not quite.. 4096 recreated the animations for yosemite. i checked apple's yosemite video.. and it has some differences.. examples are: in apple's version it's 2nd june instead of 17th july and in 4096's version it zooms out when the animation for the messages icon occur, when in apple's version it goes on with every icon on the dock..

Nice! I always wanted to do a couple of videos similar to this but with Windows and KDE. I also like how you showed glimpses of some of the original Mac demos, including the famous "hello" graphic seen in some of the stock photos for the original 128K.
My Grandpa was the main accessories controller (I'm not even really sure cuz he's dead) back when the apple computers were just so merely popular. In that first game you saw, he would sell controllers for that game. He was offered an even higher job yet he had to move to Cupertino where Apple would move to. My parents just had moved and made so many friends, so him caring about his offsprings deferred the offer and was fired. He tried to make money by gambling and in one of those sessions, he, unfortunately, got a heart attack. That was the end of that. I'm sure he would love how much Apple has changed.
0:29 I'd really like to know how this animation was done. Macpaint didn't have any animating capabilities, and it's too nicely done to be freehand (and it's not even in paint mode ;), and the animation follows the brush stroke really nicely.
The brush stroke changes angle, which wasn't possible with MacPaint, and in addition, the animation is being done on a native 512x342 resolution, rather than being done after upscaling.
The second letter "l" moves around a tiny bit while being drawn, and the letter "o" is being drawn from two places at once during one part of the animation, which is telling, although I'm not sure what it tells.
One more thing, the animation is happening at exactly 60 fps (not one repeated/skipped frame), so it's obviously done afterwards somehow. The fastest animation speed on an original mac, even only animating a portion of the screen at a time, was about 15fps, maybe 30 if you were only changing a few bits at a time and had REALLY tight code.

It was part of a deal microsoft did with apple. microsoft were being investigated for anti trust and if apple tanked as a company, which they were days away from doing when steve jobs rejoined, then they'd be effectively a monopoly and that had serious rammifications, so to keep his competition afloat Bill Gates made a big investment in Apple so it could save the company and that Microsoft wasn't broken up as too big by the government. Part of that deal included putting IE on Mac. At that time Netscape had pretty much lost the browser wars, firefox as you know had not caught on, safari hadn't been invented, and chrome was years away.
Sebastian Maciolek Internet Explorer was shipped with all iMacs back in 2003 it was just for something just for their users to have something to be on the Internet but meanwhile they were working on Safari.. Safari came out 3 years later and replaced Internet Explorer with Mac OS X

I have used both Windows and MacOS in my lifetime and they work both as well as each other. Now, Mac might be better in some areas, but same as Windows. My personal preference is Mac, as I have grown up using it, and is more simplistic, but if I want to game or play or use 32-bit applications, I prefer to use Windows.
It works far better currently. Idk, maybe they patched steam or some shit, but now all of my games (from HL1 to Portal 2 in order of graphics) run smoothly and without problems. It used to be buggy as hell.

Well, what I said is what I saw and what my experiences were with my own MacBook and PC, my MacBook which costs the same amount as my PC, got the same results (Tested In: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, Ableton Live Lite, Ableton Live Suite), and if we think about it, a laptop that roughly costs the same amount as a desktop PC, got the same results, so I'm not saying Apple products are gods, but they are pretty impressive, even if we compare the price

Apple had financial issues and the company was VERY CLOSE to bankruptcy but Microsoft offered apple a large sum of money to have their browser default on macOS. Steve let users pick between Safari and internet explorer. Eventually the contract had expired and apple no longer had to keep IE on macOS so IE was removed on the next release of the OS

The Windows version of this had multiple errors. That is my story. Used windows for 5 years (trash) then used Mac for 8 years (happy) now I had to go back to windows. Clean install with brand new PC and new ssd. Installed Office. Word Crashes after I wrote an entire page. Adobe crashes 15x more on windows than on Mac. I will have to make an hackintosh. Otherwise Windows and Adobe will ruin me.

I miss the older generation of macOS I used to have a Macintosh Performa and I used to love that computer and even I was still using it for like games and such but my mom said we had to get rid of it because it was taking up too much space I wish I still had it now I have a MacBook Air which I do like but I do miss some of the things on the older Mac computers both software and hardware

MAC is the only OS that has the simplified GUI and I love it. It's sad that none of my games runs on Mac - I just wish the world was the opposite, I'd love to install Mac.

Why does Launchpad show on OS X Leopard + Snow Leopard? The Launchpad was actually added in Mountain Lion. I have a feeling you really don't pay much attention to animating your videos.

The startup screen at 0:06 wasn't present until System 7.5, a decade after the original Mac; 0:53 Mac OS X Leopard (2007) wallpaper but the Dock is from Mac OS X Lion (2011).
I prefer the Aqua look of Mac OS X 10.2 Jaguar, a slightly refined version of the original. Since then, 10.3 Panther, 10.5 Leopard, 10.7 Lion, and 10.10 Yosemite were all major attempts at modernizing the look.

You can really tell when they got bored of the adobe after effects transitions, moved to simple iMovie/WMM fades, and then finally said "fuck it, we'll just take the Yosemite intro video from WWDC".
For example, I have openSUSE Leap and Windows 10. When normally using my PC, I prefer openSUSE. When doing .exe stuff, I use Windows cuz Wine isn't enough sometimes. Also, Android is a Linux distribution and so LineageOS and Cyanogenmod are.

18 likesMy Grandpa was the main accessories controller (I'm not even really sure cuz he's dead) back when the apple computers were just so merely popular. In that first game you saw, he would sell controllers for that game. He was offered an even higher job yet he had to move to Cupertino where Apple would move to. My parents just had moved and made so many friends, so him caring about his offsprings deferred the offer and was fired. He tried to make money by gambling and in one of those sessions, he, unfortunately, got a heart attack. That was the end of that. I'm sure he would love how much Apple has changed.

30 likesMacpaint didn't have any animating capabilities, and it's too nicely done to be freehand (and it's not even in paint mode ;), and the animation follows the brush stroke really nicely.
The brush stroke changes angle, which wasn't possible with MacPaint, and in addition, the animation is being done on a native 512x342 resolution, rather than being done after upscaling.
The second letter "l" moves around a tiny bit while being drawn, and the letter "o" is being drawn from two places at once during one part of the animation, which is telling, although I'm not sure what it tells.
One more thing, the animation is happening at exactly 60 fps (not one repeated/skipped frame), so it's obviously done afterwards somehow. The fastest animation speed on an original mac, even only animating a portion of the screen at a time, was about 15fps, maybe 30 if you were only changing a few bits at a time and had REALLY tight code.
Yeah, I know. Too much free time. You gotta understand -- this was my adolescence.

Part of that deal included putting IE on Mac. At that time Netscape had pretty much lost the browser wars, firefox as you know had not caught on, safari hadn't been invented, and chrome was years away.

My personal preference is Mac, as I have grown up using it, and is more simplistic, but if I want to game or play or use 32-bit applications, I prefer to use Windows.

MacOS >>>>>>> winblows. I've used windows all my life and currently am but used macOS for one year on a macbook air and I have to say it was a 10x better operating system. Not recommended if you're a gaymer or a 10 year old. Macs are just too overpriced, but the operating system on the other hand is great.

Clean install with brand new PC and new ssd. Installed Office. Word Crashes after I wrote an entire page. Adobe crashes 15x more on windows than on Mac. I will have to make an hackintosh. Otherwise Windows and Adobe will ruin me.

I like openSUSE more. It is really my first Linux distribution, and it resembles Windows very much. Debian is more similiar to Mac OS X.
