If you seen the show dragon tales the character Cassie was voiced by the same person who voiced diamond tiara and they also had a character named lorca who was also a cripple Cassie never said to her you should’ve been walking long ago on like diamond tiara who said you should’ve been flying long ago
Yeah, mocking someone for their disability is pretty scummy, even for Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. The fans detested them before this episode, but after that display, they went on the blacklist. That said, I consider this episode to be a huge highlight of season 4. I personally find its message very empowering. A lot of messages about overcoming disabilities in media tend to not be good in my opinion. Some seem like they go too crazy with the "you can do it" attitude, that it gets them to a point where they could feel pretty bad if they don't live up to the standards. My Little Pony of all franchises turned out to be the one to nail it. I just love it when shows for kids can handle mature topics with all the grace and care they deserve.
@@Icy-be5vl She had 1 episode where we find out her mom is mean to her and encourages her to bully and all of a sudden it takes back everything she’s did? Like there was no implication of her having any struggle prior (If anything we all knew she was rich and spoiled) so having it all be in 1 episode, and then giving her basically no sort of character or interactions after that was pretty lame. She could’ve atleast been shown to be nice in future episodes to redeem her
"Hearts Strong as Horses" is one of my favorite songs from the show, mainly because of the three part harmony (the audio of each CMC has a separate audio channel, meaning the overall sound is more stereoscopic, as well as meaning that people have been able to pull out the individual character parts), plus its got a prominent mandolin line, the mandolin being one of my favorite instruments. Additionally, the reprise of this song has always hit me emotionally because of the fact that it immediately follows Scootaloo's emotional scene in the house. Especially once you consider the fact that the first time, the CMCs were singing this song together, but as the reprise begins, they're singing it to Scootaloo as a personal message to her. Overall a very emotion filled episode, and one of my personal favorites.
It's amazing. This episode is one that everyone loved and hated at the same time. They loved the message, the song, the storyline and the heartwarming themes, but what everyone was simultaneously ticked off by was the bullying of a disabled pegasus. It was a moment that shocked the fandom. It was one of the first really dark moments the show had. Of course, they were shown in the wrong but it made a lot of people uncomfortable. However, watching through the rest of the episode really makes up for it and more in helping overcome the bullying. It motivates Scootaloo to give it her all, but at the same time, she needs to understand that she shouldn't let it to alter her entire self worth.
@@eredinmakitrzkingoffriends7418true, she basically did bad things for multiple seasons, got redeemed in one episode, and disappeared forever. she deserved better but the show writers did her wrong
This is the episode where Diamond Tiara crossed the Rubicon, it’s like harshing on a kid in a wheelchair for not being able to walk for the sole purpose of breaking their spirit. I was in a room full of my brony friends watching this and the reaction was visceral
Crystal Stand The voice of diamond tiara previously played a character named Cassie on Dragon tales. And that show also had a disabled character as well Lorca and Cassie does not say you should’ve been walking long ago
But that's what makes antagonists good, right? ;> It's those who we love to hate ;) and it makes the protagonist's virtues stand out more, due to contrast ;)
Man I love this episode, definitely one of my favorites from S4, but its still one of the first episodes to make me a bit angry. What DT and SS did was essentially the same thing as me going up to a disabled guy in a wheelchair and making fun of him for not being able to walk, sorta fucked up.
Also don't worry, that scene in the house towards the end still may or may not make me tear up years later. I blame it on Scootaloo being one of my favorite characters, no shame.
I forgot how nice this song was. This was a pretty hard-hitting episode, with a great moral. Also I ended up liking Diamond Tiara later on, but this episode... The way she made fun of Scootaloo's handicap really pissed me off the first time I saw this episode.
10:28 JOHN CENA!!! :J 10:41 That shot may look interesting if taken out of context :) 13:13 Squeaky Belle :) 22:20 :) The creators of this show are ingenious in teasing the fans with that ;>

I really like this episode. A pretty mature topic that can be related to us as well. DT and SS were pretty evil in thos episode and got pretty much scotch free. Also, this teasing in the end gets everyone...
This is the first time I’ve seen this episode and I can with certainty that this is the most upset this show has made me. I love the crusaders and hate the bullying they endure but Diamond Tiara picking on what could likely have been Scoot’s handicap was just the worst. Seeing Scoots insecurities and fear get trampled on and her crying really did it in for me. If ANYone talked to ANY of my loved ones like that (especially my younger ones) they would have a mouth full of fist and no fucking teeth.
So i finally figure out why Scootaloo can't fly it because she has underdeveloped wings which means while you have wings they lost the flight strength necessary to lift you off the ground
I would have loved it if when they were singing hearts as strong as horses Applejack came over to apple Bloom and told her I hate to break it to you sugar cube but heart disease runs in the family.
This is my 3rd best episode and most personal. Scootaloo is stellar. Rainbow Dash is fantastic. Okay at this point in the series Diamond is not that great.
Diamond Tiara is an utter shit in this one. The song is a bop (a lot of CMC songs are bops) but really DT's ableism is rightfully what people associate this episode with.
Diamond Tiara and Silverspoon be saying "You have a pegasus pony who can't even fly" and laughing or whatever, correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't that be kinda ableist or what
I don't think it's necessarily a disability. They never say that. In fact the only reason they give at all is tiny wings, but if you look at bulk biceps his wings are smaller and he is a lot bigger and he can fly. Now in the episode " the last crusade " we meet scootaloo's parents and you can see mom is a Pegasus and dad is an earth pony. Her inability to fly probably has more to do with that.
Do you know what I’ll do that situation put my up middle finger and shove it up diamond tiara and silver spoons asses and put them in a saw movie I know that’s a little extreme because they all kids, but they deserve it for making fun of a disabled pony do you know what even more worse the voice of diamond tiara actually voiced Cassie on Dragon tales which actually had a disabled character in it to at least Cassie didn’t make fun of that character who is in a wheelchair
