One of my favorite episodes in this season, the team work and the fight scenes were great. I think this episode fleshed out the villains a bit more, with Mai's indifference at times, Ty lee's fighting and willingness to follow Azula's orders. And even Azula as well, we saw once again that she is a remarkable fighter and her cruelty (she waited for Aang to recover so she can hurt him while he is conscious instead of finishing him off while he wasn't) knows no bounds, not that its surprising or anything at this point.
Now its time to focus on one of, if not my favorite arc in the series.
I'm not sure on Azula's motivation there - if she finishes him off while not in the avatar state, then another avatar would just be born somewhere else. Sure it would mean the Fire nation would likely win their war, but another avatar would come and fight them later on. The only way to permanently keep the avatar from interfering with their plans would be to either kill Aang while in the avatar state, or to capture and imprison him someplace he can't ever escape.
To be honest, I sorta expected the Earth benders to collapse the ground underneath the drill and make it drill straight down. But overall, a great episode. Great fun, great teamwork, and crazy fire nation women.
And we immediately thought there are sinister plans done mainly by the Fire Nation alone. Looks like there are devious intentions even within the Earth Kingdom.

I'm just not sure whether Azula knows it...

0 likesThat whole drill thing is intense. The leaders of these countries really do seem incompetent.
