Gloria's Children was a six-member band, Walter Schönfeld (guitar), Freddy Turber (vocals, lead guitar), Matthias Gall (vocals, keyboards), Manfred Börner (drums), Jürgen Schönfeld (bass) and Johannes Kraus (flute, saxophone, percussion) ), who reportedly recorded their only album "Schatten" in 1978, to see the light of day in 1981. With only one song sung in English and other lyrics written and delivered in German, this one belongs to the Teutonic Prog album catalog no direction from the late ’70s, much into the vein of Shaa Khan with some Eloy pinches, composing music with a somewhat symphonic background, delivering keyboard textures with epic layers and sonic landscapes, but also maintaining a strong lyrical content. The songs follow a slow tempo with dramatic singing and instrumental parts, and the guitars have a strangely harder advantage than the bandwidth required, while the work on the keyboards is based on constant synth lines. Some very nice melodies, as well as at times to match the atmospheric flute, the album is quite consistent and quite enjoyable, refusing to become too melodramatic or complicated for its own good.
