Idk if you remember but in the first Friendship is Witchcraft, Fluttershy was singing "Hellfire". You wondered what the hell she was singing. Well, there you go. That song is from this movie.
So you accidentally watched the beginning of 'Rudy' huh? That's still a good movie, not to mention the actor that played Sam in Lord of the Rings was the main Character.
The part I found very interesting is when during the song 'Hellfire' God actually answered his prayer and gave him an out, but he still choose to go after her.
If you haven’t already seen it, you should react to How to Train Your Dragon. It’s one of DreamWorks’ best movies ever, and I think you’ll really like it!
Sadly the hunchback of Notre Dame came around the time that Disney had ended their golden age. It was a noodably darker film than even their norm, and it was using a source material that not many people even knew about to begin with. It’s sense gotten a lot more appreciation than when it was originally in theaters. But it probably would’ve done better if it had come out after lion king but before Pocahontas.
(A big irony about those two movies. Disney thought Pocahontas was going to be the big moneymaker, and they didn’t think lion King was going to do as well. So much so that it was actually said that animators who screwed up on Pocahontas were “punished“ by being made to work on lion King.)
@@SpacialRend7 i’m not sure about that. I mean those four movies are good don’t get me wrong. But if I remember correctly they weren’t really box office smashes. And they weren’t nearly as well received as they are now. Remember after Pixar became an a juggernaut with their movies starting with toy story. There was actually a point in which it was believed that Disney was going to fail and that Pixar was going to become the new top dog. Only for Pixar to swoop in and help Disney.
@@Nazo-kage You’re right about Pocahontas being the big flop from that line of Disney films. However, Hunchback, Hercules, Mulan, and Tarzan were successful films after that.
@@SpacialRend7 i’m not so sure about that. It was good but Tarzan was kind of a rare one. The first golden age of Disney seem to of stopped at the lion King with Pocahontas being the big stinker, The ended their winning streak.

I call this film “mature” rather than dark. The Black Cauldron however, is indeed dark and kinda mature too.

I wouldn’t say this film was that last of the “golden”(Renaissance) age. Tarzan was actually the last entry from that era.
