It kinda hurts when you notice the amount of friends that drifted away from you as you got older and went to different schools… Hour long conversations during lunch and recess you can never come back to, the pictochat messages you sent during school field trips, the friendship bracelets/necklaces… Even the promise of being friends forever stings.

Ah the good old last day of school, it’s always a calm day where everyone just relaxes and takes the time to sign yearbooks and chat with their friends in class one last time before next year. It sometimes has an indescribable uncanny feeling that feels like the ending of a movie that just makes it complete.

I remember I had a really strict elementary teacher that everyone either hated or was intimidated by. She ended up being extremely cool on the last month of school always allowing everyone to use their electronics and even letting some kids play Mortal Kombat/GTA San Andreas on the projector. I can't imagine how different school is now with everything going on.

I had a really funny, cool guy as a friend through my years of middle school. He was a true best friend to me.
Unfortunately because of the pandemic, school ended early and I knew he was going to a different school.
I still kinda miss him.

The last day of Middle School felt like the last day of school in general, everyone was splitting up, going to different high schools, moving, and growing up officially. We’ve been with each other since elementary, the majority of us knew each other since we were 5-6 years old, a couple of us went to pre-school together, in a small ass school with one class per grade, and that was the end of it. I’ve made a number of good friends in High School, but they just can’t compare with the OG’s. Cherish the days you have with those you love, everyone.

The only time I felt this was my last year at Senior High, since the last two years was the only time I went to a different school than the one I went from the first grade to junior high, and I actually HAVE people that I can call friends. Never had that kind of feeling again since my first year of college was hellish, didn't have any friends again, and the last day was uneventful since it was a normal day until the pandemic hits.

This exudes winter break energy. Last day of school before winter break. You come back from school and it has been snowing on and off a couple of days. You wear multiple layers of clothes and a heavy coat to protect against the bitter cold. You finally make it home and rest after an exhausting day of testing at school.

i was still in elementary in 2020,but thanks to the quarantine almost half of my last year of elementary was me being stuck inside my house. there could have been so many other memories i could have experienced through those times,but i’m kinda glad i didn’t. since my school didn’t have middle school,all of my friends and i were forced to go to different schools,all of them went to schools with at least one friend going with them,but i switched to a school where none of them went with me (because it was pretty far away) my first year of middle school was tough,i didn’t have any friends,i didn’t know anyone and it was all online while i slowly drifted away from my old friends. now it’s 2022 and my city has finally gotten back to school in person, things could have been so much different if the quarantine didn’t happen. now i have to cherish and spend the last year and a half of time i have in middle school,i hope that i’ll have a good last day of middle school and the same goes for everyone that got to spend the last day in school inside their houses. enjoy it while it lasts.

For me that day wasn't really expected, since I finished school during 2020. So I never really knew if it really is my last day leaving school or if next week or month I would still go there before the end of the year.
In the end, my last time at school was really just to get my grades from the exam, some last words from the teachers, a little party with my class and that's it. Everyone went home when they wanted and we never really met each other since then.

We hoped we maybe could have a bigger party this year, but yeah. Guess that's also not the case, even though numbers go down here pretty well.

I was 4-5 years old in Kindergarten learning basic math, learning numbers, shapes and easy double digit addition and subtraction, reading dr. seuss, drawing pictures, having recess, fun fridays, etc. and now just yesterday I took the real SATs for the first time in my life. Time does fly fast especially when you miss your childhood so much from the Mario Kart DS vs races on the school bus back when the DSi and Wii Shop Channels were still active to watching tom and jerry on boomering or johnny bravo on cartoon network back when they had those weird 2010 bumpers. Man i miss those days..
