I cracked up when Twilight called them "cocksuckers" and Rainbow Dash indignantly said "That's not true!" ...Of course, she COULD have meant the backstabbing part, but it's funnier the first way.
I just watched the Christmas episode again and wanted to tell you how much I loved the story. It really makes me emotional. The voice acting is really good. If voice acting is what you like, I hope you can get into it for a living. I think you all deserve to get into that or writing. I love all the ponies a lot but I think Twilight is my favorite because of your stories and series. I mean I like Tara Strong ok, but Kitaronicus brings her more into reality for me. Same with Spike. He deserves more than he gets from the FIM series. It's been better for Spike, lately, but not enough. I liked how Rarity is older then the rest. She has more attitude and personality, which she desperately needs in FIM. I would say more, but I don't know when to shut up, So for now, just thought you should know that this fan appreciates your hard work, and looks forward to anything and everything from TheKanterlot. We never stated it directly in the episode, but there's really no need to feel too bad for her. Despite the way Ponyville feels about her (which their aggression stems from the fact the Mayor Mare had been shoving her down their throats for at least a couple years) she is still a multi-platinum recording artist beloved by millions of fans all throughout the world.
All jokes aside, I really enjoyed this Christmas special and now have a better understanding of the universe you are creating for your characters. Sometimes it gets really deep and I'm like "WOW! They went there. I never would have imagined even a parody of a show filled with colorful ponies going there, but they went there." You guys take your writing, your stories, and your character seriously, and considering the premise you yourselves created, that's quite the accomplishment. I mean even in a world where Santa and Magic do exist and being an evil overlord is an achievable dream, I still wouldn't want to be in any of these guys' shoes. The first episode seemed very comedic centered, and ever since then you have been taking these caricatures and doing things with them I never thought possible. It certainly makes you stand out from the other series out there. So what made you decide to take this more serious toned route? (Which is just a fancy way of saying "Why So Serious?" lol)
+SuperWorldJumper Well none of us ever saw ourselves doing an MLP parody, though we've all been interested in writing and acting virtually our entire lives. We want to someday write and act professionally, but before we can we need at least some form of experience.
That's when we thought of the abridging community and what a good place it could be to practice these things and get better. And if people didn't like what we were doing, there wouldn't be any consequences!
So we planned out the big, dramatic story, figured out back stories for our characters and then tweaked them to fit into a FIM parody.
Basically Friendship is for Adults is a watered down version of a television show we someday hope to make. And this is our way of getting in a lot of writing and acting practice before we try and sell our story to a network. If all goes according to plan, you may flip on Comedy Central or Adult Swim one day and see a perfected version of our show!
We also were fans of the big abridged series (both Pony and non pony) and noticed that people have pretty much done everything you can with an abridged series except make a serious one!
Also your comment with the alternate Pinkie/Twi conversation! It sounds familiar but we can't remember where that's from.
It's from "Sandy, SpongeBob, and The Worm" where SpongeBob tries to convince Sandy not to go after the Alaskan Bull Worm. I remember you saying how you guys were a fan of Spongebob's eager face, so I thought you might appreciate a SpongeBob reference infused with your characters and maybe find it humorous. Of course I tweaked it a little to match your characters better. Did you like it?

Huh. That was well done, and yet... odd. There was no payoff to the main plot points. We never found out exactly WHO Twilight had been hoping to see. I mean, an obvious guess would be her parents, but then again, maybe she'd been hoping for a visit from Celestia. Or maybe someone else entirely that we'd never heard about? I figured we'd finally get some sort of reveal by the end--"I wanted... THEM." But no. Nothing was ever said. Strange.
And then there was Mr. and Mrs. Cake's obvious plot for Pinkie to go along and do... something to subvert Twilight's plan. Which also turned out to be nothing. So what were they trying to accomplish with their scheming out of Twilight's earshot? I am quite confused.
Not gonna lie, guys, I'm digging' it. Tone up your output a little, though, your vocals are kinda wonky. Maybe a higher-end mic would help. I know money doesn't grow on trees, but it'll help avoid the harsh S sounds like were rampant in the halloween special.
Besides that, I definitely like the series. There's a shit-ton more character growth, and I love the hinted at nightlife of the crew. Rarity, the demon slayer could almost be a show on it's own. One question, was she actually freaking out about the cenobites or was that a ploy?
@Alex Kroeker Yeah, we thought it would help the atmosphere by using a vocal effect that targets the sharp sounds in the vocals to make it sound old timey and it fucked it up XD Thankfully we learned our lesson!
As for the cenobites, she was sincerely freaking out. The cenobites weren't ponified versions of themselves, and though the FIM universe is home to all sorts of crazy creatures, humans aren't one of them. So just imagine her shock seeing creatures she's never seen before, and mutilated, disfigured versions at that! Not too mention the cenobites are creatures she wouldn't be able to overpower by force anyway, her specialty.

one bad point is that NONE of the content creators have talked about hearths warming day, the all only made christmas stuff, whatever christmas is. :c I feel let down Multiple images during the show would really help the immersion, if you ponies can convince an artist to join your party. If I was an artist I would gladly volunteer, but my art is terrible. I am sorry :c I wish I could help or support any way I could, I will just settle for like, faving, and telling all my pony friends about your videos

And Fluttershy's sister and Rainbow's brother, that's an entire story itself, there was no way we could fit it in this already plot heavy episode.
And as far as hearths warming is concerned. It doesn't exist in our universe! And yeah, we would have loved to have this animated. Maybe next year we'll be able to shoot bigger :)

Actually that was a reference to episode 100 the one that was all about background characters. in it a bugbear is attacking ponyville and bonbon reveals she actually has a secret identity and that the bugbear must be there for her. if you haven't seen episode 100 then i suggest you watch it. it's great.
Slice of life is also where the character who was portraied as a doctor in this series and thus unwilling to buy an apple turns out to be a time traveler who later even wears the scarf of Tom Baker's Doctor....I kinda thought they were referencing that there.

Considering the fact that animals were often given up in sacrifice, and we already know that cows are sentient beings in FifA......
@shitosusansen Without giving away information we haven't put in an episode yet, we'll just leave it at this: Pinkie and her family are Jewish. But Pinkie would identify above all things as an advocate for God, she simply wants ponies to be saved. Since the town she lives in is almost entirely dominated by Baptists, and because both religions worship the same God, she doesn't care about the differences between her faith and their's and works with the ponies of Ponyville.
As for the sacrifice of animals, we never really gave it much thought. If they did it would have been what are considered animals to the ponies in MLP. Basically everything that's not equine or bovine.
The dialogue without Twi talking over it is actually in our Bloopers Special pt. 2. Towards the end of EyesofEstranged Christmas Special section, about 1:15

Multiple images during the show would really help the immersion, if you ponies can convince an artist to join your party. If I was an artist I would gladly volunteer, but my art is terrible. I am sorry :c I wish I could help or support any way I could, I will just settle for like, faving, and telling all my pony friends about your videos
@Leonard Greenpaw Wow, thank you so much! We really appreciate it! Some of those questions we can't answer now, but the letter Twilight receives is shown after the credits. And Fluttershy's sister and Rainbow's brother, that's an entire story itself, there was no way we could fit it in this already plot heavy episode.

1 likeActually that was a reference to episode 100 the one that was all about background characters. in it a bugbear is attacking ponyville and bonbon reveals she actually has a secret identity and that the bugbear must be there for her. if you haven't seen episode 100 then i suggest you watch it. it's great.
Slice of life is also where the character who was portraied as a doctor in this series and thus unwilling to buy an apple turns out to be a time traveler who later even wears the scarf of Tom Baker's Doctor....I kinda thought they were referencing that there.

I'm feel sorry for Rainbow Dash when she finally tells the truth.And the Santa visit Poor Twilight didn't get coal this year. I suppose she has to be extra Evil next year :D .... @shitosusansen Without giving away information we haven't put in an episode yet, we'll just leave it at this: Pinkie and her family are Jewish. But Pinkie would identify above all things as an advocate for God, she simply wants ponies to be saved. Since the town she lives in is almost entirely dominated by Baptists, and because both religions worship the same God, she doesn't care about the differences between her faith and their's and works with the ponies of Ponyville.
3 likesAs for the sacrifice of animals, we never really gave it much thought. If they did it would have been what are considered animals to the ponies in MLP. Basically everything that's not equine or bovine.
