Even if it looks like I have some success online, I'm next to nothing in the industry I'm attempting to work my way into. People don't know me, and their first assumption is usually "wannabe". I'm happy doing what I'm doing, but this fandom won't last forever and when it fades, all of us are gonna have to keep working some way or another. The truth about this industry is, it's unforgiving, it's fickle, and it is by no means stable. You get hired to do a project, then the project is over and you have to get hired again... Eventually you build up enough of a name for yourself that people keep coming back to you, but (as you mentioned) that takes YEARS and a TON of work. You're right, getting your start in the industry is tough, but what you have to realize is I'm still getting my start too! I don't know the answers to a lot of the questions people ask me.. The best I can do is tell you to schedule a consolation with my Manager, Monique. She does it for a price, but she'll point you in the right direction. The only advice I can offer is to do what I did. Create content, post it online, reach out to the people you want to work with, and eventually you'll work your way up.

You can't teach talent when it comes to voice acting. But even Will Smith admits that he doesn't have talent, but he has what he calls both skill and work ethic; the guy works harder than most actors in order to compensate and make some money. I quote the following from Will Smith himself.
"The separation of talent and skill is one of the greatest misunderstood concepts for people who are trying to excel, who have dreams, who want to do things. Talent you have naturally. Skill is only developed by hours and hours and hours of beating on your craft.
I’ve never really viewed myself as particularly talented. Where I excel is ridiculous, sickening work ethic. You know, while the other guy’s sleeping, I’m working. While the other guys’ eating, I’m working.
There’s no easy way around it. No matter how talented you are, your talent is going to fail you if you’re not skilled. If you don’t study, if you don’t work really hard and dedicate yourself to being better every single day, you’ll never be able to communicate with people - with your artistry - the way that you want…."
I also would normally quote "Those who can't do, teach. Those who can't teach, teach gym," but that may be stretching it too far in this case.
Nevertheless, that's not the point of why I'm responding to your message. The point is, you're right. And I was humbled a good deal by your message. Instead of me being a bitter and cynical asshole, I just should be spending more time practicing. It's difficult, because it's hard to find out how to learn it and where to go. Googling the information alone isn't enough, because a majority of those links usually lead up to charlatans trying to score a quick buck off you, and you wind up learning nothing. I must rely on my own ability to learn, and hopefully someone will notice me.

Here's another question: Why would I go out of my way to train someone I don't even know, who's trying to manipulate and guilt-trip me into doing it? Would you? Try to put yourself in my position for a second: Imagine you were getting hundreds of messages a week from people you didn't even know, asking you to dedicate hours of your time to tell them something you know they could easily google. Would you do it? I can tell you this; if you tried, you'd fail. Because not only is it impossible to take every single aspiring voice actor "under your guidance", there is no secret formula to being successful in the voice over industry. You can't teach talent, nor can you grant connections, agents and fame. So you'd still end up leaving tons of people disappointed and angry.
Again, I am only one person. I have to "put food on the table", and trying to teach strangers how to be "famous" doesn't pay the bills.
