Il a ensuite été présenté sur une compilation de chansons inédites autour de well Well5. Il l’a incorporé dans son deuxième EP The Sea & The Rhythm en 2003, avec d’autres chansons auto-produites dans un style similaire à celui de ses débuts. Son deuxième album, Our Endless Numed Days, sorti en 2004, a été entièrement enregistré dans un studio professionnel, avec une amélioration significative de la qualité sonore. Les instruments acoustiques, produits à Chicago par Brian Deck, étaient toujours au centre du projet, mais l’intégration de nouveaux musiciens a conduit à une musique légèrement différente. La même année, il a enregistré « The Trapeze Swinger » pour In Good Company, et a utilisé la couverture de « Such Great Heights » dans une publicité pour M &M’s et dans la bande originale du film Garden State6.
