hmmmm...... if there is an error, you must have a cd or flash with windows 10 installed on it because there is the error and you can't repair your pc, so you must insert the flash or cd and the destroyed pc will automatically close the error and your OS is restored. And on the flash, you can choose the Operating System (OS)
@@techwin2 My main laptop that can't boot form windows xp install media at all either, but installing windows xp integral edition (normal versions didn't detect the hard drive) using an e2b drive worked for me, and I am using a multiboot setup on it with Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 10 1909 to this day. I used driverpack online for xp, and microsoft update for the rest, but how you get your drivers is up to you. If you use e2b to install integral edition, don't press F6 at setup when doing step 1, and after you do both step 1, and step 2 after it, once it says that it could not find the runonce program, unplug the usb, put the integral edition iso itself on the usb using rufus, plug the usb back in, and then tell it to retry the auto search.
@@FrezzyYT I also got a laptop from 2015 laying around, and I wanted to install XP on it but it cannot boot into the installer, I guess it really just doesn't support it. Anyways, the laptop only has drivers for Windows 10, 8.1, and 7. I got it to run Vista but no drivers sadly. The laptop did come with Windows 10 tho.

Now use this as your main computer for a month (install VMware, Discord and any other programs you use on a daily basis, record videos there, edit/upload videos from there, do your everyday activities from there etc). Also, if you want to use a Windows XP machine you have to actually reboot your machine to the Windows XP installation (unless you want to do a malware testing video or use a diffrent architecture of Windows XP or a VMware bug but other than that you have to reboot your machine) so that the Windows XP installation actually has a use. Also you should try to use Windows XP as much as you can
Windows XP is particularly prone to malware and ransomware attacks, though. I wouldn't actually save any files if the machine was connected to the internet. So many attack vectors that are patched out in windows 10 but easy pickings for malware
Yesterday I discovered the MS Edge remover on your website, and wow that tool is effective. I could not find A SINGLE trace of edge after a reboot except for the remover itself.
Also, Windows XP does not have the files required to even start UEFI in CSM mode, and that Windows XP x64 cannot even boot from GPT disks, so importing EFI files will not work. Nobody has ever developed a patch for it, and it's unlikely anyone will, so you're stuck with Vista or 7.

You can run 7 and Vista on UEFI. You just need a lot of tweaking to get there. I ran Windows 7 on UEFI Class 3 without CSM so that I could get rid of Windows 10. If you want to, you have to do some DISM wizardry to a Windows 7 / Vista image, then delete the VGA driver, do some complex regedit stuff, and you are done. You CANNOT use the Vista bootscreen. On Windows Vista, no GUI boot HAS to be enabled, and on Windows 7, you cannot change the bootscreen to Vista.
I know its not really related to the video but is there a way to get the command prompt from installation disc to work in all the Windows? the one i got installs windows perfectly fine but it only works as a command prompt deletion thing on windows XP, on anything else it opens command prompt but all the files of the C: drive are in the D: drive for some reason and deleting them from the D: drive doesnt remove them when you boot into the actual windows.
i remember doing the same with my old acer laptop (way older and weaker than this one) back in 2018 but with windows 8.1 instead of 10, i used xp for a lot of things such as playing old games and they worked great! edit: why using the metro boot menu? i remember it took longer to boot with that than the old original windows 7 style boot menu

You know, I just can't explain why I love old Windows versions. They have fine design, nice look at all, and somehow usable features. Vista seems to be buggy, but it is very beautiful
Just switch the Sata ports to IDE compatibility mode in the BIOS, works fine with XP and I've never noticed a real speed difference. basically makes the OS see it as an IDE interface, but it still runs at around sata speeds (at least in my experience). I have seen XP work out of the box with regular AHCI as well but then again my iso has SP3 slipstreamed in.
My tip is to use an older version of the driver booster that is still compatible with Windows XP. The company behind Driver Booster has the largest driver database. I used it in Windows XP Mode in Windows 7 it worked great
You say this like it's some magical impossibility, xp is old but it was in support for a long time, finding a pc with hardware that can run xp while still being powerful enough for modern windows is very easy
I think that a Core i7-4720HQ+ max amount of RAM that XP 64 supports+ large SSD+ good GPU that’s still supported on XP = ultimate XP machine. I think that one of Dell’s older Precision series laptops would work well, specifically one with a Core i7-4720HQ.
If you can't install most drivers for the machine under XP, can you really say it's compatible with the OS? Just because it boots? It was cool to see the dual-boot work, though, but other than that, what's the advantage of having XP in that state over running it on a VM?

Managed to install xp on optiplex 3010 but with a small problem. If i boot xp the normal way it will display the "Windows could not start because of a computer disk hardware" message which is nonsense so to evade that problem i have to boot from the xp installation media and select the "multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINDOWS="2nd, GUI mode setup, continue setup + 1st start of Windows" /fastdetect" everytime i want to boot from xp

Did you install Windows 10 on old laptop? As far as I know, Windows XP doesn't support UEFI at all, you might have issues with SATA drivers and other stuff.
Install whatever os you can run, disconnect the drive and pop in another drive, install another os then connect both drives and hit F8 and choose os, simple!

My laptop (from 2013/14 and still can run minecraft) is Acer too, and it just got 8GB ram. Acer is very strong, i can get 17FPS sometimes. But i broke its screen so i need to use a monitor to see what's in ths screen and it is pretty hard, especially in my online classes.
Use something older for the best results. like an old "Windows Vista Capable" machine they have both XP and Vista drivers that are more stable and the Vista ones are the same as Windows 10 because they are both WDDM.

There is a way, however it’s recommended to install XP first, and then 8. But there is a way to install XP second. Is your processor Haswell or earlier? Do you have any SATA drivers, or is it an IDE drive. If you are installing on a SATA drive, you need to integrate AHCI drivers so the XP setup will recognize them. You also need CSM enabled. This is how you would install XP second after 8: 1. Shrink your Windows 8 partition by at least 1.5GB (I’d recommend 100-200GB depending on how big your hard drive is) 2. Install XP on that partition. You don’t need to inject drivers, but if you have a SATA drive, you do need to do so, or else setup will fail with 0x07B, or you can change the hard drive mode to IDE/ATA. Finish setup like normal. 3. After installing XP, you will not be able to boot into Windows 8. This is because the boot sector has been changed from BCD to NTLDR. 4. To be able to boot back into Windows 8, you need to restore the BCD bootloader. There are a few ways you could do this, either by installing EasyBCD, partially installing Vista/7/8.0 on your XP partition, with WinPE, or using BOOTICE. I’m going to write how to restore the bootloader with WinPE and partially installing Vista/7/8, but you can try the other methods. 5. How to restore via WinPE: 1. Boot into WinPE 2. Type in, “bootsect /nt60 ALL /force mbr” 3. Then type in “bootsect /nt52 (Windows XP Partition) /force 6. How to restore via Vista/7/8 installer 1. Install Vista/7/8 on your XP partition. Do not choose upgrade, as we are only trying to get the bootloader back. 2. When it reboots into the boot menu, hit the down arrow key. Do NOT boot into Windows Setup, or XP will be upgraded to Vista/7/8 without keeping any data. You should see the options , “Earlier Version of Windows” (that’s your XP partition), and “Windows 8”. If you do not see “Windows 8”, run Startup Repair, then you can remove the Windows setup files ($WINDOWS.BT), and remove the “Windows Setup” entry with EasyBCD.
You should now have a usable dual boot of XP and 8. Hope this helped.

Mmm, I do have a Haswell lappy around, and some spare m.2 drives that are a measly 32 gb each, really tiny for a modern OS, but on watching this, I wonder if I could dual boot across different drives? Of course XP would be hosted by the m.2 thingy, and WIN 10 would be on the main regular SATA drive. Any ideas?

I succeeded installing xp (original edition) on my 2017 pc, was kinda lucky that pentium g4560 is apparently not a problem for xp, took me milion years trying to find the right drivers to put into the installation, but it worked! Was super unusable though, no drivers and even USB didn't work, had to use my PS/2 mouse but then my motherboard has just one slot for keyboard/mouse so I couldn't use both, was a fun experience though.

It so weird...when i got my hdd about 10 years ago i needed windows xp so i installed it...later on i upgraded to win 7 and kept xp as well so i had both...long story short i changed my win 7 with a 10 a few months ago and guess what.... since that old win xp was on another partition when i installed win 10 it removed win7 and installed 10 but kept the old xp and i ended up with this exact same thing... didn't know its kinda hard to get that working

9:00 => Technically you could avoid installing the Intel Switchable graphic driver if you changed the mode in the BIOS from Switchable to Discreet which will cut the Intel in favor of the Nvidia. THat way you could basically install the latest version of the Nvidia Driver

even easier: clone working partitions, put bootice.exe in all partitions and just change the activeZprimariy MBR before exiting (with SSDs windows X version whathever, load in less than 10 seconds with ANY <2Ghz machine)

metro bootloader is bad if you are going to boot into windows xp since it loads windows 10 and then reboots if you choose windows XP, the legacy one is better since it doesn't load windows 10 before the selection screen. do that if you are chad enough to dualboot windows xp and windows 10
I know two more methods first take all files expect the setup .exe file to windows 10 folder and take a exe merger and merge windows 10 and Xp setup.exe files and convert to iso and using rufus install it .second extract windows 10 and windows Xp iso and convert them both to single iso and again using rufus install it
You can't install windows xp on windows 10! this is the biggest mistake because the windows 10 proccesor is not compatible with Windows xp because the proccesor for windows 10 has 64 herts but the proccesor from win xp has 16 or 32 herts! so if you do it, your computer can burn
1: Install windows 7 sp1 on an NTFS partition. It doesn't matter from where. I used usb. 2: Then make another partition for windows 10. Format it as NTFS and run the setup from windows 7. 3: When asked if you want to upgrade or install clean choose a new installation and select the windows 10 partition you made and follow the instructions on the screen. 4: When your computer restarts always choose windows 10 setup on the boot screen 5: When windows 10 installs restart and you should be done

Oh no. I'd have to use windows file manager? My laptop takes 1 minute turn on, then 2 minutes to load icons and a few more to load that file manager. Linux mint needs only like 2 for all that. Anyway, thanks AMD Athlon 64 (ironically)
lucky me i got a computer withivy bridge cpu and amd hd7850 that can run anything from xp (didnt test 2000 yet) to windows 10 (and 11 if i bypass tpm check) :)

most modern hardwares don't support Windows (the PC I am typing this on doesnt even support windows 7!), so only older PC's will work, luckily I have an older PC which I used to dualboot, also transferring hard drives can be hard for beginners (enderman is no beginner tho).

This is not the best option. The best and fastest bootup is Windows Vista/7 Bootloader. (Without this OS ofc) When you use W10 Bootloader and select XP your PC is rebooting - I'm sure. And that's not necessary..
I don't know how to do it easily but you can Install XP > 10 > 7, on 7 run EasyBCD > configure it > apply new bootloader > now you can uninstall W7 You can install all OS by this way, look at my old Bootloader from 2018 https://abload.de/img/84456773_176928920248t9knv.jpg You can add ISO images too :D

I remember doing this crap to family desktop way back in 2016, installations are taking too long that it annoyed me, never tried doing it to my current skylake laptop tho since I don't use any programs that can only run on windows xp, but might wanna do this soon since w10 seems to be getting heavier

Didn't watch the video. Just my opinion but written texts as explanations, way too loud + generic electronic music & 16 minutes playtime, huuuge turn off for me! Make it shorter, take the music out and record a voice over. If I want text, I'll look up an article that explains this to me - way easier to navigate.
just clone the partitions you need, use bootice and with easy bcd configure the order. TADAAaaaa.... (well it sounds very easy, you need 2 minutes for it and 3 minutes to clone everything on SSDs, but yes, i know, i needed MONTHS to figure out how the best configuration works. I can start win95, xp and 10 in the same old thinkpad T61 and T400)

The computer is an HP inspiron 15 7000 series 2 in 1 and I put a new ssd in it that has 1tb of space and with 10, 11, and 7 on it, it still has 600 something and I'll give 8.1 100, Vista 75 and 8 50 and anything below Windows Vista only takes up not even 15 gb

this is actually possible to do and even pretty easy on a modern pc. you just need a drive with mbr (gpt only works on the x64 version of winxp which is crap), an xp iso and acpi, ahci/sata and usb 3.0 patches + a motherboard that supports enabling csm in the bios. i was able to get working audio drivers and my network adapter has drivers for xp too, only other driver that was missing was the gpu driver but that's because i have a rx 6500 xt. xp officially supports gtx 9xx cards and there are modded drivers for gtx 10xx cards too. mypal is the best browser for winxp although you can get modern browsers (such as chrome 118) running with onecoreapi though there is a risk of installing it - for me it caused xp to not boot except for in safe mode

I triple booted Windows XP / 7/10 on a desktop PC and a laptop PC
Enderman I my laptop is an Acer Aspire E1-522 and does not support Windows XP, But I managed to install Windows XP (IDE MODE only) thanks to "multiboot" usb. Unfortunately in AHCI MODE when I load Windows XP at startup I get the bsod 0x7b. But all in all it works fine, I installed all the drivers thanks to a software called "DriverPack" freeware.

But the problem is, the drivers didn't work as i expected because my lap was designed for windows 10 and not for windows 7, is there a way to inject the drivers aswell?. So? I've installed Windows 98SE, 2000, XP, Vista, and 10 all on the same 40 GB drive, on an HP Pavilion ZV6100. Drivers are tricky to find for Windows 98SE and 10, but I was able to get 3D acceleration and sound in all OSes, though I haven't been able to find the LAN nor WLAN drivers for 98SE and I had to hack the graphics driver's ini file to get the correct resolution in Windows 98SE. It seems you had better luck finding XP drivers for this modern laptop.
My cousin had one of those old Netbooks that for whatever stupid reason came with Windows 7 instead of XP and ran like complete garbage. I installed XP on it to make it actually usable. I wonder if it could run Windows 10 so I could try this myself.

I just found out you can get fully customised win xp with direct 12 support and apparently can get all the drivers you need for upto date systems :o. Xp was the best operating system ever made but had its limitations, it's like 20 years old lol, very interested to try these custom versions 😍. If you drop me your email I'll see what I can do!

0 likes@@techwin2 My main laptop that can't boot form windows xp install media at all either, but installing windows xp integral edition (normal versions didn't detect the hard drive) using an e2b drive worked for me, and I am using a multiboot setup on it with Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 10 1909 to this day. I used driverpack online for xp, and microsoft update for the rest, but how you get your drivers is up to you. If you use e2b to install integral edition, don't press F6 at setup when doing step 1, and after you do both step 1, and step 2 after it, once it says that it could not find the runonce program, unplug the usb, put the integral edition iso itself on the usb using rufus, plug the usb back in, and then tell it to retry the auto search.

0 likesNow use this as your main computer for a month (install VMware, Discord and any other programs you use on a daily basis, record videos there, edit/upload videos from there, do your everyday activities from there etc). Also, if you want to use a Windows XP machine you have to actually reboot your machine to the Windows XP installation (unless you want to do a malware testing video or use a diffrent architecture of Windows XP or a VMware bug but other than that you have to reboot your machine) so that the Windows XP installation actually has a use. Also you should try to use Windows XP as much as you can

0 likesAlso, Windows XP does not have the files required to even start UEFI in CSM mode, and that Windows XP x64 cannot even boot from GPT disks, so importing EFI files will not work. Nobody has ever developed a patch for it, and it's unlikely anyone will, so you're stuck with Vista or 7.

1 likeYou can run 7 and Vista on UEFI. You just need a lot of tweaking to get there. I ran Windows 7 on UEFI Class 3 without CSM so that I could get rid of Windows 10. If you want to, you have to do some DISM wizardry to a Windows 7 / Vista image, then delete the VGA driver, do some complex regedit stuff, and you are done. You CANNOT use the Vista bootscreen. On Windows Vista, no GUI boot HAS to be enabled, and on Windows 7, you cannot change the bootscreen to Vista.

6 likesI know its not really related to the video but is there a way to get the command prompt from installation disc to work in all the Windows? the one i got installs windows perfectly fine but it only works as a command prompt deletion thing on windows XP, on anything else it opens command prompt but all the files of the C: drive are in the D: drive for some reason and deleting them from the D: drive doesnt remove them when you boot into the actual windows.

3 likesJust switch the Sata ports to IDE compatibility mode in the BIOS, works fine with XP and I've never noticed a real speed difference. basically makes the OS see it as an IDE interface, but it still runs at around sata speeds (at least in my experience). I have seen XP work out of the box with regular AHCI as well but then again my iso has SP3 slipstreamed in.

2 likesMy tip is to use an older version of the driver booster that is still compatible with Windows XP. The company behind Driver Booster has the largest driver database. I used it in Windows XP Mode in Windows 7 it worked great

There is a way, however it’s recommended to install XP first, and then 8. But there is a way to install XP second. Is your processor Haswell or earlier? Do you have any SATA drivers, or is it an IDE drive. If you are installing on a SATA drive, you need to integrate AHCI drivers so the XP setup will recognize them. You also need CSM enabled. This is how you would install XP second after 8:
0 likes1. Shrink your Windows 8 partition by at least 1.5GB (I’d recommend 100-200GB depending on how big your hard drive is)
2. Install XP on that partition. You don’t need to inject drivers, but if you have a SATA drive, you do need to do so, or else setup will fail with 0x07B, or you can change the hard drive mode to IDE/ATA. Finish setup like normal.
3. After installing XP, you will not be able to boot into Windows 8. This is because the boot sector has been changed from BCD to NTLDR.
4. To be able to boot back into Windows 8, you need to restore the BCD bootloader. There are a few ways you could do this, either by installing EasyBCD, partially installing Vista/7/8.0 on your XP partition, with WinPE, or using BOOTICE. I’m going to write how to
restore the bootloader with WinPE and partially installing Vista/7/8, but you can try the other methods.
5. How to restore via WinPE:
1. Boot into WinPE
2. Type in, “bootsect /nt60 ALL /force mbr”
3. Then type in “bootsect /nt52 (Windows XP Partition) /force
6. How to restore via Vista/7/8 installer
1. Install Vista/7/8 on your XP partition. Do not choose upgrade, as we are only trying to get the bootloader back.
2. When it reboots into the boot menu, hit the down arrow key. Do NOT boot into Windows Setup, or XP will be upgraded to Vista/7/8 without keeping any data. You should see the options , “Earlier Version of Windows” (that’s your XP partition), and “Windows 8”. If you do not see “Windows 8”, run Startup Repair, then you can remove the Windows setup files ($WINDOWS.BT), and remove the “Windows Setup” entry with EasyBCD.
You should now have a usable dual boot of XP and 8. Hope this helped.

0 likesI succeeded installing xp (original edition) on my 2017 pc, was kinda lucky that pentium g4560 is apparently not a problem for xp, took me milion years trying to find the right drivers to put into the installation, but it worked! Was super unusable though, no drivers and even USB didn't work, had to use my PS/2 mouse but then my motherboard has just one slot for keyboard/mouse so I couldn't use both, was a fun experience though.

1: Install windows 7 sp1 on an NTFS partition. It doesn't matter from where. I used usb.
1 like2: Then make another partition for windows 10. Format it as NTFS and run the setup from windows 7.
3: When asked if you want to upgrade or install clean choose a new installation and select the windows 10 partition you made and follow the instructions on the screen.
4: When your computer restarts always choose windows 10 setup on the boot screen
5: When windows 10 installs restart and you should be done
!!!! DONT INSTALL WINDOWS 10 ON THE WINDOWS 7 PARTITION OR IT WILL DELETE EVERYTHING

most modern hardwares don't support Windows (the PC I am typing this on doesnt even support windows 7!), so only older PC's will work, luckily I have an older PC which I used to dualboot, also transferring hard drives can be hard for beginners (enderman is no beginner tho).

When you use W10 Bootloader and select XP your PC is rebooting - I'm sure. And that's not necessary..
I don't know how to do it easily but you can Install XP > 10 > 7, on 7 run EasyBCD > configure it > apply new bootloader > now you can uninstall W7
You can install all OS by this way, look at my old Bootloader from 2018

The computer is an HP inspiron 15 7000 series 2 in 1 and I put a new ssd in it that has 1tb of space and with 10, 11, and 7 on it, it still has 600 something and I'll give 8.1 100, Vista 75 and 8 50 and anything below Windows Vista only takes up not even 15 gb

0 likesthis is actually possible to do and even pretty easy on a modern pc. you just need a drive with mbr (gpt only works on the x64 version of winxp which is crap), an xp iso and acpi, ahci/sata and usb 3.0 patches + a motherboard that supports enabling csm in the bios. i was able to get working audio drivers and my network adapter has drivers for xp too, only other driver that was missing was the gpu driver but that's because i have a rx 6500 xt. xp officially supports gtx 9xx cards and there are modded drivers for gtx 10xx cards too. mypal is the best browser for winxp although you can get modern browsers (such as chrome 118) running with onecoreapi though there is a risk of installing it - for me it caused xp to not boot except for in safe mode

But all in all it works fine, I installed all the drivers thanks to a software called "DriverPack" freeware.

Drivers are tricky to find for Windows 98SE and 10, but I was able to get 3D acceleration and sound in all OSes, though I haven't been able to find the LAN nor WLAN drivers for 98SE and I had to hack the graphics driver's ini file to get the correct resolution in Windows 98SE. It seems you had better luck finding XP drivers for this modern laptop.

I just found out you can get fully customised win xp with direct 12 support and apparently can get all the drivers you need for upto date systems :o. Xp was the best operating system ever made but had its limitations, it's like 20 years old lol, very interested to try these custom versions 😍. If you drop me your email I'll see what I can do!
