Otac Ricka van der Lindena bio je klavirist, pa nije bilo iznenađenje da je mladi Rick išao na satove klavira. Kasnije je počeo učiti svirati orgulje i na kraju je otišao u Konzervatorij Haarlem. Svirao je u mnogim bendovima i noćnim klubovima, a impresionirali su ga Brian AUGER i Keith EMERSON. Rick je dobio svjetsko priznanje 'classic-rock formulom' od EKSEPTION-a, ali želio je da njegov vlastiti bend pokaže svoju klavijaturističku pirotehniku. Treći album "Ladies" je slab trud, bendu je ponestajalo ideja. Ispostavilo se da je ovaj rekord njihov swansong.Siguran sam da će Fedde biti dobro.

Le troisième album "Ladies" est un effort faible, le groupe a manqué d'idées. Il s'est avéré que ce disque était leur chant du cygne et je suis sûr que Fedde ira bien.

The first two albums, "Trace" and "Birds" (released on the Muse Records bonus CD), deliver exciting, often lavish symphonic rock driven by keyboards: mostly instrumental music full of virtuoso keyboards, swirling Hammond organs, and the magnificent Mellotron eruptions of wizard Rick Linden, supported by a strong and propulsive rhythmic part.
In my opinion the songs on “Birds” sound more elaborate and refined. The epic song “King-bird” (with Jaap van Eik on electric guitar) shows the hugh potential of TRACE: dazzling keyboard rides, many climate changes, and dynamic interplay. The third album "Ladies" is a weak effort, the band ran out of ideas. It turned out that this record was their swansong. I'm sure Fedde will be fine.
