This is one of the best channels that there is in YouTube. Not only does it provide technical knowledge, it also provides some entertainment. I can`t believe YouTube is just turning their back because their either don`t care cuz it might be "just another channel" and/or because the management does not like him or his origin and thus want to remove him from the platform.

it’s extremely depressing how this platform went downhill and continues to keep doing so. there REALLY needs to be a more mainstream alternative to this site even if it doesnt overtake YT

I've been in this situation before. The video reviewers at YouTube largely use your title/thumbnail to determine whether a video is malicious, this is what has probably caught you out. In my experience, you need to basically beg YouTube creator support to escalate the issue to their internal security team, I've done this and managed to get pretty much every single strike removed. You need to be persistent, not take no for an answer, and you'll probably win this. I've heard some people also have luck with YouTube support on twitter. Good luck! It's a pain you have to deal with this, but be persistent and you will win this.

You are one of my first favorite tech YouTubers. It's unfortunate how "well-thought-out" automated systems issue fake strikes really good channels for no reason. I hope you don't get terminated!

I have two emails. Both claiming sex and-or nudity is linked in my video descriptions. One is just my reddit user landing page which has nothing but my replies on it and none currently to NSFW places. The other was an imgur link to a waifu wallpaper from a 2016 video I linked. She is sexy, not nude! I don't know what is going on but the AI is going nuts.

I first found you 3 years ago and watched your videos while I was at home, and that's why I know a lot about malware. I feel very sad about this situation and really hope your great channel will stay on YouTube to help others.

This reminds me when an channel of mine got 7 strikes in one day for "spam" when i uploaded 1 video and gave up on that channel, 5 month later, they decided to false delete my channel, however they did un delete the channel and videos the same night after appealing 2 times.

This system is really broken. Some years ago I randomly uploaded a video showing the text 1234 and some non copyrighted music. Some days later I get a community guidelines strike saying that I was showing self harm and putting others in danger... I really hope you can recover from this situation. You were the one who made me have interest in technology and I still watch your videos and they're always fantastic. Remember that if you do get terminated, you won't be forgotten.

YouTube is just going downhill for longer than I can remember. Any new "features" are nothing short of downgrades and make everything worse for everyone. Also - a thing you could do is to start a shitstorm on twitter, that's sadly one of the only ways to get a ton of attention that simply pressures YouTube into doing something. Other than that - I hope you'll make it through! I've been a supporter since 2021 and it's really upsetting that this journey might ultimately end due to YouTube being literally an ignorant jerk.

At this rate, I feel like Youtube might one day die simply due to losing all it's creators due to Youtube doing stuff like this. This is the 3rd time I've seen a channel get unfairly punished out of nowhere, and 2nd time I've seen a channel close to getting unfairly terminated. I know this is likely happening to a lot of Youtubers, most of which likely just don't have enough viewers to fight back.

As a similar content creator I certainly recognize this. YouTube needs to improve their "human reviewers". I got a video of a malware review taken down for showing "how to hack remote devices", and obviously my review got rejected 30 seconds after I submitted it. This video has yet not gotten reinstated, and they refuse to explain in detail what part of the policy that I violated. It's sad to see how these more specific, and ofter smaller creators are targeted like this. A change is needed.

They did practically the same to me. For no reason at all they just cut the monetization one day. When you ask the reasons, they just respond with predetermined stuff and generalisms, never to the point, while their reason isn't valid. We can prove that we are in the guidelines and do not violate any terms, but nothing you can actually do since it's practically a dictatorship.

Honestly, you're the reason I got into cybersecurity and software engineering as a whole. I appreciate your content and it has been very interesting and informative. It is so sad that most tech YTubers get falsely banned by Youtube, a latin malware Youtuber called Victor Montoya was terminated falsely by YT due to the same false policies of "Harmful and dangerous content" where he just reviewed malware sites like false YT Video downloaders which are a nest of malwar, and he said the same thing, while a video of dancing (Almost n4k3d g1rls) with millions of views are simply ignored by YT

yt doesn't care if you spam their built-in systems to try to get strikes removed, but they usually do start to pay attention if you spam them on twitter especially if you do it publicly. worth a shot if you haven't already

I think this is a result of the new horrible CEO. As much backlash as Susan got she didn't keep trying to cut BS like this. The new CEO just seems like he wants to desperatly cut channels that don't make enough growth/revenue or don't meet the genre that most people enjoy. They've done this to multiple creators now and it's getting really stupid.

If the media sharing platforms were to be replaced with archives, no content creators would have to jump through hoops of headaches.

I think a big reason why these things happen is because YouTube, Instagram and other websites are using poorly trained or designed AI to identify the content they don't like. It happens to me all the time when I post stuff in Instagram in Spanish. Sometimes it flags my comments as offensive simply because there was a match in a word but it is unable to interpret the meaning or the context of it. So people end up censoring themselves using cheap tricks as asterisks or l33t speak so that they aren't flagged. But it is the software the one that should be fixed!

This may be a long shot, but go to the press, specifically tech related ones to start off with, and hopefully it will pick up some traction. YouTube will hate that bad PR and may help you. Hope you can sort out your situation!

i hope your channel doesn't get terminated, i've been watching since late 2018 or early 2019 iirc, and your channel was actually the 1st english-speaking channel i ever watched and helped me learn english.
heck, i still remember the old "ender's show" intro from back in the day

and here i am, 4 years later, fully bilingual.
Your channel is probably the thing i associate the most with this time of my life, i remember coming back from school, going on the family computer (on which i had broken metro apps by trying to install a Windows XP Skin, oops) and watching your videos.

So thanks for the great content for the past 4 years. (also i should clarify the reason your channel helped me learn english was probably because at the time it was just subtitles on top of footage, which was easier for my brain to understand than someone speaking)

Same thing is happening to me. 2 of my videos, one being 2 years ago got striked for "Hate Speech" out of nowhere. No context given, appeals were instantly rejected, and I was ghosted on Twitter when trying to get more detail. I low-key want to just quit all-together.

Youtube once flagged one of my vids copyright-abusive because it contained an audio track the original owner uploaded and explicitly stated in the description, that it is okay to use it on Youtube and only Youtube. It did not cause no harm but still makes me question the ability of this service fairly rating whether something is correct or not...

it makes me really sad seeing YouTube kill such ambitious channels doing stuff for the sake of education and fun, all of that while still having actual garbage videos laying around without doing anything about them.

I am also a Youtuber like you.A year earlier, I uploaded a tutorial how to have GameCube Menu BIOS in an emulator called Dolphin. Just one month ago, YouTube took it down for no reason. They even said my Youtube video was violated the Community Guidelines while other videos by other Youtubers was still floating around with the SAME thing. You know what's funny about all this is that Google's support, in general, is bad. Trying to get help with a client's Google Workspace issue with Google's support is like pulling teeth so it's no surprised to see YouTube's support being just as bad. Hope you get everything worked out though.

This is why I stopped running a channel of mine back in 2018. YT seems to want to cut off the hand that feeds it. YT wouldn't exist without it's creators, but YT seems hellbent on hurting creators as much as possible all the while ramming ads down our collective throats at every opportunity. I feel an average YT video contains more ads than a cable TV subscription show of equal length.

This oppression towards knowledge, especially such rare knowledge (that is, knowledge about the inner workings of Windows) should be rebuked. Anyways, I have a suggestion to Enderman to have a channel in Bilibili, which is an alternative of YouTube in China to gain Chinese viewers as I believe there are a lot of hobbyists there which needs Andrew's knowledge.

Usually when YouTube channels get terminated your brand accounts (e.g extra channels created via YouTube UI) get terminated as well

I got a Community Guidelines strike for a video I made on "How to Download a YouTube Video" in 2020.

YouTube is just so damn lazy, I have a much smaller channel (I think 7K subscribers) and still have had to deal with much of the same crap. Stop auto-moderating stuff if you’re not willing to have humans put forth actual effort to affirm your decisions!

So that's why I couldn't find the video dunking on Windows 11. I wanted to share it with my friends to prove a point on how bad win11 really is but it was nowhere to be found. I searched on youtube and your channel specifically but nothing. The fact that they are striking you for using footage of your own video is absurd.

Yep. Educating in Youtube comes with community strikes that is harmful which is not true. This is due to mass report by sometimes fake account and I don't trust some algorithm in Youtube anymore. That's why I have all back ups in my hard drives if needed too and odysee and rumble. And addition to this I don't have any income from this educational videos based on published book (textbook, workbook, essays, research and so on). My videos are mainly for my students to have some copy and easily to search if needed after years after they graduate.

Man I literally just found your channel and thanked the gods above that such a great channel exists with such informative content and entertaining personality. You're great at what you do and hilarious and I enjoy your videos thoroughly. Like you said, Youtube seems to have no qualms when it comes to absolutely destroying a creator's channel if they misinterpret something or dont understand what they're doing but at the same time they let extremely atrocious things to prosper and plague their website that they seem to care oh so much about. The fact that you have had to go through so much just to protect your own channel and all this while also focusing on putting out good content and growing your incredibly educative channel shows what amazing character you have and we absolutely need more people like you on here. Though I personally can't help you in anyway other than to also jump on the bandwagon and diss YouTube for their smooth brainness, I would however like to convey my biggest props to you for what you do and who you are. A lot of small and big Youtubers are complaining about issues regarding this platform. At the beginning it was a fun platform, but now it's attacking every content creator as a mega corporation that has become. If this continues, in a few years it will be come a dying platform.

@Enderman: To my own oppinon just showing reveiw of malicious malware and how to remove them is not considered repulsive and violant content. But the problem is my opinion does not matter because other people might report this like that out of fear that malicious hacker are seeing your video and working on a more malicious malware that cannot be remove by your method, and that is indirect because it is just base on their own fear. Harmfull and repulsive have to be dirrect reporting, not indirect reporting because of fear from someone that as paranoia.

Worst things about Youtube: (my opinion)
1. No comments showing. A possible reason is Restricted Mode is on. The other is you are not old enough.
But here are the bad things about this:
a. You need to tell someone about a bug in a video game (probably the most important)
b. You think you are responsible enough to at least see comments, maybe not reply or comment on them
2. No description showing. The only solution I have found right now is use a different browser (as long as it doesnt say "open description") If this says "open description" use a different account (hey I said this in Really Grass Cutting Incremental episode 1)
Here are the bad things though...
a. You need to view links. Though you can be strategic and look at the webpage they are showing...
3. Community tab not showing. A possible solution is Restricted Mode is on. The other is your channel is set to "made for kids" However, people under 13 still cant view it though... no possible solution though

a. You want to be social. I think Youtube thinks that kids shouldnt be social though. THIS IS WRONG.
b. You want to vote on polls. Just if you want to see what other people voted though...

4. If you have never heard about this, this might be important. You can only scroll through 200 videos at a time in playlists. No possible fix, which is unfortunate.

5. (final one) Comment reply limit. You can get more than 500 replies on a comment, however this is the only way to do it. You have to be on the page, without refreshing, before it hits 500. Or you can do this:

Not gonna lie, Enderman was the first Youtuber that i followed, btw i know how moderators are, im an Wall Moderator from a Game in Roblox, so Youtuber became a bit like Roblox now. Banning, Banning and Banning Players for no reason and it seems like Youtube is actually doing the same thing, Moderators just do Favorism. As i am the only one that does it properly my Job on Roblox.
Youtube Moderations, Policy and etc... Teams better watch their Hearts!!! Imagine they do the SAME PUNISHMENT WITH THEIR BELOVED KIDS. WHAT WILL KIDS HAVE AS MEMORIES?!?!?! DEPRESSION!!! JUST PURE DEPRESSION!!!!!
And i got a lot of Bans mostly just because i am French. Roblox became Racist against French, Ukrainians and Russians in most cases
So hope that they learned their lessons.

it's a problematic technicality... making keygens and linking to virii etc. on the surface needs to be removed from the platform, but upon closer inspection of each video/situation, one would realise there is actually no problem with the content you are creating, as the products involved are abandonware, and the virii site is a research repository with protections to make it difficult for someone to do something stupid accidentally.

if i understand correctly, youtube systems/staff see your video title, which is easily mistaken for content that should actually be removed, and flag it. they spend about 0 seconds on the job.

i think actually the easiest "solution" for you is to not include certain keywords in the video titles. like just be very vague, and don't include the obvious keywords. yeah i know that will probably hurt your visibility, but what's constant incorrect strikes, with an uphill battle to approve each video do for your visibility in comparison?


alternatively or additionally you could try explaining/disclaiming everything upfront and in the description, so someone who might have manually flagged you might instead understand without having to watch the whole video?

i don't think they mind that you're russian bro. i think they just aren't all capable of understanding what you're doing. it's pretty hard to judge your content when they potentially have no idea about the topic at all lol and what can they do? employ technically proficient people for basic moderation jobs? gotta temper our expectations here i think lol

the google flagging your site thing i wonder, do other repositories have the same issue? it could just be that the site does contain the dangerfiles, therefore it must be flagged so noobs don't go there and blame google?

It sounds to me like YT doesn't care to acknowledge the existence of abandonware... which is WRONG by the way. It sets a very nasty precedent for us retro enthusiasts. Has a US court ever delivered a decision in the positive that specifically addresses abandonware being no-longer protected? If so, it would be a helpful thing for him to cite when contesting these strikes.

I have been watching your videos since 2018. A few years ago I saw an "anti hacking" rule get added to the community guidelines and worried about this happening to anyone. Reading it convinced me that YouTube doesn't know nor cares about what white hat hacking is and why it's important. It also is funny how some people get away with blatantly breaking the guidelines and not getting punished. I hope that your situation gets resolved by someone outside of that team.

I can't say I'm surprised as I've been watching a lot of great creators suffer the same unfair treatment by YT moderators. I am surprised though at how we can be so dependent on this platform after so many years of this shit. There are so many brilliant programmers out there and I believe we could rid ourselves of this corrupt and biased platform if we joined forces. Your content is very important to that movement. I hope that in case your channel does get terminated that you will find a better, less racist platform to continue your valuable contribution to the world. I'm not that far off from dropping the whole platform and switching to some alternative and if I do that then I'll delete all my google accounts and ip ban their servers too as youtube is the main reason I'm here. It's not because of what there are doing to you specifically but because their whole trend have been disastrous with everything they did recently. They might think they are too big to fail but that is not the case, there are alternative sites out there and I am seriously considering switching to those or just dropping internet videos all together.

It has happened to me before...

My channel is pretty much exclusively Mario Paint covers of various music.

I had a video struck for illegal content because it was a Mario Paint cover of keygen music. I appealed and was rejected.

Thankfully I'm in a position to just kind of not give a shit, but yeah I'm living proof that just the word "keygen" in your video title can be enough to get you penalized. On a music upload.
