals, the writers had a harder time giving her character growth because of that, I suppose. She's probably the hardest of the mane 6 to write, honestly.
Or they just have limited imagination ;) Because to me, an accomplished character has one huge "flaw" that can easily be exploited: the worry of losing it all :> You have a nice family that you love above all? Well that's too bad, because a villain can easily threaten your loved ones to hold you in check ;> You're rich and you've built an empire? Well, that's too bad as well, because someone can take your money away, or use your loved ones for ransome ;> You are very moral? Too bad, because one can put you in a double bind in which you would have to choose between sticking to your morals and losing something else (a sacrifice), or preserving that something else at the prices of your morals. Reusing well-known tropes in writing can be limiting ;>
Towards the end of that episode where we get to see the apple's parents, Applebloom said " come on, mom and dad LEFT US something to REMEMBER THEM." No child ever says that if their parents were still around. So they have to be dead somehow.
