This double CD (1. 44:15 / 2. 41:41) unites the absolute rarities of the famous German band Aera. AERA founded 'Ihre Kinder' guitarist Muck Groh in 1972 and in 2066 - Then keyboardist Steve Robinson was in the very beginning, when they recorded their special extended version (26 minutes) of 'Mechelwind Suite' of their later classic title 'Mechelwind' (on the album 'Hand und Fuss', LHC 44, vinyl release). The Mechelwind Suite is divided into 5 parts and quite different from the later version of the album, not only because of Steve Robinson's excellent keyboard playing, but also because of The Muck Groh's fine guitar playing and Klaus Kreuzeder's cosy saxophone melodies. CD 1 ends with two SWF recordings of 'Hodibbel' and 'Mechelwind' from October 1973 again with 2066. CD 2 contains a live performance of AERA from 23.12.1973 with the same line as on CD 1. AERA je 1972. godine osnovala gitarista 'Ihre Kindera' Mucka Groha i 2066. godine - Tada je klavijaturist Steve Robinson bio u samim počecima, kada su snimili svoju posebnu proširenu verziju (26 minuta) 'Mechelwind Suite' svog kasnijeg klasičnog naslova 'Mechelwind' (na albumu 'Hand und Fuss', LHC 44, vinil-izdanje). Mechelwind Suite podijeljen je u 5 dijelova i prilično se razlikuje od kasnije verzije albuma, ne samo zbog izvrsnog sviranja klavijature Stevea Robinsona, već i zbog finog sviranja gitare Mucka Groha i ugodnih saksofonskih melodija Klausa Kreuzedera. CD 1 završava s dva SWF-snimanja 'Hodibbel' i 'Mechelwind' iz listopada 1973. ponovno s 2066 . CD 2 sadrži live izvedbu AERA-e od 23.12.1973. s istom linijom kao na CD-u 1. Prvih nekoliko pjesama bilo je iznenađenje, u ''Praeludiumu'' i ''All you need'' Blackbirds su u prvom planu ponudili Psych/Prog inspiriran klasikom s žicama i razbijanjem orgulja, imajući snažne naznake iz glazbe NICE i podsjećajući na sunarodnjake PELL MELL i danski čin ACHE. Atmosfera je melkolična s dobrim dijelovima organa i depresivnim vokalima, mijenja klimu i daje neke zapažene psihodelične utjecaje.'' Povratak iz rata'' upitan je pokušaj miješanja istog stila s Heavy/Psychom, pa čak i Rock'n'Rollom.Oštre električne gitare dolaze kao dokaz, a bend izvodi glazbu temeljenu na lupanju grooveova i iritantnim vokalima, prekinutoj Bely's Classical temama na orguljama. U kasnijem dijelu staze Blackbirds ulazi u zakrčeno raspoloženje, dok je bass rad Bodea apsolutno dubok i bijesan.'' Give Me Freedom'' je više isti, depresivni Classical Rock, sada je naglasak na Belyjevom akustičnom klaviru, čak i ako nikada ne napušta svoje orgulje, dok drugi dio sadrži neke jake Heavy/Psych staze s gitarama i klavirom u frenetičnoj izvedbi.'' Ono što je besplatno'' približava se tipičnom Kraut Rocku, zadržavajući složene pauze progresivne glazbe, kao i staromodne orgulje koje vode Psychedelic Rock i dovršavajući otkačenu pjesmu s proširenim instrumentalnim radom. S dugim ''Vrati se'' bend konačno zauvijek ulazi u Švapsku zemlju. Muddy Psych/Prog s inventivnim ispiranjem organa, fantastičnim folk okruženjem na bazi flaute u sredini sa standardnom ritmičkom sekcijom u njemačkom stilu koja podržava i sjajnim izlazom s Breinigovom gitarom i glasom koji se bori s njegovom flautom.

The atmosphere is melcolic with good organ parts and depressive vocals, it changes the climate and gives some notable psychedelic influences." With a long "Come Back", the band finally enters swabia land forever. Muddy Psych/Prog with inventive organ rinsing, fantastic flute-based folk environment in the middle with a standard German-style rhythmic section that supports both a great exit with Breinig's guitar and a voice battling his flute.

In 2014, they came to mark their 50th anniversary, and even GÄA keyboardist Guenter Lackes was part of the lineup in the early 1990s. Apparently, the band recorded only one more album, in 1991 it was "Past and Present". Breinig, the legendary bandleader, had to abandon the idea in 1995 due to some serious illness.
He reissued Long Hair in 2005 with two bonus songs. A mixture of loose Kraut Rock and outdated Classical/Psych Rock in the vein nice, quite charming, albeit rather unoriginal. Recommended.LADISLAV&Z
