Being a former Brony, I visit back to these types of videos every once and a while. But this one just stands out as an overall "Revolution" for future PMV's, I'm amazed at the effects and the way you include the feel and beat of the music to express the visuals. My favourite PMV would have to Ink. The effects make it look almost "too real" and the music gets to meh feelz m8.
The hues in this video are so vibrant; I just love the bright saturated colors! And the fluid motion of the entire video is stunning, it flows perfectly! The transitions are amazing to say the least! Don't even get me started on those tasty visuals at 1:15. Delicious!
Awesomely made! This deserves much more views! I wouldn't have used that moon pattern at 0:29 though, because at the time the story is telling about, before Luna became Nightmare Moon, she wasn't sealed in the moon yet, so the moon had not yet that pony shape on it. (There's a pony shape on it because she is sealed within, as it disappears at the end of episode 1 because she has broken free) Other than this little detail, everything's perfect to me, both a great PMV and a great tribute!

Malathrom, would it be feasible for you to put up a download link for this so it can be enjoyed without YouTube's compression? There aren't many instances in which I care about that but this has to be one of them for the sheer quality of the work you've done.

What do you mean "As always"?
Malathrom's PMVs have more work put into them and are different than any other PMVs I and probably anybody else has ever seen before.
This is always interesting- Isn't Luna more powerful? Think about it. -if she wanted to, she could create an endless solar eclipse and block out the sun. -without the moon, Equestria would overheat, or the night would be pitch-black -she has the power to enter ponies dreams, thus knowing thier fears. Celestia cannot do this.
@Fluttershy Would you mind showing me where the show/merchandise stated she controlled the sun? (Also, Celestia too can raise the moon, and no sun = no photosynthesis = plants can't grow = everyone starves)
First of all, where did they ever say that Celestia CANNOT do all of those things you just said? Didn't it ever strike you that perhaps she could actually do all those things but she leaves those tasks for her sister because, like how this PMV talks about it, she wants unity and equality. Second, the moon and the sun aren't any better than each other. The moon may be important, but so is the sun, and in fact if the sun is gone it too would cause extreme damage therefore making it not less worth as the moon.
One last thing. About the solar eclipse. Sure, Celestia can't do anything about it in the season four premiere, but if she could banish Luna and lower the moon, then there's more to the story than just controlling it. Your points don't make sense because who controlled the moon, stars and the sun during those one thousand years of solitude? Celestia. Celestia could stop the solar eclipse if she ever wanted to by banishing Luna to the moon again. There must be a reason why she couldn't lower the moon back then, maybe because "it is [Luna's] duty" like she said.
Or maybe, when the other one is gone, that's the only time the other one can control whatever the missing one controls. When Luna was banished, Celestia gained the right to control the night sky, but when Luna returned there is a chance that she can't anymore. That would mean it's the same case for Luna, implying that Luna is not more powerful or stronger than Celestia.

Whut? But the Mare in the Moon appears when Luna is banished, and right there she was raising the moon with HERSELF in it. I'm not getting mad, I'm just confused... This is before she was banished, and there isn't a Mare in the Moon back then. But after she was released, the figure disappeared from the moon... I don't know who is getting their facts all wrong here... If Nightmare Moon's spirit is trapped there, wait, Nightmare Moon doesn't exist until Luna becomes her, but this is before Luna goes evil, right? O-O This is intense!!!
I can probably answer my own question: This takes place AFTER Nightmare Moon is defeated... Then what you answered would make sense... I just completely over thought that... Sorry! XD

Don't get me wrong, this is a very nice PMV, better than most. But since it's a PMV (Pony Music Video) I would also like some music I can actually enjoy, instead of some happy techno stuff (don't correct me about the music genre, I don't care) So without that, I don't really find PMV's enjoyable.
you used 40 sec of the MLP intro from S1 E1 and technically they can get you for that. just sayin. anything 30 sec and under is fair use, not that YT even cares about fair use.
I don't understand why Princess Celestia is the oldest and darkness was here before light was here Princess Luna should be the oldest I don't understand why celestia is the oldest? (Don't argue with me)
The night is generally a more lonely time, people like myself happen to enjoy such solitude, but for those that love company it's just a dark and frightening time. It makes sense for Celestia to be the eldest, as the sister of Darkness, she'd want to comfort the princess of the night. It makes more sense for the elder sister to play the comforting role.
This would make a perfect alternative opening to MLP, I think.

And, the sun is technically a star, and Luna raises the stars as well, so she would be able to control the sun.

2 likesIt makes sense for Celestia to be the eldest, as the sister of Darkness, she'd want to comfort the princess of the night. It makes more sense for the elder sister to play the comforting role.
