I know I'm late on commenting this, but I just found your channel.
It shocks me that Windows doesn't allow shorter dates, and not even accept 1/1/1600 and automatically sets it to 1/1/1601. To me, it would make sense that doing year 0 would be better for the OS, as it takes less code/bits (year 0 will have virtually no bit value, you only have to account for the day, while year 1601 will have 11 bits [1101000001]), giving more resources to other processes. But I guess Windows hard-coded this for essential services to work.
I honestly think it would be wise for Windows to implement a feature where it allows the user to not display the year or even the whole date on the system, as it would save a few lines of code. Sure, Windows may still keep track of the date, but it would be in the background and not constantly in use/in RAM. Just an idea of mine ;P
Or try putting Longhorn(or 2003 Pro SKU) build 3790 sp2 into the original LH3790/2003/XP setup. I did it once. Guess what, it installed, but constantly asked for files that I had to manually find the paths. And after it finished, I got a BSOD on first boot.(sadly didn't record it)

Windows 9x systems have active directory dates that have 1601-1-1 as a base. Any date before 1601-1-1 will be unreadable and immediately change to the base of 1601-1-1. So this isnt a bug, rather just Windows thinking that Jesus's birth wasnt cool.
