I love this episode I love that the villains got their time to shine more and I liked that Twilight was able to changed her behavior so she wouldn't be able to freak out she stayed calm.
No one probably gave the faded eye's any thought because Tirek took all their magic last time, making the cutie marks disappear, but this time only took enough to make them weak.
Another great plot driven episode of the season this is! It’s great that Michael Vogel was tasked to write this episode after the success of “Frenemies.”
I got really excited to see the direction this episode was taking with the Terrible Trio putting their plans into motion. With the addition of the Summer Sun Celebration as the focus in this plot, I was on the edge of my seat for this episode.
Then there’s the way that Twilight carried herself in this episode. Time after time, she always seemed to get stressed and frazzled in tough situations, but now we see her in another light. One where she remains calm, collected and takes charge to fixing big problems like this one here. A big step up in Twilight’s character growth, I must say.
It was really cool that the SS Celebration was dubbed to be the “Festival of the Two Sisters,” I like that a lot.
The plot is thickening and there’s trouble brewing for our heroes. What follows next is nothing short of one surprise after another. Nuff said.
Yeah, with this episode being right before Twilight having one of her most insane freakouts kind of makes it difficult to swallow that she's changed so drastically so quickly. I guess if you think about it, she's developed so much that when she had that freakout at Trivia Trot, she was finally introspective enough to realize just how carried away she can get, and that's what got her to be as calm as she was here. That's the theory I'm going with.
The fact that the fireworks troupe could be so easily convinced to totally revamp their entire existence and worldview after one brief, vague conversation with a total stranger is freaking ridiculous. It's a good episode beyond that single facet of utter stupidity, though. I absolutely love what Twilight did for the princesses at the end!
Ik it seems they were easily convinced but that's actually how easy it IS to convince someone. Someone totally ripped on their magic, which is basically their pride, so yep. They're going to want to prove themselves.
Applejack finally getting fed up with everyone ignoring her is fantastic.

Discord absolutely knew what the Legion were up to. He was keeping tabs on them basically the entire episode.

7 likesNow this is how you write a great episode! At least somebody (Michael Vogel) knew what they were doing this season.

Finally the villains did something good.
