I learned how to drive on a manual transmission car! I still drive a manual transmission car and I love it honestly. I live in a place with a lot of snow and ice and its very rural so being able to control which gear I'm in at any given time is nice. Also being able to jump start the car if the battery dies is always a good back up to have lol.

learning manual was kinda fun lol i think i've lost touch with it but i kinda want to try again. during my first driving lesson, my driving teacher drove me halfway to the driving school and stopped at a gas station and told me to switch seats with him and i drove to the driving school with absolutely zero experience. fun times fun times.

I am literally so similar when I'm drunk, not only cos I'm so used to feeling spaced out anyway, but also cos I annoy everyone around me by identifying the note of random noises and sounds so halfway through a conversation I'll shout 'THAT'S AN F#' at a beeping microwave

it's worth mentioning that i'm in the uk and currently learning to drive, and after a year of trying manual i switched to automatic cus there are auto driving instructors and it's honestly life changing. i'm autistic and panicky and was struggling with the complexities of manual for a loooong time and switching to auto meant i could actually take in the information and feel more confident on the road. i would recommend tbh, especially seeing as manual drive isn't really gonna be a thing of the future. it's a skill that can be useful but if u just wanna get a license to drive from A to B i would rly recommend going the route (haha) that's easiest and makes most sense for you, and if that is auto, then go for it!

I HAD MY GALLBLADDER REMOVED LAST YEAR and I was super spooked but it was the best decision I have ever made.

I’m American, and had one hell of a time learning manual. I killed a brand new car battery from stalling out so many times. A HUGE thing that helped me, was finding a hill that isn’t busy, and practicing there before getting on real streets. I live in Colorado springs so my local grocery store had the perfect one behind the store. You wanna mess with the trade off of letting off the clutch and giving it gas, and eventually finding/feeling the equilibrium between he accelerator and the clutch. You wanna get to the point where you can roll back and forth without touching the brakes. Rolling back with the mostly clutch, stopping when you find the equilibrium, and then gently rolling back up the hill when it’s mostly gas. Once you can feel that it’ll be way easier to feel when you need to shift, and you’ll also find yourself doing it at red lights that happen to be on hills. Which is your me is all the time. 🤫 I hope that helps!
