Ce n’est qu’à l’année du 72 que leur troisième album est sorti sur un petit label transatlantique folk (et une condition, soul Stax label aux États-Unis), mais à ce moment-là Skin alley était un groupe différent, le batteur Pope quittait le groupe, remplacé par Tony Knight, SA avait une approche de voix beaucoup plus rockering aux États-Unis, même profiter de la chanson Skin Valley Serenade. Leur troisième album Two Quid Deal offre beaucoup de prog pendant qu’ils enregistraient l’album Skintight à Memphis, Tennessee (maison du Stax Record), peut-être un déluge qu’ils détruisaient tout selon l’Amérique, non à leurs saveurs country rock.
