Orphans or severely disadvantaged foals. Homeless, poor, etc. She takes them to her secret colony to boost the population. The ones she takes wouldn’t be missed in Equestria.
In the last video you watched, what Luna was doing was not just "kidnapping children," she was saving orphans from a hard life. They were all alone. All an orphan wants is a parent who loves them. And I think Luna would make the absolute best mother. Also, I think this animation was the first time I had encountered the Solar Empire/Lunar Republic dynamic. Luna wanted freedom and equality between every creature, not just ponies. But, Celestia wanted the Empire of Equestria AKA the Solar Empire to remain the way it was, and she thought that Luna's idea of a republic would destroy the old traditional paradigm. So, Luna took it into her hooves to create that republic secretly in the dead of night, when Celestia and the other ponies who might stop her would be sleeping. So, no, she's not kidnapping them, she's giving them a better life. I don't know how long she stayed with them before going back to her sister and confronting her ala Nightmare Moon style, but she couldn't stay with them forever, which makes me sad. We could have avoided the Nightmare Moon arc entirely if the fandom had their way.
Children of the Night is pretty straight forwards. In the beginning we are told how Luna took young colts and fillies off into her realm of Night to raise them as her own children.
What is implied is that this actually helped early Equestria to succeed, since it removed young ponies from Equestria and the need to feed, house, and otherwise deal with those survivors of Discord's reign and it's aftermath.
Note that Luna only took orphans, homeless ponies, and the poorest of the poor. And only those colts and fillies that would otherwise not have adults love and care in their lives at such an early developmental age.
This, I feel, is the reason for the 'Bat Ponies' seen in the Nightmare Night episode later in the series. Ponies that had adapted to her realm of Night and served Luna out of Love and devotion, just as Celestia's ponies love and serve her.
So, in a way, Luna has her own 'kingdom' of ponies in her 'Dream Realm'. Ones that obey and serve her out of Love and devotion passed on by the later grown up foals and fillies that Luna raised in her sphere of power.
To them, the Order of Nature would be reversed, with Luna being the primary leader, and Celestia the 'lesser' sister.
25:34 "What is it with this show and the fan animations making me f@$%ing cry?" This has been about my 20th time watching both Snowdrop and my 30th time seeing the season 3 finale, through all these reaction videos, and they both still get me every time.
In “Children of the Night” Luna suggests moving their subjects somewhere less apocalyptic while the nation recovers, while Celestia insists they stay and make it work because she doesn’t want the ponies to scatter during the move so Luna puts a sleeping spell on her and all the grown ups and gathers up the orphans and neglected children and takes them somewhere hidden and safe.
Yes the fall of the crystal empire is kind of a backstory on how Luna and Celestia first defeated King Sombra and then a thousand years later basically the season 3 premiere he and the empire returned . Also the comics actually show Sombra's backstory and his childhood years before realising he was an evil shadow pony. I suggest to check them out
Though it's been so long of seeing Snowdrop, it still had me fascinated that for a fanmade short it's very animation-accurate as the show.
Not to mention that I've always considered Snowdrop as the Toph Beifong of MLP. She may not be able to see, but she doesn't let her blindness become an impairment, but some sort of blessing in what she can conjure up without having to see.
Snowdrop is one of my favorite fan made MLP animations... there are many others, but this one is special.
Luna and 'Tia kept the first Snowflake that Snowdrop ever made, and used it when all the others had been spent during celebrations of Winter for nearly a thousand years.
At the beginning of the story, we see Luna and 'Tia as younger Alicorns, 100 years after they assumed power in Equestria, and without the flowing hair that their use of the Elements of Harmony altered, when they defeated Discord. Celestia's hair became rainbow colored when she mis-used the Elements to banish her sister to the moon, when Luna let anger overcome her and change her to Nightmare Moon.
So, the scene at the end, where they talk about the last Snowdrop-made Snowflake, we see that it is after Luna's return and redemption.
Now, on to somethings that I think you may not know. Snowdrop's Cutie Mark is the Golanthus Flower. Also known in German as Edel Weiss, or the 'Common Snowdrop' flower. Hense Snowdrop's name.
If you've seen Lullabye for a Princess, there are two scenes where you see the interior of Luna's chambers, and to the left of the door (looking outwards) there is a tapestry hanging there with Snowdrop's Cutie Mark. WarpOut inserted those scenes specifically because of the Snowdrop animation into his own animated video.
Later in life, Snowdrop might have been referred to as 'Lady Golanthus', the formal name of her flower Cutie Mark.
Fall of the Crystal Empire, back when the princesses actually did something, right? Snowdrop is a true work of art. It's beautiful and insightful. It deserves the praise it gets. I also was surprised that there were this many military bronies. I've become quite a fan of Joshscorcher since this. Children of the night's "come little children" is actually a song from the film "Hocus Pocus". Good movie that I like to see every Halloween.
Great reactions as always. I've seen that you're becoming self-aware of your risque dialogue, but that's actually more hilarious somehow.
I think it's fascinating to analyze how this enormous artistic legacy came to be, even the fact that the characters are quadruped is important because it is one of those things that made MLP unique/different from other shows. Here is the list of many (but not all) factors that have lead to this phenomenon: cute, lovable, easy to draw, anthro characters, good music, nice visuals, non-human (basically alien) world that has magic and takes it sorta seriously, a sense of geography and some socio-economics, unlimited potential for world building and lore expansion, great range of subjects and themes explored in the show from funny and relatable to tragic and kinda dark, giant number of references (obvious and hidden), determined fans that feel weird, proud and kinda special at the same time, ideology/moral lessons that some took to heart and were inspired by.
There are still many aspects I didn't include but I think you get the idea. It's definitely a very odd case of a fan base, that's why there are dedicated researchers who try to analyze it and extrapolate what was the main cause of all this.
King Sombra's visions are like a Harry Potter boggart from Prisoner of Azkaban. It turns into what you're afraid of the most. I think that Celestia and Luna have the same fear: of Luna turning into Nightmare Moon. Celestia couldn't handle it and she broke her spirit. Luna couldn't handle it, either, and it broke her mind.
Heh, nice reaction. I've probably seen Fall of the Crystal Empire fourty times by now, and Luna's / NNM's speech still gives me goosebumps ;) Good job with keeping the balance between watching/paying attention and commenting.

Yeah, the Bronies React series by ACRaceBest is a very popular series. Best to start from the beginning (you need to see Teens React to MLP first) and go in order. Of course, you need to see all the source videos first, such as the episodes and fanworks they react to. They usually react to every Season Premier and Finale plus the movies. Occasionally, they'll do certain mid-season episodes that are considered to be major episodes. In the older reacts, they did some fanworks like Smile HD and Cupcakes HD.
Is there a place where people can request reactions to fan content from you, or is that what the comments are for? In any case, I'd like to recommend you react to one or more of the "Rainbow Dash Presents" series by Dawn Somewhere, at some point.

Kadeda the main thing I don’t like is the fact that her blindness is irrelevant. It doesn’t negatively effect her life at all to the point she may as well not be blind.
I mean, she navigated her way home in the middle of a blizzard on her own with no problem whatsoever, what’s the point in making her blind if you can’t tell that she is. Look at Toph from Avatar the last airbender, yeah she’s super awesome and has her own way of “seeing” but she still has moments where her blindness effects her (putting posters up backwards, not being able to catch things etc).
My problem with snowdrop is that her blindness just seemed like the creators put their hand into a hat and picked a random trait to make her seem more interesting.
This shows that Luna is by far the better fighter than Celestia. The only reason Luna didn't show up until the last minute in Canterlot Wedding is that the fight between her and Chrysalis would have been the last scene, and the episode would have been short, ending with a smoking crater where Chrysalis was.
FSNyion Yeah, I planned on just searching the songs I know and just toning out anything else that pops up. I have gone on there and tested it out and didn’t run into any spoilers, so I think I should be fine. Im just having trouble recording it right now, that’s all.

And after luna hearing that she didnt want to confront celestia about it anymore cause she doesnt want her sister to fear her as was stated during the fight between luna and sembra after celestia was knocked out
I just wish reactor's noticed that part
Edit: 9:25 is where luna tried to be honest about what happened before being cut off
Also at 6:05 is where luna stated she does not fear me
And she said it in a upset tone as if she knows she does but doesn't like to admit it as well as doesnt like the fact her sister fears her
Snowdrop was cute rip
